Fall Out Boy have been placed inbetween Placebo and Deftones. im predicting they will be bottled off stage after about 20mins like 50 Cent was when from memory he was thrown in between Placebo and Green Day a few years ago.

people need to realise that most of the time the best acts at a festival are not on the main stage, in most cases you will find them on the smaller side stages. thats the beauty of a festival. its not about seeing the stadium trotting rock act whose songs get played every 5mins on the radio, its about discovering new artists and new forms of music. the writer of that article (off gigwise?) needs to move away from the main stage and go check out whats happening elsewhere. maybe then he'll realise that festivals get bigger and better every year because there is soo much great young talent on show. and UK festivals always have shitty line ups but awesome atmosphere. the European festivals have awesome lineups and crazy atmospheres.

as long as Iron Maiden doesnt win im happy. i still havent thought up a top 5 and most probably will never get it down to 5. is there a deadline?

Nirvana only toured Australia once. it was in early 1992 before Nevermind had broken through. the band had a fairly solid fanbase already down here. it was towards the end of the tour that Nevermind hit number 1 in the US and the bands popularity exploded but they were no where to be found as they were touring down under. they were here as part of the inaugural Big Day Out festival. Nirvana were scheduled to play the main stage which was indoors and had a capacity of 5500. when the band hit the stage there was about 10 000 people crammed into the venue deserting the rest of the stages. since that performance the festival has continuely grown, it now hits 6 cities with about 60 000 at each festival. most people hold Kurt in such high esteem because of the legacy he left and the influence he has had over countless bands that have followed them not because he died at such a young age. he took a sound which was very much alternative (somewhat underground even) and made it commercially successful. something very very few artist have done. his death and the nature of his death make great rock n roll stories but dont add to the brilliance of Nevermind as well as Bleach and In Utero, all of which were great original records.

i've heard Sleepyhead. thats become a pretty big hit down here. but personally im not entirely sold on them. but i'll check out their other stuff and might like them more

personally i dont think its a good idea to include radiohead or coldplay. it is very very obvious that the final 4 albums will be only coldplay and radiohead. if not coldplay only. please prove me wrong!!! i'm going to simply choose 5 albums from the last decade. there is no way i can pick out a top5 list of all time.

i would love to sit in the corner of their studios while they record their music. see the magic unfold.

just a question to all the people saying coldplay are better or metallica are better. why and how are they better? are you saying that kirk is a better guitarist than jonny? so metallica are better or chris is a better singer than james? therefore coldplay are better rush of blood is better than master of puppets? i admire anyone who has the guts to compare these two bands. you must be hearing things that im not.

i actually found Neon Bible to be alot more accesible than The Funeral. nonetheless both are stellar records.

Today marks 15 years since the death of one of the most influential and brilliant artist of all time. Alot of people disagree with me when i say this but i firmly believe that he changed music single handedly forever. His mixture of heart & soul with grit and angst has never been emulated by anyone since. A true rock n roll legend who left us too soon. RIP KURT COBAIN 05/04/1994

^^ theres something very unique about that dvd. there is not a single shot of the crowd. but you dont really notice it when u watch it. and they finished with the wrong song. it should have been A Certain Romance. the last few months ive been thinking. if Whole Lotta Love sums up the classic rock sound of the early 70s. Love will tear us apart defining the post punk era. smells like teen spirit defining grunge. then i think that A Certain Romance should be the song through which the indie rock sound of the mid 2000s should be remembered by. just my opinion but its a bloody amazing song

ive been watching Metallica's performance at Moscow back in 91 this week. does anyone know how many people turned upto that show?? some are saying 750 000 others say it was around 1.5million!! it was a free show held in an air field in the middle of no where. ^^ yeh mate got my copy today. got the Deluxe Edition that has the album, the remixed album and the MTV Unplugged album. the original album sounds awesome of course. the remix wasnt exactly what i thought it would be, i was expecting a............well a remix not just the regular album cleaned up a bit with a few added tracks. so that left me slightly dissapointed. i havent got around to watching the dvd of the unplugged performance but thats only 7 tracks so nothing spectacular. it comes as a little book keeping with the pearl jam tradition of awesome packaging. loads and loads of great pictures including tour itineries and backstage passes. cant wait for Vs and Vitalogy to be re-issued. its going to cost me alot but this band means alot to me so im willing to fork it out. GOD BLESS PEARL JAM

^^ i dont see the band doing anything official together as a 4-piece for the rest of the year. reading some of the stuff john has been saying he doesnt want to associate himself with anything RHCP related at all. their last tour was almost 140 dates and that was on the back of about 9years of heaving touring and recording. unlike alot of other bands they dont just stand there and play their instruments for 2hrs.

i will never get over how amazing their debut was, its right up there as one of my favourite albums of all time and there arent many albums that ive listened to as many times as that. in hindsight having listened to both of their epic releases countless times ive decided that the sophomore does not have any bad songs on it at all(would love to use titles but theyre sooo freaking long) but the debut is a better album overall. to me it just flows better but does have the odd shitty song on it.

^^ for God's sake they supported My Chemical Romance!!! but at the end of the day you are right. they only "relatively" less popular in america. i think their next album will make them massive down here in aus. in the last 12 months i have converted 12 friends into muse fans :)

the greatest stadium rock band of all time with the best stadium rock band of the moment. what a lineup!! shame its happening in north america where they'll most probably be about 14 people in the 80 000 seat stadium who have heard of Muse.

i'm not complaining or anything, i actually think its great that those concerts are shown on tv simply because the atmosphere tends to be sooo amazing. the crowds are more passionate especially since bands only tour there maybe once every 7 or 8yrs. or in the case of radiohead after 14years. i'm starting to get sick of the band constantly talking about european and american tours. they way he's talking in that interview its as if those are the only two parts of the world where people have heard of the band.

does anyone know why it is that when international bands tour South America the concerts are broadcast on tv?? it doesnt happen anywhere else in the world. i always thought it had to do with the fact that alot of fans in that region of the world cant exactly afford to go see them live so they are compensated by getting to watch it live on tv. was the entire Sao Paulo concert broadcast and recorded?

the ticket sales for this tour have been nothing short of amazing. this of U2 France : With sales this morning of over 82000 tickets in New York, 72000 in Boston and 65000 in Chicago the U2 360 Tour will set the largest single day ticket sales in American history. thats on top of the million or so tickets they've sold in Europe.

Its Blitz has been labelled with Universal Acclaim on Metacritic. very deserving for a very good and creative band.
