  1. ^^ cheers for that ma'am
  2. Lay It Down would have to be one of my favourite songs of the year already. wonderfully addictive chorus!!
  3. just listening to the Abbey Road CD now on the radio. sounds pretty awesome!!
  4. ^^ your much better of reading the book their long time tour photographer released. it documents the last 20yrs of their touring careers capturing the band doing what they do best......rocking out on stage. its called Me and My Friends
  5. ^^ they didnt have to do songs as such, simply having a bit of a jam would of made some people happy.
  6. i'm very excited about the new album and even more so the upcoming world tour. they are one of the best live bands of the last decade and im sure they still have it
  7. hahaha i only just realised what song Thom sings before EIIRP, i remember hearing it on the japan tour video and wondering what was the song. i'm very surprised i didnt recognise, One I Love would have to be one of my favourite REM songs, and a song coldplay cover often
  8. Scar Tissue by RHCP is a perfect song to cure a headache.
  9. awesome that metallica have this for their fans. but i do feel for chipotle and all the other fans especially the ones who have spent money on getting to the gig. i dont see why the band couldnt of just jammed for 20 or 30mins. metallica isnt exactly famous for james vocal work so they show would of been just as good if the 3 of them improvised for a bit, maybe played some famous riffs.
  10. and do we have a setlist from Santiago, Chile? and on which page is the setlist from Argentina?
  11. now we're not far off post no. 15000!! QUESTION: Will this thread reach 20000 posts before we get a new radiohead album?
  12. the boys will be proud of us all!!
  13. ^^ i think a very very large number of people were put off by their name. for a long long time i thought they were just another emo band. it was only when i became an alternative music fan that i learnt that they were far from it.
  14. just been having look at the 360.u2.com site. and by the looks of it even the biggest stadiums in the world are not big enough for U2. almost every show that has gone on sale has been sold out instantly despite the fact that the venues hold over 80 000 people and they are doing multiple nights there. this may well go down as the biggest tour in modern music history. not exactly on the back of a great album but most certainly on the back of an amazing career.
  15. ^^ the fact that your schools (your universities) have such competitions is amazing enough!! and on the issue of Narrow Stairs' lyrics. ive never really been one to bother with lyrics so the poor quality of the lyrics on the latest album didnt really sway me. i just thought the musicianship and production work was much better on Narrow Stairs. mind you i love Transatlanticism and Plans.
  16. ^^] the first disc off their last album Stadium Arcadium was the closest they ever got to pop but the other disc was as alternative and unique as u can get. they will go down in history as being one of the most unique (and bizarre) rock bands ever with their blend of rock funk punk metal and rap. i really dont think coldplay fans should be having a go at rhcp cos they are too "commercial".
  17. ^^ did an awesome job at Sound Relief playing Sydney and Melbourne on the same day. last weekend they rocked a major motor racing event which was their first formal outing as a band. not to sure about future tour dates. but an album towards the end of the year sounds great albeit almost 2yrs late considering the debut record came out in 2005!!
  18. ^^ where on earth did u get that news . Jane's Addiction are the only confirmed headliners. the other two are tipped to be Tool and The Killers. i would love to see the poster you speak off. all members of the band have been quoted saying that they intended to take at least another year off if not two.
  19. ^^ personally i preferred Narrow Stairs, easier to listen to
  20. just watched a replay of the reds and villa game. and i must say it was one of the worst refereeing performances in english premier league history. only 2 of the goals were legitimiate the rest should never of happened. neither penalty was even close to a foul and the free kick they scored the first goal off wasnt a foul either. villa were very hard done by but still lost the game to a better team. but the only thing im going to remember from that game is how atrocious the officiating was. and im not even going to start on the man utd game. i still dont see anyone stopping the mighty red devils from defending their title. i tipped liverpool for 2nd and thats where they will finish.
  21. i had a quiet saturday night and when that happens i usually line up 5 albums and listen to them back to back. tonight was: Deerhunter- Microcastle Thom Yorke - Eraser U2 - U218 White Stripes- Elephant Pearl Jam- No Code
  22. so have they finally gotten over the anti-Creep period? thats two shows in a row they've pulled it out. great to see Street Spirit on the setlist. nice to see a band play songs from every single one of their albums. and the honours are shared around pretty equally just in rainbows naturally gets more attention. i'm losing hope in hearing new songs on this leg of the tour.
  23. ^^ well then i'll be sure to check it out as soon as i can.
  24. ^^ jack and solos?? NEVER!! jack is in a different breed of guitarist. he doesnt live off long self indulgent solo's. he plays music that is enjoyable to listen to and i appreciate that.
  25. since this has turned in a most anticipated album thread also. i might as well post the albums i'm looking forward to i've never really been into any of Pete Doherty's bands but his new solo song sounds really great so i'll be sure to check out the album once it comes out. and Grizzly Bear's latest sounds interesting also.
