  1. has anybody got the new RHCP photobook. its called Me and My Friends and its by their official photographer who has been following them around on tour for the last 17years. its an amazing compilation capturing the band doing what they do best and that is play live on stage.
  2. Paramore: not really a fan of the band but they did a decent job. the singer was very open to the crowd and her bandmates were confident with thier instruments Death Cab for Cutie: best performance of the night so far. despite being a soft indie rock band. they put alot of passion into the show. ben gibbard was solid with his vocals but the bass player was my favourite the killers on now
  3. Kanye did Stronger, Homecoming, Heartless and Love Lockdown. brilliant!!
  4. franz ferdinand did drop a hint during their performance
  5. totally unexpected performance from kanye west. he left australia very dissapointed with some weird antics during his shows. but he seems to be in great form now.
  6. Franz Ferdinand just got off stage. they were awesome for their short set BUT out of nowhere kanye west turns up!!!!! doing stronger now!!
  7. well so far we've had vampire weekend and snow patrol with scott weiland finishing off now Vampire Weekend- lacked energy had no charisma, their music came across as being dull and nothing next to what they sound like on their half decent debut album. very dissapointed Snow Patrol - these guys are great on their day. and luckily today despite poor sound they put on a great performance. Gary's voice was in great form and the band did a decent job in their situation Scott Weiland - his voice is no where near as powerful as it was 10 years but i wont hold that against him. over the last two nights his come across as a rather emotional performer. he feels ever song and u can see that in his delivery. i like this guy despite of his history with drugs and alcohol and paying out on his bands Franz Ferdinand coming on now.
  8. can't wait for the webcast to begin. cant say im looking forward to vampire weekend or paramore. but aside from them it should be wicked especially The Killers, Franz Ferdinand and Death Cab for Cutie if anyone wants to chat with me during the webcast add me on msn. [email protected]
  9. the killers set at KROQ almost acoustic will be webcast at 9:15PM Los Angeles time. http://www.kroq.com.
  10. thanks alot for the link mate. i had no idea about this. the line up is amazing. watched Rise Against who were pretty good. STP are on now and are pretty cool. but tomorow is giong to be the best with Death Cab for Cutie, Killers, The Cure, Franz Ferdinand, Vampire Weekend and Snow Patrol . what a lineup!!!
  11. U2 Film First Video For Next Album by Paul Cashmere - December 13 2008 photo by Ros O'Gorman U2 spent Thursday in London shooting a video for the first single from the next album `No Line On The Horizon`. The video was shot by director Alex Courtes, who last worked with the band on the video for ‘City Of Blinding Lights’ in 2006. Courtes also made the video for ‘Vertigo’ for U2 as well as ‘Giving You Up’ for Kylie Minogue, ‘Woman’ for Wolfmother, ‘Let It Die’ for Foo Fighters, ‘The Fallen’ for Franz Ferdinand and ‘Seven Nation Army’ for White Stripes. ‘No Line On The Horizon’ was due in November but bumped to 2009 at the last moment as U2 decided to keep recording. A date has not been scheduled for the album but having the first video now under their belt means it will be early next year. The title of the song filmed on Thursday is being kept underwraps.
  12. at least when the killers take on a concept or idea for an album they stick to it. unlike coldplay who tried to shove 5 concepts into the one album. i think Day & Age is a superior album to Viva La Vida simply for that reason.
  13. if you loved 70s and 80s rock and didnt listen to any new music i would find that perfectly normal. but the fact that you like bands like green day and the killers yet havent heard anything from this year is quite bizarre. just doesnt make sense to me
  14. Ten is one of my fave albums of all time (second fave pearl jam record after vitalogy) so this sounds awesome. especially the surround sound version of the mtv unplugged and the drop in the park dvd.
  15. ^^ no offense mate. but that has to be the most bizarre thing i have ever heard anyone say about music.
  16. you can find the link to the full arcade fire gig from sydney 2008 in my signature. i will upload the gig in full quality in a few days time.
  17. this week ive been listening to Fleet Foxes- S/T Interpol- Our Love to Admire Angus and Julia Stone - Chocolates and Cigarettes EP
  18. ^^ i've been listening Our Love To Admire quite alot this week. and its not as bad as most people claim. if you block out the very average vocal work, musically its a very strong album. of course its nothing on Antics. any news of a new Interpol record anytime soon?
  19. i recently got Stupid Dream and Fear of a Blank Planet. from what ive heard so far both are great albums.

  21. surprised nobody picked this up. but how about the english domination. 3 of the 5 albums nominated for best album are by english bands. you have leona lewis and MIA and Adele in the best song/record categories. funnily enough i thought 2008 was a poor year for the English music scene. both oasis and kaiser chiefs didnt quite live up to expectations and personally vlv didnt quite do it for me. how come MGMT were not nominated? their album i know has been huge in the states and no one can say it hasnt received great critical acclaim. and it dosnt surprise me that Elbow werent nominated. past winners of the Mercury prize (klaxons and arctic monkeys and dizee rascal) were all snubbed by the grammys. would anyone else agree with me in saying that they need to cut down on the number of Rock categories and add some to the Alternative section?
  22. uummmm.....i know im not a mod...........but last time i checked there was already a Killers thread up and running. ............... and for the sake of not being a total kill joy. as awesome as Desperate is i still cant get over Mr Brightside which may sound a little cliche but its an awesome rock song.
  23. just a quick correction the MGMT album is called Oracular Spectacular and has a song in it called Time To Pretend
  24. ^^ yeh i agree i still like their music even though one of the guys is a total jerk. apparently carlos doesnt do many interviews. now i know why!!
