  1. ^^ nah he still uses the White Falcon (which he bought for about 30 000 bucks) for Otherside. The moment he brought out that guitar was the highlight of the night i saw RHCP. is his Jag red? cos yeh i havent seen him play that since their greatest hits tour. and the Tele he uses only on Fortune Faded
  2. yeh the time was horrible for European and UK fans. but then u have to consider the timings of their first three webcasts all of which were perfect for UK and Euro but horrible for asia and australia. so this one was for the rest of us
  3. ^^ i'll leave the solo stuff upto you
  4. tell me out of all the big name bands around the world lets say foo fighters U2 chili peppers etc etc. how many of them would have the guts to webcast one (well this is the 4th radiohead one in the past 8months) their concerts?? i honestly cant remember the last time a band has done anything like this for their fans. its about time one of the biggest bands in the world stepped up and forgot about making the most money they can and concentrated on giving their fans the best experience possible. yeh i agree a webcast isnt the most original thing but like i said before how many other huge bands are doing similar things FOR FREE, i would love to know.
  5. i will be soon. mainly the cover versions he does at rhcp gigs. and some mind blowing solo's and jams with flea and chad. make jonny buckland look like his never seen a guitar in his life.
  6. radiohead are the only band in the world who know what their fans want and they give it to us!! hopefully over the next couple of years the rest of the music world will wake up and catch up
  7. i think Day and Age will be one of most highly anticipated albums of the year alongside Oasis' new stuff and metallica and kaiser chiefs. just watched the Reading fest performance and the band is looking and sounding better than ever!!!
  8. wow this is awesome i was sooooooo wrong so how much hav i missed>
  9. heard the new chiefs song last night on the radio and absolutely loved it. its called Never Miss A Beat and im really looking to this new album Off With Their Heads i believe its called. but i dont expect them to top Employment
  10. it just says to download VLC player.............i dont quite get the webcast hint
  11. just been following the killers mini-world-tour over the past month and seen that the band has only played two new songs which i find very very dissapointing. whats the point of a pre-album-release tour when you're not going to play alot of new material. at last weekend reading festival the band put on an amzing performance but only played Spaceman from their new stuff.
  12. and people say radiohead are boring!!!
  13. ^^ and brandon flowers is one of the best frontmen of all time. he might sound like his having a asthma attack most of the time, but his an incredible performer. on its own Sam's Town its an average album but live in concert its amazing, some of the ST songs sound better live than the Hot Fuss songs especially Uncle Jonny and Sams Town. love it when he screams WHY DO YOU WASTE MY TIME
  14. they could have the most amazing special effects ever on stage but it still wouldn't make songs like Lost, God Put a smile, Yellow and The Scientist sound any good. the quality of these changes the band have made are embarassingly poor and i think the multi million dollar set up is just to cover up the bands weakness live on stage. i thought Twisted Logic tour was bad enough, this is much much worse. thankfully will is stepping up and showing his many talents im sorry but i just want the raw energy and emotion of their parachutes and rush of blood tours back. just seemed much more genuine and real. i hope all this fancy remix, improvised (theres a difference between changing a song and stripping it of all its worth) shit is just for the american audiences and they've left the real music for the rest of the world
  15. after hearing the album i now know why they called it Lost............they band LOST their minds in the recording of it. how on earth did "mister greatest producer ever" Eno let them put that version instead of the beautiful acoustic one
  16. our local alternative music station has been playing the full album for the last couple of days. personally ive never been a fan of the band, but i really admire the ability of their drummer so i tend pay attention to what they do. from what ive heard of Intimacy its not bad but theres a couple of shockers in there that really turn me off the album. but overall worth listening to (as long as u have a working skip track function on your cd player)
  17. i think for the first time since the 1950s we're not going to have an era defining band/artist. the 50s had elvis, the 60s had beatles, the 70s had led zeppelin, the 80s had U2 and the 90s had nirvana. but this decade we've had such a huge range of genre's being popular on the charts its impossible to pick out one, two or even three bands that stand out at least not in the same fashion that the bands mentioned above did in their respective periods. now getting back to coldplay. if the band had continued the simultaneous mainstream and alternative popularity of the first two albums then maybe i would say they are the stand out band of the decade. if they had completely changed the music scene (much like radiohead have been for the past decade) then maybe i would say they are some what era-defining. the bands lack of chemistry and musicianship doesn't help either. nor does the fact that linkin park have outsold then in the 2000s (45 million to about 35). and their last two albums haven't really received all that much critical acclaim (not that anybody cares). so theres about 4 reasons why coldplay arent the beatles of our generation. simply cos nobody is, personally i think the white stripes, muse and arctic monkeys (and silverchair on the aussie front) are worthy contenders along side coldplay. and Lore agree with you 100% on what you said before.
  18. i have no idea why the band tours down under so sparsely. they came here in 2003 for hail to the thief and they were here i think in 2000 in support of Kid A. but sadly theres no news what so ever of a tour for In Rainbows. i think it has a bit to do with the bands environmental campaigns and touring down here will involve the burning of a lot of carbon fuels (remember how they refused to go to america for tv appearances) if they do use that as the excuse for a no show down under then i think i might be heading to uTorrent for my radiohead music instead of the music stores. if they do tour it will be early next year most probably after they release another album. but im keeping my eyes and ears open for even the smallest of hints of a tour in aus.
  19. anybody get footage off the V Festival broadcast?
  20. may i ask which bands aren't a disgrace? i cant believe people actually have the time to go onto threads of bands which they dont like and bag them out. get a life!!
  21. the bass/keyboard player and the drummer are leaving the band to start their own group called the Doom somethings. Meanwhile the singer/guitarist Andrew Stockdale is going to continue the group Wolfmother by getting new musicians. personally im hoping he stays within australia with his selections. both bands will release new material at the end of the year. should make for a very interest showdown to see which group will be more successful. reminiscent of metallica's first line up change where guitarist dave mustaine left to create Megadeth and Metallica shot to superstardom whilst megadeth became more of a cult hard rock band selling ONLY 10 million cd's
  22. ^^ not quite gone. just a major line up change. im sure the bands sound wont change majorly but it will take a while for the chemistry to build up between andrew and the new members. then again coldplay have nearly no chemistry on stage and their doing alright for themselves.
  23. anyone who watched the first one hour could not of possibly found it boring. it was easily the best show of any kind i have ever seen visually and aurally. yes i admit that the parade of nations is a bit tedious but its always interesting to see what costumes they all wear and hilarious to see countries with 2 competitors and 10 officials. and the random order in which they came out made it all the more interesting (apparently its by the number of strokes in the spelling of the country's name) can't wait to see what unfolds over the next two weeks. sick of all the china-bashing thats gone on over the last 6 months time to let them give us the best games ever (after of course sydney which will never be beaten)
  24. GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH. IN HISTORY!!
