^^ i guess they've really limited the number of preview copies they've handed out to the media. they've been smart enough to realise that the hype and anticipation around this album is big enough without any help from the music media.

im guessing the show is at about 9PM NY time? so thats 11am sydney time and i have a break in my timetable then so wooo i'll be able to enjoy this show at uni!

^^ i wouldnt have a clue. even if you could the viewers choice option wont work. so you'll only get 4 or 5 games a week live.

i never thought i would ever see waters and gilmour on the same stage again so i was genuinely shocked when i saw the news of their charity gig. now they're reuniting AGAIN!! i think one final reunion tour might be on the cards

im sooo happy that a band i discovered right the beginning has gone on to make a great debut. makes it worth being a music lover!

im torn between laura marling and the xx.

the album is sitting at a solid 8.0 for me. the last 3 tracks are a bit of a drag and theres something about down by the water that makes me want to pull my hair out, parts of it are so very beautiful but other parts are sooooo slow and.....well shit. otherwise its an excellent album.

the klaxons are in sydney september 2. tickets are $60 i would love to go but i need to save my money.

at the moment im working through the catalogs of The Doors and Cream so i guess i am more of an artist person but at the same time there are only a handful of artists in my library whose full album collection i have.

yeah even though i love silverchairs music especially neon ballroom and diorama. they are easily one of the worst live bands at the moment, daniel johns is a pompous ****** on stage, he was actually more mature as a teenager.

^^ i think john butler trio will be the "headline" aussie act unless they can get Grinderman. the reason why i doubt phoenix is because they were here for splendour in 09 headline tour this year and without any plans of recording a new album, doing a 3rd visit for the same album seems a bit of a stretch and kinda boring. its so hard to predict these lineups because there are countless other festivals that could steal the big names especially soundwave and laneway. at the moment im leaning towards going to laneway and save myself 50 bucks as well as dealing with 55 000 bogans.

PJ are the perfect band for me because they're the only band i know who have mastered the art of writing heavy, soft AND pop songs.

chemical brothers are here in march so no way. phoenix have been here twice in less than year so no way. the national seem like more of a Falls band. gorillaz have knocked back offers from some of the biggest festivals in the world so no way. my chem romance, hole, STP and arcade fire will all demand to be at the top of the bill or at least near the top, so i dont see all of them being on it. also the fact that LCD soundsystem can sell out big rooms like the hordern at the blink of an eye will mean they deserve a spot on the main stage also. add to that the usual aussie suspects i just dont see where they will all fit in. thanks for the inside info alex. alot of those acts seem very very likely to be at BDO 2011 but the high number of questionable inclusions kinda destroys the credibility of this list for me.

just wondering. does any other country get every game of the EPL live every weekend? down here we do, they have a "viewers choice" option when theres more one game going on at the same time and i honestly can't remember the last time there was an EPL game that wasnt shown live in australia. but i would be rather surprised if we were the only ones getting that sort of coverage

oh dear!! our beloved basement birds have had to downgrade their sydney show from the enmore to the metro theatre. in a city of over 4 million they've struggled to ship even 1000 tickets, and there i was thinking the basement birds hype machine was in overdrive.

got the new Cut Copy song today Where Im Going. they're more an album album band so not going to look into this too much.

i kinda got sick of the whole empire of the sun thing early on. they made a couple of good songs but i think there are loads of other bands who deserve much more recognition than them.

^^ regardless you will have the best 3 days of your life. that line up is comparable to some of the biggest fests around the world, the ones that see 80 000+ attend. splendour has somehow managed to lure in this incredible line up with only 30 000 attending. it is something very special.

why the fuck are the drums and TDCC at the same time!!!! are they freken stupid!! i would be tearing my hair out at friday. there are 14 acts on that day i would LOVE to see live. really hoping triple j broadcast a great bulk of the festival live to air. that timetable also confirms that mumford wont be laura marlings backing band at her show in sydney on sunday. :(
