  1. Me too. All this Xylobrytes or w/e...no way they could do that seriously. I'll have to eat my words if they do, but that seems out there in a way you'd have to explain. And we know they don't always like explaining, despite being the biggest band in the world. But if its MX, I think its too similar to X & Y. Two letters and all. Maybe something else...:\
  2. Unless he referenced my fake story. In which case maybe he did say that.
  3. Actually I said that. And I was kidding...
  4. I've just read an interview that after a fourteen year old girl booed ETIAW at Glastonbury, Chris Martin cried for hours and decided the band have to scrap everything they've written and start all over. Or they will replace Brian Eno with Will.i.am. It's still up in the air.
  5. is this guy seriously leaking stuff??
  6. this is really weird. i really don't believe a word this guy is saying. the band don't try to trick us. despite their "desire" to retain mystery, they aren't at all mysterious. most bands you don't hear from for a couple years, then they announce their album and then its out. we literally have near constant access to the band. anyone who thinks spanish rain and wedding bells will be on the album is kidding themselves.
  7. As does their official website...? Do they simply not know?
  8. That the ETIAW EP won't be out in the US until next week? Then how come I was able to download it yesterday? I really do keep hoping they're acting weird about it so they can give us more songs
  9. i really like etiaw, but not for the lyrics. for me they're just the type i'd sing at the top of my lungs as i drove on the highway or something. lyrics you remember after the third listen. they seem pretty scattershot to me. a lot of disconnected positiveness. which is a lot of fun. i just can't get myself to say there's a complex meaning. and i am often one to read into the meanings of songs...
  10. it sounds like a computer voice - it'd be cool if it was two of us. honestly, i'm surprised at how many of the lyrics seem to actually correspond to that original two outsiders. us against the world is used in the song and in another song. and this moving to mars is collective but is also personal. pretty cool stuff!
  11. Has anyone been able to decipher the words repeated by a voice at the end of the song. I think you can only really notice it with headphones. But it sounds like, "two hundred bubbles two hundred bubbles two hundred bubbles" to me  Update: could also be "tear and pebbles" "human rebels" and so on.......
  12. So it's early Saturday morning EDT in the US and we still don't have news on the release of ETIAW EP from Coldplay. If we hadn't heard any of the songs I'd probably be bugging wondering what was holding them up. Thanks to Coldplay, I've not had to wait and have just been able to keep myself busy in the mean time. But I'm starting to wonder if the delay is in fact a positive thing. Perhaps I'm simply hoping... Does anyone else think we might get an extra song in the US? And obviously that would suck for the ROTW but with illegal downloading these days it really just denies true Coldplay fans the ability to BUY it. Not hear it. SOoo, I also mention this because the band did say that we would have additional tracks and so far all that's been mentioned is MTM. I'm hoping this means Coldplay will bless us with an additional track. And that they also won't let the US wait. Fingers crossed there isn't just a delay due to record company crap.
  13. So I initially really liked Moving to Mars but now I'm at this point where I LOVE MTM! There's a way when you listen to a song sometimes you see little things you would change or you see ways you would have gone about it differently. MTM actually feels...spacey. It's like, everything put together I just get this distinct image of someone floating through space sort of looking down on earth. And obviously that's my visual, but I really do feel the whole weightless of space is somehow built into the song. I don't even know how. And I really love the way Chris starts at such a low register. This being a very different song than Yes, I feel like its really used to perfection in building the song up. The song is definitely not pop in the way ETIAW is (which I don't see as a bad thing) and it's not U2ish (which I think MM is - to its detriment). It's weird in a way because its very different from normal Coldplay with that beat coming in 1:30ish. But they just pull this song off so well. And all the production on the song is INCREDIBLE. Bravo Mr. Dravs, Mr. Eno, and any other who had a hand in this. Coldplay really outdid themselves in my opinion here. The song never reaches too far or tries too hard. It doesn't try to make you cry or shout. It's sort of right in the middle of that. Which is kind of another reason I think it's spacey. It exists in a space you cannot really put your finger on. Moving to Mars lovefest over.
  14. people who are criticizing any new music the band puts out REALLY need to lay off brian eno. the idea that he is the soul reason the band has changed is preposterous. they enlisted him and other new producers to help put these albums out. he is not the reason they changed. THEY ARE. and the reactions of many probably proved persuasive.
  15. based on one listen of MTM, i have to say it'll probably be my favorite of the three tracks we've heard. whereas ETIAW was immediately listenable, MTM feels like its going to have layers I'll pull back to reveal more beauty. I can't wait to throw my headphones on and listen to it! And isn't it funny that of all the songs we've heard MTM is the one song most people expect us not to see on the album? and I don't know who else feels this way, but it sounds like this song is EVERY coldplay era combined to PERFECTION.
  16. I liked the song so much more live to be honest. The sound popped a lot more. The studio version is too muddled. You can barely hear Chris's voice, Johnnys guitar or anything. They also don't give him the same part after the first verses. Maybe they'll do another version of the song (ala Lovers in Japan Osaka Sun Remix) where they add those little bits in. Who knows. Live I'd give the song an 7 or 8. But the studio version is like a 5 or 6 at the highest. It's kind of a boring song...which I haven't felt a Coldplay song was since the X & Y era.
  17. People only use the acronyms in context...it makes it easier to type. Obviously the difference between MM and Major Minus isn't more than two seconds for most people, but who cares...it's just easier. And people only do it for songs with at least two words... Please realize it's only to do with context. You don't see anyone referring to What If as WI or White Shadows as WS. Because no one would understand without thinking...but in a thread about Major Minus or...MM, who cares.
  18. I would be very surprised if none of these songs made it onto the album. I really REALLY would not understand the band putting out a single they didn't plan on being apart of the album - by which I mean ETIAW. If anything I think Major Minus could be left of the album at this point, as even though they've incorporated Major Minus Media into the clothing, it doesn't seem like they'd release two album songs before the album. I expect another song might make references to MM - as Coldplay's lyrics are often interrelated in albums and eras. I hope MTM is good!
  19. LOL at the person who thought they were so great for finding the lyrics...
  20. the website said plus additional tracks - so it kind of should be at least two more songs beside MM and ETIAW. I hope there are more songs in the U.S. Store - not that I'd want to deprive any Coldplay fan of songs. I'm just hoping they haven't given us less. Not that it would matter - two new songs is still great.
  21. so I'm on iTunes and it shows this thing called a book but which apparently included Lhuna as a song??? Does anyone else know about this?
  22. whaaaaaaaaaaat??? where did you pre-order it? and why has no one commented on this yet?
  23. it may be worthless to point this out at this juncture in time, as coldplay will probably make it clear to us soon, but Major Minus IS NOT GOING TO BE A B-SIDE On Coldplay's website they have it posted as ETIAW/MM. Meaning MM is not demoted to b-side nothingness. The boy's were pretty clear about A Spell A Rebel Yell being a b-side when they gave it away to NME a few years ago and it doesn't seem to be any different, in clarity, than then.
  24. If these are your only reasons to not like the song, I suggest you at least reconsider your auto tune issue. If there is a recording artist today who does not use auto tune in some form, I would be astonished. You see, it's in songs like ETIAW where its obvious that you shouldn't worry. Because that's when the auto tune was apart of the artists creation. Its when its masking the deficiencies of 50-60 year old singers and simply poor singers, in ways you'd never really pick up on, that you should worry. Anyone whose voice you think is just them...it probably isnt. Why else would so many recording artists sound different live? Note, I say all this because I was once someone offended by the use of auto tune. I thought it was a mask. The thing is, sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't. And in ETIAW, at least, it's not used to make Chris's voice "better". Just to make it different. AND anyone who would argue that it is acting as a mask in this song, please tell me does Chris's voice usually sound like it has electricity in it??? Cause it does in ETIAW. There are a ton of Coldplay songs that use auto tune. Strawberry Swing for example. And the unfortunate thing is I think the band do use it to clean up Chris's voice a lot of the time. Maybe not all the way back on some Parachutes tracks but since and during AROBTTH...they've been using auto tune.
