no no i didn't mean their albums have been good or better than MX. if anything no line and how to dismantle were two of their weakest yet, but on those very two albums there are a few truly brilliant songs. and thats what i meant. U2 can still come up with great songs after decades. and honestly, you don't think 360 was worth going to?!

we are! its only when you explore some of the amazing stuff out there, be it alternative, psychedelic, punk etc or whatever else everyone is into here that you realise how mediocre coldplay's recent stuff is. the fact is at the moment they're not the best band in the world nor the biggest. just because we see them filling stadiums doesn't mean other bands don't and can't. i was listening to some U2 the other day and i thought wow they can still come up with a masterpiece after over 30 years. now thats how you earn "the greatest" or "the best" etc. coldplay still have a looooong journey ahead to earn those titles and certainly not with anything like MX.

again it seems some will adore and worship whatever the band comes up with. its not even an animation and they left jonny's riff out (best part of the song) which is fucking stupid and that alone goes to prove its nothing more than an ad. that doesn't change anything!! yeah we would have been very excited about the comics ( as we were) but the music video would still be rubbish. to love everything they do just doesn't make sense to me the comics=brilliant. absolutely fantastic idea. showcasing the band's creativity and genius. HLH video=crap idea. bad execution. marketing gimmick.

people who dislike the video are generally overreacting. a lot of you guys really have to lower your expectations with coldplay. every one of the MX music videos has been crap! Paradise is way too disney (i know the band don't take themselves seriously but elephants? come on! certainly excited the 14 year olds) and ETIAW was also very cheesy with them jumping up and down etc. and lets just forget CB and PoC. as others have mentioned, they come nowhere near their older videos, much like the music actually. so just accept it for what it is

well if anyone is "offended" by it they need to get checked out!! it is crap but i don't see how it could offend someone?!!

absolutely brilliant stuff on Living Things. their music just has that rare edge missing in coldplay's music (and a lot of other bands actually). my absolute favourites are castle of glass and lies greed misery

the old stuff is always there if you wanna listen to it. i dont like MX so i skip it just like i would a few tracks here and there from their older catalog. but as Abracadabra very rightly pointed out, if LP6 doesn't satisfy me, i just wont want to pay to see them live again or buy their record and sorta lose interest. doesn't mean i would stop listening altogether. but thats what happens in music right?! we all lose interest in our favorite artists at some point plus its not like they're going to put out a masterpiece one after another! a rush and VLV were the band's best piece of work but again as you guys pointed out, they're not going back
