its certainly nice to see X&Y has so many admirers. its definitely their most underrated album. but is it better than a rush?! never in a trillion years. yes its some people's favourite album from the band, but so is MX(which is ridiculous), and that doesn't mean they're better albums. nothing they've ever done will come close to that. and never will the direction they're going. VLV came close but....

i didn't find it funny at all. but then again i don't find most of it funny since the whole show is based on taking digs at everybody. used to be original up to season 4 but then went downhill

you're right. out of the three though i think coldplay will come out triumphant in the next few others more so than the other two. and i just cant get strangeland. and they released like 3 or 4 singles in a month or something i cant keep up!

i don't think we do at all. it would take years of friendship to even know your best friends properly. whilst i too have known the band for ages i think unless you lived with them in the same house for a while its impossible to know who they really are or feel like you know them personally. but they seem to be pretty amazing people who make amazing music so i bet everyone around them feels lucky

am i the only one here who is very glad coldplay wasn't involved at all? you couldn't possibly get more cheesy and mainstream than the Olympics. plus lodon was nothing compared to beijing! the opening ceremony was just ridiculous.

guys im sorry i dont mean to be rude but none of you, except MichMoch and anyone who actually lives in the middle east, HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. the current situation in the region is incredibly complex and as someone who has lived both in the middle east and the west, i can tell you its not what they feed the population through propaganda on Fox news and your daily mail!! so my point is if youre ill-informed about something dont bother to comment no pointless arguing on a coldplay forum while sitting on your comfortable chairs at home thousands of miles away will save the lives of the innocents tortured and killed everyday

:thumbsup: its funny cuz they've never mentioned pink floyd as an influence i think i even asked the oracle once what the band thinks about PF but of course she didn't answer very true i suggest you listen to verve guys some of their psychedelic work is pretty amazing. shame coldplay decided to go all mainstream they had potential for a floyd-esque record

yesssssssssssss what a fantastic thread. honestly i have so many emotions towards this album i cant even explain it. all i can say is it changed my life in so many ways. it is by far the best coldplay album to date and for me the greatest of all time and the only music record better than anything pink floyd ever came up with, or any other band for that matter. VERY TRUE! i think it will take more time for people to realise what a masterpiece it truly was :thumbsup: everyone :heart:
