  1. jesus christ i didnt even know there is a thread about this fucking moron on coldplaying! i am disappointed. and please people, this was very obviously calculated and deliberate and he knows exactly what hes doing. just think of the attention and media coverage focused on the matter for the past couple of days. it is a HUGE publicity stunt and hes lovin it! so please, i beg you, if you hate the fucker just ignore any news on him and STOP commenting on the internet.

i just think they've reached a point in their career when they need to take a long break from releasing anything (hiatus if you wanna call it that) and reflect on everything starting with parachutes and before that all the way to MX. what they have/haven't achieved. if they have/haven't made a great contribution to music. if they have/haven't done anything groundbreaking. was MX for real?!! etc etc etc but yeah i agree with you more time doesn't mean better music at all. in fact as you said a rush proved the opposite

you're right chris is likely to go to london whenever they're recording. and also it will be better if its delayed. i'm thinking a 2016 release would be great. they need to properly take their time with this one. YES. it would be interesting to see who they bring for production. hopefully not the previous team

i don't think they've started seriously working on new material. chris seems to be always out and about in LA. but the rest of the guys have definitely been in the studio. how and where their recording or exploration/experimentation takes place is what matters. they need a third studio in the US since chris has moved there so they can all be at one place for the music
  5. the first half really creeps me out for some reason :anxious:, so i always skip it. the second part though is beautiful. best part of the album along with the whole of Major Minus.

very true. doesn't necessarily make for great music though

HLH, DLIBYH, ETIAW are NOT rock, not matter how hard people make them out to be. in fact i only count major minus as rock in that album. you're right about the other songs though.
  8. fantastic news. it goes to show again a rush is by far their best album. but as Coeurli said its a shame nowadays a lot of people only know paradise, viva and a few other songs. of course its not the greatest album of time by any stretch of the imagination. but it is the radio's listeners' FAVOURITE. excellent news :)

that is exactly my problem you see. why do they feel the NEED to be anthemic and do trite happy sing alongs?! why do they want to please a wider audience so much?!

best parts of your reply: the Smiths, Morrissey, Pink Floyd and Amorphous Androgynous! but seriously i do respect your views wow sharp eyes! I don't personally go into other people's avatars or think of them too much. i just happened to find that particular picture intriguing; unaware and untroubled by the outfits. and trust me if i didnt care about the band as much as everyone else around here i wouldn't waste my time on this forum. for all the years of support i've given them be it through buying records, merchandise, seeing them live etc i do believe i have the right to request whats to my liking, just like everyone else whos spent a cent or an hour of their time on the band since their earlier years (a lot of whom, unlike me, stopped supporting them long ago). plus nowadays you don't have to google anything. all the good stuff is out there just waiting to be discovered.

what i want is for them to take a 5 years hiatus; because they've become too big, mainstream and pompous for their own good, so a few years away will surly be for the best. and then come out all pink floyd. no silly costumes. no ooohs, no aaahs and no oooaaahs. and no synthesizers. and no brian eno. i want 20 minute psychedelic tracks. i want jonny going absolutely mental on the guitar with more will and guy

just thought i should point out since a lot of people are led to believe that. you're welcome :D yeah very true and they seemed pretty confident with whatever was going on. its either they weren't being serious OR they weren't happy with the direction it was going so they ditched it
  14. this one they definitely 100% deserved. congratulation boys. and can i just say will and jonny look absolutely fantastic. so much better without the silly outfits. these fucking morons will just never go away. i say we raise funds on here to hire a contract killer and then ask him to run them over with an M1 Abrams

the sitar and santoor are originally ancient Persian traditional instruments (Setar and Santur) and not indian. Iran's neighboring countries and others then adopted their own variants of them. persian music and indian music are however entirely different and not similar in any way. traditional Persian music is focused on philosophy and mythology. THIS!

guys it just occurred to me what they're doing next. since i think the next record will be the end of a trilogy, they'll follow with another "concept" album. so silly costumes and all. aaand its gonna be 80s pop music scene. the outfits will be something like this: and the music will be along the lines of what pet shop boys were doing at the time

they don't necessarily have to go back to a rush of blood. trying to do another rush of blood would end up in tears as we saw with X&Y. so we don't want that at all. but coldplay 2012 doesn't resemble coldplay 2002 in any way imaginable, except they're the same band with the same people. so maybe we just want some of the old magic. for them to go back to their roots and rediscover what made them so good in the first place. their 3 latest albums have each disappointed a lot of people but maybe MX more so than the other two. with every month and year that passes by since its release and after all the hype has died down, the album gets more and more dreadful for me. i'll just try and pretend MX and some of the stuff on X&Y and viva never happened and look forward to whatever they're doing next. i so want them to blow us all away in spectacular fashion with the greatest album ever!
  19. thank god they didn't win anything. didn't deserve it so its alright
  20. i cannot understand how people could argue this extensively over the internet! must get pretty exasperating after a while. how do you guys keep it up?!
  21. no its not heavy at all you're right. but as i said the ending is epic
  22. yeah GPASUYF for me as well. then its Politik, 1.36, A Whisper, 42, Major Minus. One I Love, Murder and the end of I Ran Away are also EPIC!
  23. this is a pointless debate. its like asking which is better: the aventador or a 2CV? reading through the first couple of pages on here was pretty depressing actually!
  24. hah brilliant! do the same exactly. so powerful it moves me every time. same with the rest of the album. can't get enough of it after 10 years
  25. lol people buying more guns!! i have to say this is greatly amusing from the outside. shame they aren't buying RPGs and tanks. I'd pay to watch that! and theres also these insane nut-jobs who genuinely think the world is about to end so they're stacking up on food and more guns. honestly what world do they live in?!!!!
