I'm still waiting for them to utilize strings like Elbow and Travis do. in fact Coldplay used to do it a long time ago! unbelievable right?!

after a lot more listens to Atlas I've realized it doesn't actually resemble any of their earlier work at all. yes it has some of the elements like piano and guitar, but what song doesn't?! the production is still very similar to MX although toned down a bit. and none of the instruments sound as raw as they did back when. plus jonny's guitar at the end has ETIAW, DLIBYH and UWTB written all over it. so overall it feels to me its a song written and created in that era but kept for this particular occasion. and now I don't want LP6 to sound like this at all. still a very good song though.

I feel like I'm in the clouds when I listen to it :happy: that doesn't even make any sense. usual nonsensical coldplay bashing. I read the comments on another website and they were all referring to coldplay fans as "gay tweens"! you get the sense they're some fat useless oafs from kentucky who get a kick out of insulting people on the internet so they feel superior and less emotionally disturbed.

I just cant get enough of this song! its been constantly on repeat since thursday! I hope it gets the credit and respect it deserves. its a million times better than Skyfall or any of the recent great soundtrack songs.

I don't think they're in need of a major producer anymore. at this point in their career they're capable of finishing a record all in-house and can I just say Atlas raised my expectations for LP6

remember Christmas Lights?! we all thought how fantastic it was but at the end it wasn't similar to anything they did on MX. I really hope this doesn't happen with Atlas.

in the low quality version it sounds electronic but after listening to it with better quality I'm not sure. right when jonny's guitar kicks in its definitely not electronic. the chorus and jonny boy's work at the end

this song is seriously EPIC! EPIC EPIC EPIC! after the huge disappointment that was MX I was on the verge of a breakdown leading up to the release of Atlas because I kept being pessimistic and thinking its gonna be like MX. but I'm glad I was very wrong. the song is in fact so good I wish it wasn't released as this film's soundtrack. I'm gonna ignore the movie and the possible music video so it doesn't ruin the feel of the song for me. I'm also interested to see who did the production on this, because they've certainly learnt their lesson after MX now I really hope they follow with this on LP6. a ubiquitous positive reaction from their core fanbase would certainly send a message.

I already like it a million times more than anything from MX! sounds very good but we cant judge the whole song yet gotta wait till tomorrow. somehow it sounds like old coldplay but I cant quite put my finger on why! I cant control my excitement :D

Safe House - 6/10. a clear ripoff from the amazing Bourne series but still okay. Amazing Spiderman - deserves no rating. probably the worst superhero movie and piece of trash in the history.

interestingly I think X&Y was a very very good album but it didn't meet the expectations I guess. still sounded like Coldplay at least which I'm not insinuating is a good or bad thing its just the way I prefer it. pop doesn't rally deserve respect because 95% of it is utter crap; specially anything from the last two decades. MX is probably the best pop world could come up with along with a few tracks from pet shop boys, madonna, celine dion, take that, and a few others.
