Ah I love the trilogy, but I would rate it similarly to how you rated it haha Maybe I´d be more generous towards Sunset. :) My favourite and the one I watch more often is Sunrise, hands down :) To me its like the most romantic non-cheesy movie ever :D

Yes, I love this about them actually! Most artists when you shuffle their catalogue you kinda know you´re gonna get a variation on the same theme, so to speak. With Coldplay you go from Spies to Politik to Paradise and from Everglow to Chinese Sleep Chant *lol* I love this because it keeps them so fresh through the years for me anyway. Very good points. I can imagine though that the production is to define how you want the whole album to feel/sound, like a background theme, so it makes sense they would pick the production they did for the kind of overall mood they wanted to create. But yes inevitably it will "hinder" some songs perhaps. After all you can have a lot of genres but not usually multiple productions! hehe I think though that they will go somewhere totally different for album 8 mood-wise and production-wise, different than the previous trilogy MX/GS/AHFOD. Sometimes its also too easy to judge the band only by their last 2-3 albums, not knowing where they are gonna go in the future. I for one do not believe that the last trilogy will define their sound forever cuz they will need to change it up and do something different, but yeah only time will tell.

If you liked Indiana Jones lego version, you'll like all other lego games. They are so good :)

That sounds more like a recipe to ruin a song forever to me haha I trust you, but I think I´ll wait a couple more years where I hope those memories won't hurt anymore, then maybe the songs, most probably actually, will take on a more positive meaning and Ill be able to listen to them again. Incidentally I want a few from that album at my wedding, including Green Eyes, so I´d better be ok with them by then! hehe :)

Oh yeah I love that movie. The scene at the airport in the end is where they play the Scientist, yeah? :) Cool way to discover them :) And isn't great we have Shazem now, so we dont need to search obscure texts on Google to find a song! I dont even want to think of back when there was not even Google...oh the dark ages hehe

I agree with Coldplay trying to channel all their influences but I dont agree that it is to aim to please fans of every genre. I think it inevitably ends up pleasing only versatile fans. I mean even people who just love Beyonce of Justin Bieber will only like a handful Coldplay songs (they will probably ignore the ones they cant dance to or ballads like Everglow or Amazing Day or Birds). So I think you hit the nail on the head there when you said if you dont generally delve in all the aforementioned genres you won't enjoy a Coldplay album in its entirety and arguably you won't enjoy all 7 albums either (as they span so many genres). I totally agree and I can see why you would wish a more straight forward more genre-constrained work by them. Time will tell how they will evolve, but so far they seem to really be absolutely eclectic, which ultimately will fully please only eclectic listeners.

Super dead thread haha I am a huge fan of adventure games, though I play quite a few action games as well. Off the top of my head I´d recommend: Adventure : Longest Journey/Dreamfall/Chapters trilogy Syberia Gabriel Knight Wolf among us Moebius Broken Sword .... There are so many others I love and its good the adventure genre has gotten a revival thanks to Kickstarter too :) Other games All the lego games (I just love them) Star Wars Force Unleashed I and II Star Wars Clone Wars Indiana Jones DuckTales Remastered Anyway I hope someone might post here or to another thread about gaming. I am a big gamer :)

This looks like a dead thread...but I´ll post anyway. Currently reading "Career of Evil", the latest in the Cormoran Strike novel by Roberth Galbraith aka J.K. Rowling. I love mystery and whodunnit and Jo writes beautiful prose :)

Oh yeah I noticed this in several places, where its written one thing and he sings another *lol* Probably the lyrics we see are handwritten earlier drafts? Still I wish they were more accurate. And tanzaku star..that got me wondering too haha But I think it just means colourful paper stars?

I love the album but I cant listen to it much anymore. Its too depressing for me, most of the tracks remind me of years and years of sad memories, about something beautiful, but still sad.

And I dont wanna come across as presumptuous or rude here but I AM a fan too :) And I do feel they still make albums I can relate to.

I hear something different here. I dont like R&B and yet I like Hymn, I am not too crazy about ballads and yet I like Everglow. Thats simply because I like Coldplay songwriting style, so I must say I hear their "stamp" all over AHFOD as well. Even the songs Chris gave away to Natalie back when you can hear they are Coldplay songs. I think they managed quite well to navigate different genres while keeping their style intact. Now if you think their songwriting style is exclusively the first two albums, then thats another story :)

*LOOOL* So funny....ok I´ll try. The goat is best seen with a small pic of the cover, mind you..so keep it at a distance. The long ear is well the long ear under the goaty chin. The mouth is the same as the human mouth, the nose just above it and the oblong black spot on the top is the eye. I cant believe I managed to write that with somewhat a straight face haha

Dance-y yes but not right down dance pop imo. Hymn is too R&B to be pop, Birds is too alt , AHFOD is too rocky hehe I am splitting hair aren't I? haha Sorry if it came across as such. Sometimes I tend to get nerdy about stuff :)

Oh wow what a setlist. I am agreeing more and more with Chris when he says they´ve never had a better setlist than the one they have now, both the short ones and the longer ones. Cant wait for the full one at the live shows.
