Amazing live performances here! I loved Princess and I absolute adore Sky full of Stars! I get simultaneously teary-eyed and exuberant every time I hear it. I just absolutely adore this song, means so much to me...so glad its prominent in their performances so far. I´ve not seen it live yet, cant wait!

How about putting this on the vinyl thread? It cud need some life, poor thread hehe I have the vinyl, I´ll see if I can upload a pic of that if no one does it before me :)

I like how you phrased it hehe I totally agree. This can be extended to any "mental box" we like to put things into, even people. Its find to try to define something or someone but there is always the risk that the definition becomes a cage...so yeah I totally get that they want to write free of the "traditional" boundaries. Glad you are starting to like it. I dont feel so alone anymore haha But hold on a second..."looking at the lyrics"?? Where are they? I did not like Kid A hehe But no doubt they could make more experimental tracks (and I like to add X marks the spot to that list, say what you like about the track but its experimental as in a very new sound for them) and make them sound still melodic , still Coldplay. I dont think an album like this is to be excluded, in fact I think it might be likely even. It all depends on how much they want to tour after AHFOD hehe Because a passionate live band like Coldplay could never have put on the shows they do with a catalogue solely of Parachutes or "Kid As" hehe But yeah I´d be happy to see such an album ! I always wanted more tracks like those.

I always do that with a new album I really love! I wear it out until I must listen to something else or my ears will explode haha When Midnight was released as a teaser I thought it was the most brilliant thing I´d ever heard from Coldplay! SO innovative and beautiful! I´d very much welcome more collaborations or songs inspired by Jon in future Coldplay albums.

I think you will inevitably disappoint someone when making any album. Cant please everyone I guess

That thing that is missing which you crave is I believe the organic sound :) Synths will give a whole different feeling to a song than pure organic instruments and I can understand how one might prefer the latter.

I felt similarly when I heard "Good for you" by Selena Gomez. (Only Chris cud have made me check out a song by Selena, but im glad I did haha). The song I love, but the video looks like a soft porn flick if you mute the music *LOL* I guess it shows the disconnect between what are clearly some talented songwriters behind some of these songs and the shamelessly commerciality of the videos. No need to draw the "sexy video" card when there is a solid song there....

The one for Paris? If thats the one you allude to, it may very well be the exception to the rule as I dont think it will make it to the live shows, but this is one instance in which I´d love to be wrong :D
