  1. Coldplay don't need to take anymore shit for being on a show widely viewed as a show for girls.
  2. He was good but she is just flat out terrible. Kris is cool because he's musical and all, plays guitar, great voice. But when she sings she just can't seem to pronounce anything correctly and it's almost whiny. She is just an average girl that american idol made "semi-famous" and for some reason it annoyed me when she started clapping and getting the crowd to do it. hahaha. I really don't know why, but somehow I don't think she should be allowed to do that to a coldplay song. Kris is fine, because he appears to have legitimate musical talent. Her, I don't know. Yes, I know I'm being too harsh. Overall I enjoyed the cover.
  3. that bitch totally stole your harmonica. look at the video he was staring right at you!
  4. RIP Viva Era. The best part is you know they will somehow find a way to outdo themselves once more.
  5. jonny goin bald....
  6. happy 21st birthday ME. and chris... happy bday
  7. haha really? I was standing like 11 people from the front in the center if that helps any. I didn't get into line until about 2 in the afternoon.
  8. Thanks for the comments guys. I thought it was awesome how he was comfortable talking to me as if I was anyone he was meeting for the first time, not just some crazy fan. He's a really normal down to earth person. Thanks, yea I was at the UCL union bar last week and thought of the boys.
  9. Honestly, I dont think theyve completely left the Bakery. It sounded like the rest of the boys were in there working on stuff. Maybe they use both studios for different sounds. The Beehive might be for some of the more acoustic tracks.
  10. Alright. So I've been living in London on an exchange program since October, and decided today after i finished lectures I should go to the Bakery. Since, after all, I had not been yet and I'm a huge fan. I went not expecting much since the boys apparently been at another location to record. I walked by it and took some pictures and I saw some movement in the window, so I knew somebody was there. I decided to do one more walk by just on a small chance I might see somebody, and BAM! Guy Berryman was out there lighting up a cigarette. I knew I had to talk to him. So I just said "Excuse me, Guy Berryman?" and he said "Yea", and I just asked if I could shake his hand. He of course obliged. Then he actually just started talking to me, as if I was anybody else. We talked for a few minutes. He asked me where I was from and what I was doing in London. He asked what course I was doing. He's a really nice guy(no pun intended). I of course told him how much I appreciated his music and I asked if they were working on new material. He said that they were working and they are hoping to get something out by the end of the year if possible, which is fantastic news clearly. He also said things with Apparatjik were good and said the show in Berlin was good. Man he is such a nice guy and clearly appreciates his fans. I told him I was going to walk up to Hampstead Heath to get a nice view, and he recommended that I check out the area around Hampstead tube station since I had never been before. That was it. He let me snap a picture too. Score. I thought it couldn't get any better, but as I was walking through Hampstead Heath and saw Gwyneth Paltrow pushing a stroller around. She had the hood of her jacket on to try and cover up, but I noticed that blonde hair and face instantly. Anyways, I didn't want to stalk so I continued on. The view from Hampstead Heath was a good finish for the day. Man I was so lucky.
  11. Hello music lovers, I'd just like to tip you off to a band I truly believe will make it big. My buddies's best friend is the guitarist and he knows the singer well too. They all went to college(the singer went to Stanford) after high school, and broke up shortly, then decided they wanted to pursue their dream so they put education on hold. They have already opened for Kings of Leon. They are called "Young the Giant", but they just changed their name. They used to be known as "The Jakes". They just signed a record deal and are working on recording their album with grammy-award winning producer Joe Chiccarrelli. Here's their Shake My Hand EP they released when they were just 18 fresh out of high school. It's really good stuff. The song "Cough Syrup" is amazing. http://mediafire.com/?vyidzjqinmj enjoy
  12. if anyone else want to download my mixtape feel free: http://rapidshare.com/files/342710620/CP_Mixtape.zip.html Also a review would be appreciated since my person seems to be MIA.
  13. Alright here is my review, sorry for the delay: Unfortunately, when I opened all the songs in iTunes all the details were there. I cant complain too much because now I don't have to enter them in. My person also provided a list of the tracks, and one song was missing. 1. Slow Poison - The Bravery Great song. I've never heard it before. THe singer reminds me a bit of Interpol or White Lies. Simple driving beat but some good synths goin' on in the background that are pretty catchy. 2. Leave It Alone - Operator Please Nice violin intro. Female voice, pretty good. I'm pretty sure I've heard this before but I can't think of where. Catchy melody and punchy bass. 3. Cousins - Vampire Weekend I just saw them perform a free concert in London a few weeks ago. Haha. It was a great concert even though they lost power 2 songs from the end. The did play this and it was awesome as usual. They sound amazing live, and they have some good song writing skills. 4. Oh My God - St. Vincent Starts with a soothing plucking guitar with some bass notes to set the mood. Than a soft female voice comes in with some flutes. It's all very relaxing and mellow. Not something I would listen to often, but it's good for those times you just wanna chill out. For such a simple song, it has a deep meaning with lyrics "The drink goes in the devil comes out". Clearly talking about an abusive relationship. 5. Your Protector - Fleet Foxes Starts with a few flutes playing. Male voice comes in and the song builds up to the chorus where all the instruments come in and the melody is oh so catchy. I love it. This song has a feel unlike any other i've really heard. It's unique and I'll have to check these guys out. 6. Summerboy - Lady Gaga Haha oh man Lady Gaga! I still haven't decided if I think she is a man or a woman, but in this song she certainly sounds like a woman. I have to say she sounds better in this one than most of her bigger hits. It sounds more natural and it is an upbeat song. No complaints here. 7. Stylo - Gorrilaz Never really listened to these guys. this song has a pretty nice techno beat laid down with some good melodies being sung on top of it by different singers. It's a well put together song, but it doesn;t do much for me. Not my style. 8. Vienna - The Fray Ah yes, The Fray. I like these guys a lot. I think they have potential to go to the top tier of music. Songs like Cable Car, You Found Me, and How to Save a Life are sooo good, but this one really shows of the singers voice a bit more. It's a more mellow song dominated by vocals and piano. Really good stuff. i actually had tickets to see them in San Diego but ended up not being able to go! 9. Untitled - Yoko Kanno Starts with some percussion, imitating something that sounds like something running. Thats what I get from it. This i more of an orchestral work. Strings and brass come in and the percussion soon evolves into an underlying techno beat. It sounds awesome with the brass on top of it. Im a trumpet player so soundtrack stuff like this is really appreciated by me. I love the soaring melody from the violins. It sounds kind of like a video game soundtrack. definitely an interesting piece and fun to listen to. Some of it sounds sinister, while others sound heroic. it ends on some ugly notes to leave you feel tense. 10. For You - Coldplay Enough said. Great song clearly. Had it already but always nice to listen to.
  14. is there anyway to attend this? or is it televised only.
  15. how did they manage to leave out U2 and Radiohead? that makes sense....
  16. i can't believe people actually believe this shit
  17. i would do anything for that guitar. sweet lord. too bad i dont have money.
  18. anyone else notice chris sang "I know st. peter won't call my name" instead of "once you'd gone there was never.." haha
  19. Wedding Bells is actually a sad song if you listen to the lyrics.... haha. powerful stuff.
  20. I think this could largely be the result of pirating music. I think it's safe to say though that Coldplay as a band became bigger with X&Y.
  21. Jonny is definitely pounding down a beer before the encore. good man.
  22. didn't they say the next album might be based around a story? If they decided to do that, I think it's safe to say the next album will be somewhat themed around a wedding. Wedding Bells must be a complete song by now if they've gone this far with it. Honestly... I hope not EVERYTHING is based around a wedding. I personally have no problem with it... but I could see other people that may not like Coldplay so much, just calling it "gay"(thanks 40 year old virgin). But hey, I know the music will blow me away.
  23. no they get irritated by him self deprecating himself
