COLDPLAY IS NOT UNORIGINAL!
Ok I agree to Lovers in japan to some extent it sounds very much like U2, but not the whole time. Maybe Coldplay sounds unoriginal to people who just know their biggest hits. Well they've made so many different songs, the new album is also a proof for their originality, I've never heard such a sound from another band. The same with Parachutes, or do you know someone who did something similar to Don't panic?

Coldplay on "Wetten, dass..?" (ZDF, ORF2, SF1); January 24th; *FIRST PAGE UPDATE*
I've seen the performance with some friends who aren't Coldplay Fans. They did not pay attention to Chris' jumping but to Wills' bleeding nose they said he maybe had a fight before the show  One friend said Chris is good looking, I agreed :) To me Mirjams' English sounded not that bad. I don't like her as a host so I was a bit annoyed by her because she was talking all the time. I wanna hear the guys!!!! When they could say anything they were as great as ever.

The WORST song on the album!!!!!!
At first it was not my favourite track but now I think it's a song that makes you happy and it has a positive message so I like it. I especially the acoustic version. I think it's a perfect song for your car. Today I drove to work listening to it and there was a beautiful sunrise in the sky and that fit so well to the lyrics. Magical moment.

Whats the difference?
I can also hear a slight difference between the songs. I like the version on the lp better because it's more dynamic and a bit clearer and colder, if you know what I mean. You can hear Chris' singing better on this version. In my opinion the Osaka sun mix is noisy and not so clear. But the Osaka Mix has also its advantages. The additional backing vocals are great and the guitar is louder I think and it's better that there is no Reign of love after the song. Anyway the best version of Lovers in japan is the acoustic one. The should have put this version on the ep.

Coldplay men still hot even without music??
I don't find anyone of the Coldplay boys really attractive by the outside appearance but I can imagine if I would get to know one of them better I would probably also fall in love. Even without their music they are still the same creative, profound persons. Chris' humour is also very attractive. A woman loves a man with whom she can laugh a lot. And yes, the accent is sexy :-).

One Coldplay song that fits your life
Trouble would be my song for my life in the first half of 2008..actually it's the whole song... Trouble is also the song who made me a Coldplay Fan this year... O no, I see, A spider web is tangled up with me, And I lost my head, The thought of all the stupid things I'd said. O no, what's this? A spider web, and I'm caught in the middle, So I turn to run, The thought of all the stupid things I've done, And I never meant to cause you trouble, I never meant to do you wrong, And I, well if I ever caused you trouble, And oh no, I never meant to do you harm. O no, I see, A spider web and it's me in the middle, So I twist and turn, Here am I in my little bubble, Singing I, I never meant to cause you trouble, And I, I never meant to do you wrong, And I, well if I ever caused you trouble, Oh, no I never meant to do you harm. They spun a web for me, They spun a web for me, They spun a web for me. I love the lyrics...

I Think The Acoustic 'Lost' Is The Better Than The Normal!
I really like both versions, but I still think Lost! is a bit better: Lost! is the more powerful one and it fits better into the album (especially to the cover, I think). The beat, the choir and the organs underline the message of the song. I like the vocals in the background between 2:48 - 3:30, for me it expresses that nothing is lost and that's why I like the song so much. But please leave the Rap away, that version is so horrible... And Lost? is the more reflective version, maybe that's why there is the question mark behind the title - ooh I'm smart today :laugh3:. Chris' voice leads us through the song, you are able to listen more carefully to the lyrics. The piano stays in the background. What I don't like about this version is you don't have the feeling of victory at the end of the song.

Chris Martin's Voice!!!
I just read something like they are using computers for Chris' voice on VLV in this forum, and in parts of Yes his voice sounds extremely deep; so I'm still wondering. I also would not expect something like that from Coldplay.

The Church of Chris Martin. (Update: Have declared a TRUCE to the holy war on Coldplaying!)
Don't get me wrong I love Chris Martin and I am not very religious; I just do believe in God. I think the whole thing is a bit blasphemic.. How can they seriously allege something like this - it is actually not worth to talk about, sorry but those people are crazy... Oh I would also like to post I nice photoshopped Chris: You probably know it buit it's so funny...

Chris Martin's Voice!!!
Yep, finally a thread just for his voice. In general I'm a fan of good voices and Chris Martin's voice is so great, he has one of the best male voices I know. He can express everything: joy, pain, anger and even indifference. Not every singer is able to do this. Some always sound the same in my opinion and are anyway known as very good singer, for example R. Kelly, George Michael, Freddie Mercury, Jon Bon Jovi and so many more. So I think Chris he is a very good singer, even if his voice does not always hit the notes live. To be on stage almost every day and giving interviews all the time is also not good for his voice. Remember his voice is not an instrument you can tune or replace. And his voice has changed over the last 8 years, when he was younger he sounded different than today, maybe he was better live but just because his voice was not I really love Coldplay's instrumentals, for me it is the best aspect of Coldplay - but without Chris' voice the songs would not be the same. And also a plus: his british accent always shines through but it is not annoying, Robbie Williams is a bad example for this. Best example: The scientist - nobody can sing this song except of Chris and this time his singing carries the song, not the instruments. Not every song is dominated by his voice, he can also hold it back for example in almost all the songs of Viva la vida. I also love his voice in Politik, a song in which instruments dominate the song but I was surprised how he was able to express with his voice the change of the song to its second level (2:53 - 4:05). In Green eyes he does not sound as usual, that's also a great attribute of his voice; he can change his vocal tone. High speed - again his voice supports the instruments to unfold the effect of the song - I adore his voice the whole song along but especially the second bridge (we've been living a life inside a bubble...) and of course the chorus. Spies is a also a prove of his brilliant voice. The high notes at 3:03 -3:27 are amazing; he really expresses the panic, so great. There are so much more songs I could name, but that's boring so I stop here :laugh3:. Now there has to be a negative example I'm afraid, I just want to be objective. I don't like his singing in the beginning of Fix you. It does not to fit to the instrumentals and he does not sound really honest as if he actually does not like to sing the song. It is getting better in the second half but the beginning is horrible. I also have a few questions to you: I love it when he sings together with someone else as in AROBTTH. Is it always Johnny who sings in the background? Do you really think his voice was toned down with a computer on Viva la vida? I am not sure.

why is LOST! so popular
Finally I can also listen to Viva la vida and death and all his friends...and I have to say I love Lost!, I love the organs, the beat (ok I'm not totally against RnB or HipHop) , and the message (I'm just waiting til the shine wears off ) and especially the whole part at the end with just the organs, I always wanted to hear something like this... In my opinion the beat even underlines the message of not giving up... without the beat it would not sound the same strong way. Somehow Lost! reminds of an old song of Alice Cooper :D, but don't ask me which one... Edit: I know which song: it's Hello Hooray but just the chorus...

Gwyneth...
This story is real crap, I'm sure she made up some parts. But Chris is not the only celebrity victim. I think that's the price for fame - people from your past come up and tell **** about you.

Gwyneth...
I don't like her new perfume.
