  1. Back then I had hope ETIAW was just a hiccup, too. :disappointed: :bigcry:
  2. I agree with everything you said, perfect comparison to movies! I just wish that I could see a substance or deepness in the songs. It's not there for me, there's no emotion when I hear the songs. Other bands capture that better for me at the moment. On top of it is Archive but I also want to put these two examples: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnHNB-ktuOw]Band Of Skulls - Cold Fame (Album Version) - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8OH8Uautpk]Fink - Sort Of Revolution - YouTube[/ame] Absolute  :awesome: And it's not like I don't like "poppy" songs. Maroon 5's Moves like Jagger is stuck in my mind for days already for example. It's just that those new CP songs do nothing to me and the fact that I like the band so much makes it so much worse.
  3. I thought this was a CP free zone! :freak: :dead: I can't contribute much to this thread but last weekend it was a year already since the Wembley concerts. In celebration of that I played my setlist CD all day on repeat at work. :wacky: I hadn't listened to them for a while and it felt so good to listen to Muse again. (I'm in a Fink phase at the moment actually, so totally different :)) Hope you're all fine, big hugs. :botoxlips:
  4. I am not reading everything in the CP section (too many fanboys and simply too many posts) but if I can recommend one thread in there, it's this one: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=88320 It's a lot to read, I know. But there are some great posts in it, starting with the first one. Please check it out if you have the time! (I want you to read it and not write my opinion here again hehe)
  5. It's impossible to check everything here and I've just gotten home from work... but there I played Paradise to a colleague who has a young son. Her very first reaction upon hearing the song was: "That's from Shrek!! Go check it, it's the same!!" She likes Coldplay, too. She played the LRLRL CD more than me at work! Neither her nor my boss like the new direction. LP5 (still refuse to even type the name) will probably be a huge success. But I agree with what has been said - it's just MADE to be sung in stadiums, I don't see any real substance or relation to my life or feelings or whatever you want to call it what made me love their other songs so much, having goosebumps, dancing like crazy or singing my lungs out to lyrics that actually mean something to me. Another great post, thank you very much and welcome here! :nice: Exactly this. Make that 4 out of 4 misses for me. ETIAW, MM, MTM and now Paradise - all do nothing to me. I don't feel any need to listen to those songs. And I was so looking forward for it all to begin again and meeting up with some of the awesome people that I met via here at concerts. :disappointed: I wouldn't have ever thought that I'd feel this way. Hell, I never cry but during THP at Wembley it hit me that I'd not have experiences like that concert for a long time. Now I don't think I'll have them again. Yes, maybe I exaggerate now, I want to and I can, this was yet another bad day as a CP fan for me. Again, I totally agree. It's because we like them so much that makes the disappointment so huge. And all those comaprisons to bands that changed their sound and accusations that we wouldn't like it if their sound stayed similar: For me, bands like Archive and Snow Patrol are perfect examples that it can work. Archive have 8 brilliant albums and I love them all, none is the "same" but the sound AND lyrics have a consistency and "deepness" that I just miss in CP's last releases. I  this thread.
  6. ^ Just to let you know before you start asking questions. This account has been banned because multiple accounts are not allowed on the forum - not because of the insult. :) Yossi, don't hide and stay nice. Now please back to the OP, his points shouldn't be drowned in Yossi interrupting because Mark has put into words so wonderfully what I wasn't able to say. Hope to see you around here for a while. :)
  7. What an amazing first post! :awesome:  Thanks for putting my thoughts into words. Welcome here! :nice:
  8. Thank you lots for sharing your experiences and pictures, Lu'kaa! :nice: Sounds like a really exciting day!
  9. I agree with what Denise has said. Thread moved from MM to general Coldplay forum. Additional comment from NumbersGirl: Will be merged with similar thread.
  10. Hehe, nice find! Anyone watched the youtube video? I wouldn't have been surprised if they made an animal eat it and then cooked the whole thing or something only to show that the stick would survive.
  11. Good suggestion! :awesome: I already did, it's awesome.
  12. Nice article! Thanks for posting it here. I've been listening to COITD for about 5 times in a row this morning - dancing to it in my PJs haha  Even FE is growing on me tho I still think it should just be an intro and then become a heavy guitar-driven Muse-like song afterwards. :P
  13. Page 100 already... wow. Have a nice weekend, everyone! :)
  14. Some posts in here have just been edited. May I please remind you all that direct download links aren't allowed in the public forums. If you see links posted please report the posts. There are youtube versions all over the net already, please stick to posting those as your direct links will have to be removed by us. Thanks! :nice:
  15. Hi, there was this thread for the previous tour: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50298 Maybe you'll find something in there. I can't really remember the songs that were played before they came on stage at the festivals I went to. :embarrassed: Maybe someone else can help you on this one... I'm pretty sure though that it'll turn out to be a Jon Hopkins song. :)

coldplay "Tonight in a TV studio in Paris, Paradise was played to an audience for the 1st time. http://twitpic.com/6ihuzg Sounded massive to me. R42"
  17. I still find the title hilarious because of reasons pointed out earlier in the thread already... could as well have been made by a spammer! I loved playing X&Y at work in 2006. It didn't disturb or wasn't requiring too much attention. That's a good thing for me, not a bad thing. And I don't think albums should be long or short or inbetween a certain time frame in general. Well it has all been said already: the content is what counts! Good night everyone! :nice: EDIT: To stay within the spammer interpretation - it's not the length that matters, it matters what the artist can do with it. :P :wink3:
  18. I'd record for you if I could. Pretty sure it'll be on youtube or a download on TTB soon as the broadcast finishes tho... Oh ok, I'll go check out FE at Maida Vale! I've already heard the studio version after all hehe Just bought the EP btw so I can play it at work tomorrow, only 2,18€ on amazon. Sorry you didn't get tickets. Enjoy your game tomorrow!!!
  19. Hey guys! This seems like the place I want to hide at right now. Wow, the forum went crazy with new threads while I was at work. Can't keep up, don't want to keep up. :P I think I won't listen to any Shepherd's Bush videos with new songs... I'll wait for the album. :) (Because I always liked their live versions so much better - kind of "self protection" not to listen to the recent concert recordings hehe) Hope they'll come to a venue close to me soon!!! I can't travel much or for long in the next months... but I so want to see them live again! :bomb:  Do you think they'll do it similarly to CP and put songs on the album that are already on the EP? I want to buy it but then at the same time I'm a bit sceptical about buying songs twice.
  20. You guys like to speculate and worry about everything, right? We'll see soon enough! It'll be shorter once I've deleted ETIAW! :P
  21. Busy board! Looks like everyone jumped out of their chairs to come to this site after the blog has been posted! :laugh4:
  22. *points to "" under her user name* Yes, even we have opinions and feelings we can't hide all the time.
  23. This! Major_Love, everyone knows what you think of the new stuff. You haven't left out a single opportunity to let everyone know! Now please do also accept that not everyone simply has to agree. You won't change people's feelings, no matter how hard you try.
