chris' guitar tuning is so wrong! it's a specialized one for this song! you CAN play it 1.5 steps down, true, but it will NOT sound correct as the original! it does not sound bad, no, but not as on the record... or live....

ok, i guess you are looking for a Guild GAD 50E! about 800€, pickup system, dreadnought without cutaway, available as sunburst and natural. (chris is using a guild guitar at the moment, btw.) or try a MARTIN GUITARS DX-1E (~700€) TAYLOR 210E NEW (~800€) but you need too try that out, hear the sound and feel the guitar anyway!

VERY roughly ;) it's only correct for the first 2 bars(or4?)... well, just the 4 first bass notes, because it's not repeated but goes into the F# again.... move your ass, haha! ;) (not for me, just want to give you a kick , :laugh3: )

that' an E-Bow, didn't you know? (you could even read it, if the vid was HD) also listen to the album version of Spies, the intro is played with slide+e-bow in swallowed in the sea, before the whole band starts to play, you can hear it, too... whaere else? phew, don't remember as of yet... oh, on see you soon.... the E-bow can be bought in most music stores with e-guitars or any bigger online music retailer.... not that cheap, but what effect is cheap? (95€ here, likely to be about 100$ in the US, for canada? no clue...) how it works: one coil, like a guitar pickup, is over the string to pick up the vibration (inductive effect...), driven into a small (tiny!) amp and put out again over a second coil. the note played will be sustained forever/till the battery runs dry. cool thing actually... with some training, you can make your guitar sound like a violin/cello (see e- BOW ;)), or a recorder etc. the feedback-like effect is the second mode (only with the ebow plus, but they are not selling any othr ebow anymore, so you will have this), the harmonics mode. this adds - who knew? - futher harmonics, but you mostly realize the octave above or below the original note... sounds cool, eh?

1 nothing special, we already knew for ages! 2 chords are incorrect, because chris uses his thumb on the low e string

sorry, i don't like it as "rain"! generally good sounding piece - the shortness is exactly what this song needs (in germany, we say "in der kürze liegt die würze", but i don't know how to say this in english... ;) the meaning is the one from the sentence before) hm, either try to find another title or rewrite the song... raindrops are falling down, not up and they also tend to fall and not to get stuck in the air all of a sudden - that's what you express right now musically... and the longer, cutting, sphere-ish tones paint a picture of a moving object, moving through the rain... that's my impression of the song...

flute = recorder? (or do you mean a german flute = transverse flute ?) well, either way they are C-instruments, so they will sound correct with the piano sheets... @Gitarrensolo ([german]was ein name, genauso wie Blumento Pferde ;) [/german]) well, but in general having a c-clarinet would help ;) and also, you'd need to transpose it if you want to play along the song... (because a solo clarinet... well i guess you have to like the sound)

there is a tab (i got it), but we don't have it online as of yet
