A rush of Blood to the Head cover, with soloing
eek, as QuestionsOfScience said - did you tune your guitar? i don't think so, aww, better do that next time! the intro - errm... ok?! i don't really like it, it seems so planless. actually, i cannot decide whether i "laugh" or "just sit and cry" Waaay to go, but not too bad... i have seen worse...

Billie Jean
first riff (he plays that quite a while, 12times) A|-10----8-10-8------------ E|----10----------10-8-10- riff2 (played 2 times, then back to riff1) D|-10----8-10-8------------ A|-----10----------10-8-10- oh, and palm mute that stuff well! finally, he plays: G|-5h7--5---5h7- D|-----------8------- though i prefer to lide instead of doing a hammer-on just for so: the main notes that the others play (chirs & guy actually) are: (to riff1) G-A-Bb-A (to riff2) C-D-Eb-D

Billie Jean
the "people always told me, be careful what you do..." - part? easy, only 3 chords: ---Eb--Gm--D7 e|-3----6-----7 b|-4----8-----5 g|-3----7-----7 it's Eb-Gm-Eb-Gm-Eb-Gm-Eb-D7 how often etc. you have to play it, you'll have to find out yourself

Billie Jean

Guitar solo books
um, stephan, if i may remind you: you wanted to send me a copy of the Parachutes tab book as scans/pdf (or whatever) anyway :D um, great idea! if you talk about real solos that are not in the studio versions, start with AROBTTH of live 2003, please ;) btw, the vlv tab book HAS all the solos (correctly) - i disagree with you in Chinese sleep chant totally and in lost! you'd have to add the 0 on the high e string everytime

yellow effect?
check your keyboard, i guess your caps just got screwed while posting , haha ;) simply use an delay. delay time is the speed of yellow (or half the tempo you strike the notes on guitar) and as distortion... well, try it with 2/3 of gain... HOWEVER: i'd use the zoom for delay, i don't think you can set up the delay time on your amp,. can't you?

stawberry swing
ooh yea :D i love the way the play the songs... I LOVE these Stripped versions - not completely acoustic, but not as much as on the album! gosh, i'd love to hear some more of that... god put a smile, in my place or violet hill (what a challenge! not easy to "strip down" violet hill)

How can I practice PROPERLY with my band?
lucky me, my bassist isn't that bad at all! he just started playing and well, some slapping is there and of course finger picking.... the only one who makes me sad is my drummer, he cannot take lessons right now... but he will start this year so i hope it'll work...

Don't Panic Harmonica Tab...
haha, guess what, i've been playing don't panic on harmonica all day! i just play it by ear acually... first of all, you need a blues harp in C, not any other! just try this: 5--6-5-5-5--6-5-5-4--4----4--4-4--5--6-5-5-5--6-5-5-4--4----4--4-4- b--b-d-b-b--b-d-b-d--b----d--b-d--b--b-d-b-b--b-d-b-d--b----d--b-d- jonny isn't a good blues harp player... it's not accurately played... oh, btw: if you don't know: numbers = nuber of the hole; b = blow; d = draw; and that part is of course played after the 2nd chorus... have fun edit: the numbers are correct now

How can I practice PROPERLY with my band?
1) get the bassist to take lessons or look for a new one! as harsh as it sounds, the only way! 2) get a bigger room, or at least one where you got all your instruments, and i mean ALL you instruments including drums! 3) meet once every two weeks or so, that you practise together etc.; meanwhile, everyone needs to learn their stuff at home... 4) forget about performing! practise the songs properly until you have at least 5 songs which ar (nearly) perfect - THEN think about performances. 5) when practising together, start off with a known song you can play best. then try the new stuff. do that like 2 hours, and have a break inbetween. then you play some known stuff again and finally you have a little jam session - for ideas and fun and stuff :D good luck!

What kind of strings does Chris Martin use?
and well, isn't it more the guitar making the sound, not the strings? but if you say "strings" = "a 6-string": he used a Martin guitar back then (too many martins :D Chris Martin used Martin guitars and according to QuestionsOfScience he had strung it with Martin strings.) if you say strings = violins/contra basses/ celli etc.: 1) i don't hear that kind of strings in see you soon.. THAT would be jonny using has thinline + slide + e-bow 2) in other songs they would be digital strings-sounds from yamaha keyboards if you say strings = the 6 metal strings on a guitar: phew, dunno... QuestionsOfScience said they're Martins....

Covering LITii?
i don't wanna be rude, but hey, does nobody see how many new threads are just popping up about the same topics? you definitely find a lot, if you'd only use the search function... i think that's something we all need to learn sooner or later... i've also been told to use the search a few times ago... sorry for having a little hyperventilated over that.... so don't be peeved, k?... acoustic: chords (in general): Intro- A Verse- F#m - D - A (1st time play only the A, half of the verse, then continue normal) verse last time/leading to chorus/chorus last time: F#m - D - A - G#m - F#m - Esus4 - E - A Chorus- F#m - D - C#m you can play this in standard tune but also EADGC#C# (6 to 1) use the thumb on the e string; A: 5-7-7-6-0-0 F#m: 2-4-4-2-0-0 D: 10-12-12-11-0-0 G#m: 4-6-6-4-0-0 Esus4: 0-2-2-2-0-0 E: 0-2-2-1-0-0 C#m: 9-11-11-9-0-0 electric: the intro is pretty hard, find out yourself! (if you cannot, then i'd do some tremolopicking with a lot reverb on the C#, D, E and A notes = 14, 15, 17 & 10 on b string) afterwards, you'd have to play the powerchords according to the actual chords with some soft crunch, also pretty quiet, not too loud... bass: as stephanbass said, in his thread ( http://coldplaying.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3261112&postcount=95 ) you'll find the correct tab drums are quite easy... i'm not experienced in writing drum tabs (quite annoying after some time :D ), so i'd better not, BUT your drummer shouldn't have any problems finding them out, they really are not hard to play

Covering LITii?
DOUBLE, SORRY

Covering LITii?
ok first of all: PLEASE (and now i mean everyone) - STOP OPENING NEW THREADS ABOUT THE SAME STUFF ALL OVER AGAIN! phew... ok, you'll find the guitar parts as well as the bass here on coldplaying in the instrument room - OPEN your eyes! and if your drummer was just a tiny little bit talented, he'd know what to play anyway... i mean, come on, LIT is not that hard to hear (/tab by ear) ! all you need is here on coldplaying already!

electric guitar pedals
it's a cheaper version of the typical Ovation guitar... it's actually not woth 1000$ oh, wait a sec... haha :D it's not worth 1000 USD, but 1000 AUD.... yeah, that makes sense :D that's a good one... though not an electric :D but closer than other acoustics... good choice btw.
