  1. Is EW's definition of "greatest" synonymous with "biggest"? Because if it were BIGGEST, I'd say the list is actually accurate. But "greatest" implies quality, and that's a big hell no for about 20 of these artists.
  2. Some of you guys are still going to be asking for Famous Old Painters as your last dying wish on your deathbed in 70 years from now.
  3. Youtube was huge back then too, but since then it's seen integration into basically every outlet of media, especially social media. Also remember that Viva la Vida's video didn't release until many months after the single was released.
  4. Define "underrated". Most singles are not underrated. Charlie Brown and LIJ are popular as hell, even among casual Coldplay fans who don't listen to full albums. Non-singles? Certainly. That's the way it is with most bands, whose best songs aren't singles at all.
  5. Honestly, B-sides in general are dead. A few bands still release them, but most will now feature either remixes or live tracks as B-sides instead of cut material, which are being reserved more for EP's and deluxe editions. Which I honestly believe is more practical than releasing them as B-sides anyway. More people hear them and they're easier to get a hold of.
  6. Parrot Dies, because it's obviously increasing at a much faster RATE. 6 months vs. 4 years.
  7. Wayne Coyne is a crazy bastard. I love him.
  8. Contacting the venue is definitely your best bet. When I saw Muse in Anaheim, a couple was able to propose on stage before the show too. (so it wasn't WITH the band) I don't know if every arena would allow such a thing, but if you want any shot at it at all, you need to ask the venue, preferably ASAP so they have plenty of notification. Good luck, man! :)
  9. SALE is Thursday. KROQ shows don't have presales anymore. You'll need a special street team password. Sign up at kroq.com for it if you're not already a member (which you really should be if you attend shows in SoCal). I'm willing to bet the $177 ones are pit tickets. There are extremely few and I doubt you'll be able to get any. They'll go to radio winners.
  10. I'm honestly very surprised that Weenie Roast was able to book Coldplay. Usually the lineup has a couple more big names than that (last year had Linkin Park, The Strokes, Rise Against, and a surprise Foo Fighters performance), but they usually aren't as huge as Coldplay. Weenie Roast is always in June, so obviously they held it a month early this year just so they could catch Coldplay while they're already in LA. Since Weenie Roast is a huge blend of everything KROQ plays, it generally doesn't appeal to me as much as Almost Acoustic Christmas, so I'll pass on this, but good luck to everyone getting tickets. Seriously, I mean GOOD LUCK. KROQ events are the most difficult shows in all of LA to get tickets to in my experiences. Oh, and everyone had better enjoy the hell out of Garbage and Of Monsters and Men. Don't go JUST for Coldplay, considering how their set will likely only be around an hour. ;) That's how these KROQ shows go. Lots of bands but short sets. KROQ shows are also always webcast live so stay tuned for that if you aren't going! ;)
  11. Her spring break is LATE? My spring break isn't for another week! You Texans just have it early. :p
  12. A sequence about halfway through the song was taken and modified. And the original creator of the "leak" has now even admitted it. So it's debunked via the original leaker coming forward. Stop believing material unless it's from the band themselves. ;)
  13. Aaaaand it's just a layered version of "Soaked". TOLD YA SO TOLD YA SO TOLD YA SO. Thank God I don't have to eat paper. :laugh3:
  14. Calling it now. Fake. We've had too many fake "leaks" of this song already. If I'm wrong, I'll eat my words. As in, I'll print out this comment and shove the paper into my mouth.
  15. $71 for good seats at their LA show? At an all seated venue? Hell no. As much as I want to redeem myself for that Kimmel letdown, I'm not doing it for that much.
  16. It's too bad this video is being shot with a camera instead of a flamethrower.
  17. Went to the first show of their tour last night. Recorded two of the new songs (they played about 8 new ones and 5 Conditions tracks) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2A7Dh6kQ2rc&context=C4a5986cADvjVQa1PpcFMsIOIRDVqPnD-AohzwXN_zZBmnsAmMvvc=]The Temper Trap - "Need Your Love" - El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles, CA 3/19/12 - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVjiFqyWSRM&context=C4a1baa2ADvjVQa1PpcFMsIOIRDVqPnLd7Wmh0avm1FFFwq3E7E0k=]The Temper Trap - "Where Do We Go From Here" - El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles, CA 3/19/12 - YouTube[/ame]
  18. 8.4? Pitchfork thinks it's as good as Neon Bible? Oh dear. Personally? Most disappointing album of the year so far. I liked "Wincing" a lot more than many people, but this is just an all-around bland effort, with the first two tracks being really good and then the album just takes a nosedive.
  19. And this is like the 10 billionth Muse-related example of why you should never trust a thing from The Sun/Daily Mail/etc.
  20. Heeheehee, she's a good friend of mine and told me the same things. She has photographic proof on FB, for those skeptics. (I take partial credit for pressuring her into stalking him. :P) The Teignmouth gigs occurred before The Resistance was released, so perhaps we'll get another few shows for material to be debuted?
  21. Goddammit. I had tickets to see Keane tonight on Kimmel and got turned away because they overbooked for the interview guest (Dr. Phil, ewwwwww). I've done Kimmel a bunch of times before and that's the first time I've ever been turned away at the door. Wasted 4 hours of my life for nothing. :(
  22. It's certainly a better lead single than "Spiraling" was (which is one of their worst songs IMO), but at the same time, it's really safe and generic. Though after PS and Night Train, I'd say that's a better path to take than not. So I'll be quiet until I hear more songs.
  23. Thanks, I'll let her know. :)
  24. Haha I knew Bing was born in July too, just because I remember the time I ran into Matt was a week after he was born. Which I guess makes me a creepy fan in and of itself, so never mind. :laugh3: The lullaby stuff worries me but I tend not to believe a lot of what Matt says about their future direction, especially this far out. It's a case of "Chris Martin Syndrome" - just saying meaningless shit that sounds good in an interview. Matt's notorious for this stuff.
