  1. Not sure what Wolf Gang has to do with Robyn, considering they're two entirely different genres, but whatever, I've seen both live and both are great. Caught Wolf Gang several months ago only knowing a couple songs, but his whole set was extremely energetic and brought a decent early-day crowd.
  2. Biased. :dozey: (I don't think VLV is outright crap by any means, but it's a steep drop off from their previous albums.)
  3. Moving to Mars doesn't belong on MX for the sole fact that it's actually decent.
  4. Hated Eurasia on record, thought it was much better live. Guiding Light live made me consider shooting myself. Sadly, guns weren't allowed in any of the venues. I actually loved Unnatural Selection. Resistance was...middling. Transitioning it into Starlight was stupid as hell, though, since they're basically the same song.
  5. Undisclosed Desires live was like Broadway intermission. Time to nap or pee, or if you're trapped on the barrier, time to take pretty photos for 4 minutes. Sadly, it's probably popular enough to bring back next tour. Eww.
  6. Pretty sure Prelude is separate just because Survival is currently only available to purchase without it. Just think of it like Interlude on Abso. That and I don't want to see the equivalent to Undisclosed Desires since that song deserves to be forgotten in the deepest abyss. :P
  7. I like how the mainstream market here in the U.S. is just now discovering her. :laugh3::rolleyes: "Have you heard that new Lights song by Skrillex's girlfriend?" "Yes, I've had it on my iPod for 2 years now dammit."
  8. Whenever I think of the word "madness", I think of the band Madness. :laugh3: I called "Follow Me" being this album's obligatory cheesy ballad everyone hates in the style of GL and Invincible back when those track names were first leaked like 4 months ago, and I'm sticking with that prediction, especially given its similar placement if this track order holds true. (on a side note, my gf was drunk in my car a few nights ago and started singing "Bliss" out the window at almost midnight and it was pretty much the funniest thing ever)
  9. I had to miss their show here in LA because it was inconveniently scheduled in the middle of my finals week, so I probably won't get to see SP at all this tour (they only came to LA once on the previous tour so I doubt they'll return).
  10. Wait...he'd forgotten the lyrics to "How to Be Dead"? Weren't they playing that song like...every damn show last tour? I haven't seen them this tour (probably won't) so I wasn't aware they threw it out of the setlists. Funny as hell, anyway. Gary's a master of on-the-fly stage banter. Oh, if we're doing lists: 1) Somewhere a Clock Is Ticking 2) Make This Go On Forever 3) Set the Fire to the Third Bar
  11. The Fray still exists?
  12. Didn't even know these guys had a release date yet for their 2nd album. Honestly, I got a little burnt out on them after last year (playing every fest ever will do that) but looking forward to it anyway. Besides, my conversation with Sam about Chris Martin being a douche is still probably the greatest conversation I've ever had with a musician. :laugh3:
  13. Not joking, I did it with Coldplay. I doubt it'll happen with Muse, though, just because even if Muse goes in a negative direction with this album, they won't stoop to the crowd-pleasing lows that Coldplay did for the sake of popularity with VLV and especially MX. Changing to be "like Queen" is a whole different beast than changing to be "like whoever has the #1 hit at the moment regardless of genre". I mean, I don't really like much of what U2's put out since the mid-90's, but I still love them anyway. They changed, but not for popularity reasons.
  14. Wembley isn't gonna happen for me. Period. I could very well go to a dozen North American shows, but flying overseas for Muse just isn't gonna be practical for me yet again. Not to mention a dozen shows here wouldn't cost any more than flying to 2 shows at Wembley.
  15. If the 2nd Law is Muse's MX, that would mean I'll be disowning them, declaring them dead, and being ashamed of all the money I've spent on them over the years. (except more so because I've probably only spent a few hundred on Coldplay while I've spent a couple thousand on Muse tickets and travel expenses :P)
  16. :laugh3::embarrassed: I'm a guy. :P But yeah, wasn't insulting anyone in particular.
  17. In a typically difficult American market to crack, what are the advantages and disadvantages to opening for a massively popular act in front of an audience largely unfamiliar with your music? How do you approach this differently from a festival set (like your captivating sets at Coachella) or your own more intimate show in terms of audience engagement and setlist choices?
  18. Because we still like discussing the older Coldplay albums? And because we enjoy the community in other parts of the site? Heck, World of Music to this day continues to provide me with great new music discoveries. Honestly, the term "true fan" disgusts me, no matter what fanbase of what form of media we're talking about. Blindly liking everything somehow makes you superior to other fans? Ridiculous. No, not everyone who likes MX is blind, I realize that. But fans pissing on other fans to feel better about themselves is something that 13-year-old boy band fangirls do on their Tumblr pages and in their middle school locker rooms. Fans are allowed to be critical. In fact, with a critical viewpoint, those moments worthy of praise can shine even brighter.
  19. The USoE comparisons are what give me a shred of hope, because after USoE was first released after that scavenger hunt, I HATED it. And yet it was 50,000x better live, and most certainly the most improved track from The Resistance in a live setting. (unlike Guiding Light, which still sucked :laugh3:)
  20. Already did it. Like, 30 minutes after the song first aired on Zane Lowe.
  21. Best Coast was a fun meme for a while. I even own the official Snacks the Cat plush. Then she made a statement about how she wants to stop being known as the crazy indie cat lady who talks about weed, so then people completely stopped caring about her and realized how boring she is live.
  22. Every Teardrop Is a Muserfall :embarrassed:
  23. Meh. I hate MX and I hate a pretty decent chunk of Viva, but I can go back and listen to Parachutes and AROBTTH, and they're just as good as ever. So as someone who thinks that the band does indeed suck now, the answer is no, they haven't always sucked. That said, I'm surprised a professional blogger is writing an article like this now instead of 8 months ago when venting off steam about MX was a lot more relevant.
  24. To be fair, that is totally your fault for expecting a Maroon 5 album to be something other than a "horror". :P
  25. Apparently shortly after it gets played, though U.S. iTunes Store is stupid and usually waits until Tuesdays to put new releases on sale. Regardless, you can probably download it on .mu sooner than iTunes.
