**RESCHEDULED**[9-Feb-2012] Coldplay @ Jimmy Kimmel Live, Los Angeles, CA, USA (airing 26th February
Most Kimmel shows are done around 8:30 in my experiences, but check-in for this is earlier than usual. I assume that's to fit more people into the expanded format, though. I have General. I assume Priority went to both the very first batch and the radio winners. First time I haven't had Priority for one of these shows but oh well.

Anyone in the LA area who did NOT get into this show want my +1? You will be required to meet up with me beforehand for entry, so PM me and we can work out details if you are interested. :) EDIT: Hold on a sec. Have a pending offer but not confirmed. Will update this. EDIT 2: Fell through. PM me if you want it. EDIT 3: Gone again.

Holy crap, I just randomly checked 1iota on a whim to see if last-minute tickets were released for this due to people turning theirs back in from the postponement. AVAILABLE. BAGGED THEM. See you guys there. http://www.1iota.com/show/view/Jimmy_Kimmel_Live

Don't see why it would be a problem. They're forced to comply with the postponement. :) EDIT: Just realized I'm supposed to be in downtown Hollywood on Thursday night for class purposes. That's gonna piss me off so much dealing with "Coldplay traffic" and then knowing I have to deal with paperwork in an office instead of seeing Coldplay for free right down the street.

*laughs hysterically at everyone who tried to camp only to be rained out* Sucks about the reschedule since this is seriously the first rainy day down here in at least 3 weeks, so hopefully that Club Nokia show can keep you guys happy over the slight delay. Honestly though, even though it might be longer with the expanded show format, every Kimmel show I've been to has only been 5 songs and it's not worth camping like a standard headline show.

Wasn't able to get into this particular show, but I've attended a bunch of Jimmy Kimmel's outdoor concert tapings before and they do enforce the no-camera rule, including point-and-shoot. (their policy used to say no phones either, but they've thankfully dropped that ban) I have, of course, seen a few people get their point-and-shoots in anyway, so it's not like they'll hunt you down and seize you if you do successfully sneak one in, but just know you're taking a risk. Otherwise you'll have to settle for iPhone video and photo quality. :/ Have fun, guys. Should be quite an event with the expanded area.

New Coldplay eh?
The "Lovers in Japan" video was extremely flashy and jumpy and yet I still liked it. But this is more of a random rave mixed with tweens jumping and kissing. I'm mainly disappointed because in spite of my immense dislike for the album, "Charlie Brown" is one of the few tracks I legitimately enjoy on it. The band hasn't really had a good "storytelling" video since GPASUYF way back when, and that's okay since a lot of them have come up with creative ideas to overcome that. I wasn't a huge fan of a lot of the songs on Viva either, but I thought all the music videos for those songs were great (I think LiT2 is a very overrated song but I think the music video with the puppets is still awesome), so it's not just my distaste for MX speaking here.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
I regularly quote that interview to fellow Musers, often when I myself am drunk. "I'm heading for greatness" has become part of my daily dialogue, and of course, "FUCK OFF YOU ****" is fun to yell at another Muser even when you're sober. I still love Chris randomly dawdling in the background and pretending like he doesn't know Matt or Dom.

- Charlie Brown Music Videos (Live & Studio - both videos in first post)
Most people here know I'm a huge critic of the album but "Charlie Brown" is one of the 2 tracks I legitimately enjoy. That video was absolutely atrocious and I will attempt to blank it out of my head upon future listens to the song. At least the "Paradise" video knew it wasn't being serious. But this feels like something pulled out of a cheesy preteen romance film from 10 years ago. I understand wanting to promote the glowing wristbands, but I'd much rather it have been done in a fashion like the "Fix You" video and just used a gig crowd at the end.- Gotye
It was a brief show for a Jimmy Kimmel taping that was WAY more packed than I've ever seen his shows (we got there earlier than normal and yet got a way worse spot than usual, but not a horrible spot), but for a free show, you can't complain. He played: In Your Light Eyes Wide Open Somebody That I Used to Know Heart's a Mess State of the Art- The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
I want another drunk interview this year.- Mother Mother
Have a friend who loves them and is always making me listen to them. She is, of course, Canadian. :P- Arctic Monkeys!
Have fun, guys! Always a great crowd for AM in my experiences. Never the most mindblowing performance or anything but they can really work up a crowd.- The Shins!
- Coachella 2012 Line Up
Haha, not quite what I was getting at. :P But probably. And at every 3-day festival I've been too, the grass has been destroyed and turned into muddy slush by the end of the 3rd day from constant trampling and lots of beer getting dumped on it. (in a sense, that means the Stagecoach country music fest that takes place the weekend after Coachella's weekend #2 will be a 5-foot swimming pool of mud)- Gotye
Just found out a few hours ago that I'm seeing Gotye next week. It's time to learn his material really quickly. :laugh3:- The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Hoodoo was one of the biggest growers in Muse's entire catalog for me. So was Soldier's Poem, actually. Heh, I ran into him myself a couple times last year, so I'm gonna pass on tonight's Vicky Cryer show just because I don't really like their sound and I already chatted Dom's head off last time. Plus I'm sure he will be mobbed by creepy fangirls since this is a much larger show. October b-day here too! :D "I Belong to You" is my ultimate guilty pleasure song. It totally un-Muse-like and the clarinet feels like it's in there just to be wacky and bizarre, but it's also fun. TAB kicks ass. I admit to belting out that last verse really loudly in my car frequently. Good luck, lol. The Resistance picks up dramatically in the second half, so if you're lukewarm on it, stay with it a bit.- The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
A friend ran into Dom at the first Vicky Cryer show last night and he did verify the October timeframe for the next album. So things are still on schedule. BTW, "Map of the Problematique" is far and away the best song they've done post-Absolution. Most of BH&R is good, though to be honest, I hate the shit out of "Invincible". (though thanks to the music video, I now have the song in my head whenever I go on It's a Small World at Disneyland, which is probably still preferable to the actual It's a Small World song which is the song from hell)- The Snow Patrol Thread
Final Straw will probably remain their masterpiece since they seem content with keeping a nearly identical sound for the past 3 albums. Yeah, the latest one has a few electro vibes, but most of the songs still sound just like anything on Eyes Open or AHMS. They're forever the safest band in alt-pop-rock but they're good at it.- The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
They have an official forum on their website, but it's full of assholes. I'd recommend muselive.com who has a pretty decent fan community and offers gig bootlegs and other fun downloads.- The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Popping in for my monthly post. Vicky Cryer is playing again this weekend but I'm not going. Because, ya know, I think they totally suck and not even Dom Howard can save them from sucking. So I'm having some friends who are going squeeze info out of him about Album 6 progress (and out of Tom if he's there). Guiding Light...ugh, the pain I've endured repeatedly with that one. I will be so glad to see it gone next tour...and replaced with something just as awful. :laugh3:- M83
Am I cool for listening to M83 before "Midnight City"? No? Okay, whatever, I love M83, which is saying something since it's normally not a genre I would touch with a 10-foot pole. "Kim & Jessie" made me a fan in the first place and I can't wait to finally see him at Coachella (sadly missed the local date earlier this month).- Florence + The Machine
Tickets obtained for the Vegas show. I'd go to the Santa Barbara show since it's 20 minutes from my house, but it's during day 2 of Coachella and I'll be rocking out to Radiohead that night (Flo plays day 3). So instead of driving 20 minutes, I get to drive 6 hours to Vegas. Fun times! (drunken Vegas wedding scene possible ;)) - Charlie Brown Music Videos (Live & Studio - both videos in first post)
