Bon Iver
^ Got such a laugh when someone showed me that the other night. Bonny Bear photos I never shared from Coachella, in which I was beyond appalled at Justin Vernon's hairstyle:

Noel Gallagher
You know, I never shared my NG Coachella photos from last month. I'd seen High Flying Birds twice before so I was content hanging farther back this time (hence no super close-up shots like I got before), but enjoyable show regardless. Lots of Oasis goodies, and hearing everyone afterwards complain about the lack of Wonderwall was fucking hilarious.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
I hear there's several people who've camped outside the studio multiple times per week. That's creepy and obsessive and probably sours the band, honestly. Word spreads fast about the band so obviously people caught onto this studio stalking thing quickly, but come on, dropping by just one time is ENOUGH.

Am I Still A Coldplay Fan? Help Me To Know!
I really hate MX, but damn, not even I'd sink to listening to BEP over it.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Honestly, I don't get the pleas for any band to "drop the hits". Think about it - if you were attending your first Muse show and they DIDN'T play PIB/Hysteria/KoC/etc, how pissed off would you be? The correct solution is to play longer shows to allow more song variety. They will be 6 albums in soon, so there's no excuse to play shows for the same length as you did when you only had 2 albums. 15-song sets at your own headline show is lame when you're on Muse's pedestal.

The official **KEANE** thread
I hadn't listened to any of the live songs (I find that often ruins listening to studio songs) so I'm going into this only having heard "Silenced by the Night" before. Upon first listen, feels like a return to the simplified piano melodies of Hopes and Fears, only less memorable. Which - for the record - probably still makes it a lot better than Perfect Symmetry. "Sovereign Light Cafe" and "Black Rain" are first listen standouts. Thought the album was really plodding and dull until SLC came along, actually.

Florence + The Machine
Well, I did get into the afterparty, but didn't actually get to meet her because I wasn't "a VIP". Sad times. Though I got pretty much 90 straight minutes of eyesex:

Boring old people music
A) Coldplay IS "pop music on the radio" B) R.E.M., Duran Duran, The Cure, and Pink Floyd are all good starting points. Use those as springboards into earlier decades.

Florence + The Machine
So yeah, I just saw Florence and the Machine for the 6th time. Maybe I might have some issues. Maybe.

Coachella 2012 Line Up
We got Cold-chella the previous weekend but I'll gladly take that over this scorching weekend (was in Vegas and it hit 100 there too). Anyway, glad weekend 2 was awesome. I liked Other Lives but I was definitely disappointed they didn't play "Black tables". Destroyer...yeah, awesome mellow album to listen to at home, but on stage, Dan Bejar always looks like he never wants to be there.

Coachella 2012 Line Up
Nah, I stayed for all of Pulp and watched Mazzy from the soundbooth. And "Fade Into You" was played in the latter half of the set, anyway. I was also far back for Snoop, but I honestly didn't try to get close and could have easily gotten to at least the soundbooth. They had so many screens going that you'll see everything anyway (unlike Radiohead, who wasn't shown on the screens and relied on their own stage set-up).

Coachella 2012 Line Up
I saw well over 30 bands total. Best acts I caught were Arctic Monkeys, Pulp, Kaiser Chiefs, Bon Iver, Radiohead, The Hives, Florence, and even if Dre and Snoop aren't your thing (they aren't really mine), stick around for them anyway. I skipped Tune-yards since I've seen her before, but if you haven't, check her out too. She's infinitely better live than on record. Yuck and Mazzy Star were my two big disappointments, so steer clear. Also apparently Justice crapped the bed (was gonna see them but ended up at Girl Talk) but hopefully they'll have all their technical issues worked out by next weekend.

Radiohead
I think I went a whole 2 minutes before scrolling down past that gif.

THE VACCINES
Saw them for the 2nd time at Coachella. I hadn't seen any recent pictures of the band so I had no idea Justin had totally grown his hair out to Dave Grohl levels. Anyway, the show was a lot more energetic than the first time I saw them. Justin has really begun to embrace the crowd more and jump around everywhere. Speaking of the crowd, got pretty nuts at points.

Radiohead
Finally lost my Radiohead virginity at Coachella, and for a first show, I have no real complaints. Definitely glad to have gotten Lucky and Pyramid Song. I was pretty far away and I feel like I need to see their own show to fully appreciate their set, though. Hopefully a proper LA date comes sooner rather than later. Oh yeah, and even though it's a blatant crowd pleaser, that Karma Police singalong was fucking amazing.

Fanfarlo
Saw them this weekend at Coachella. I thought they were alright. Rooms Filled With Light is a pretty solid album but I felt like their set could have been more energetic.

Coachella 2012 Line Up
That was such a fucking blast. Can't wait to blow tons of money on 2013's installment. Pulp and Radiohead especially killed it.

Webcast schedule! http://www.youtube.com/coachella No, Radiohead will not be webcast. Apologies to those of you who wished to watch the heavens opening up live.

Kasabian
I find it amazing how Kasabian headlines major festivals and plays arenas in Europe, and yet their 1,000-capacity show here in LA (probably the largest concert city in North America) next week has yet to sell out and probably won't sell out. As for me, I bagged a free ticket to their Kimmel show next week. Yes, there are plenty of free tickets to Kasabian still available. And they probably won't even run out of those. Yes, we're a pretty screwed up country no wait continent no wait HEMISPHERE musically. :laugh3:

FREE FOOD now I have your attention
Everyone seems to hate their own country and is convinced that things are better elsewhere. Most of the time this isn't really true, but it's a common mindset I see everywhere. National pride seems to be kinda dead throughout the world, actually. :\ A little sad, although it gets people exploring other cultures, I guess. Me? I like the U.S. plenty. There isn't a single country that doesn't have a crapload of flaws.

The Damon Albarn thread.
Well, I guess I won't be seeing Blur live ever. It's especially disappointing being trapped in North America where Damon never wanted to take Blur during this revival period. I'm okay with Blur not having made another record (post-reunion albums traditionally miss more often than they hit) but I wish they gave the rest of the world a second chance. :\ Will always love them, of course.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Some people actually thought "New Discography" is the name of the 6th album. Yes, the Muse fanbase really is that stupid.

Charlie Brown / Princess of China
I'm really perplexed as to why Charlie Brown has seemingly been crowned god of all Coldplay songs around here. Look, it's one of the few songs on MX that I tolerate, and it deserved a way better video, but people are acting like it's their greatest song ever. Which it isn't by a long shot.
