  1. I have yet to successfully create a Pandora station that doesn't make me listen to a Beatles song every 10 minutes. No disrespect to The Beatles who are cool and all, but I would create a Beatles station if I wanted to listen to them repeatedly. Not that I use Pandora these days, anyway.
  2. More diversity doesn't mean all those ideas are good. X&Y's concepts were indeed all the same and it re-used the same lyrics in almost all of its songs, but at least those were decent sounds and concepts to begin with.
  3. The same tabloid site that posted that pic said "Kate's sweetheart Matthew is recording his band's second album in London." So hell yeah, they're recording Origin of Symmetry. :laugh3:
  4. There's actually a song called "Love You Like a Lovesong"? I feel that deserves song of the year from its idiotically brilliant name alone.
  5. For what? Coldplay still wrote the song. ...actually no, some Vietnamese lady did. :p
  6. Oh believe me, I've been humoring them for a full week now. I hate MX, but even though I believe 100% of what I post in that section, I purposely act like a pompous fact-teller just to provoke people. :P
  7. People in the Coldplay section are in denial. I totally defended Coldplay in the VLV drama (and I didn't even like VLV), but sheesh, I can't see a way around this one. The Vietnamese song is way better anyway
  8. By that point, it'll be available so you can just get the CD yourself and rip it in 320 or, if you prefer, a lossless format.
  9. Most stations still play Wonderwall on an hourly basis.
  10. PoC can't possibly be stolen from the Vietnamese song due to the fact that the Vietnamese song sucks so much less.
  11. I'm pretty sure Coldplay doesn't deserve ANY airplay for these songs, but it should be interesting to see if the local rock stations who normally play Coldplay will play it frequently, since I see PoC catering a hell of a lot more to Top 40 radio and similar trite.
  12. Uh...there's only one rule. And it's explained to you within the thread title itself. ;)
  13. Since I'm a quality freak and a lot of leaks/digital files aren't in pristine quality, being able to rip it myself from a CD is always worth it for favorite albums and artists. Supporting those artists is nice too, I guess, but they also make a crapload off me in concert ticket/merch money anyway. But if I don't like an album much, I'm sure as hell not gonna pay for it. I know I'm on a Coldplay forum and discussing stealing from said band is highly frowned upon, but I'll just admit right here I'm not paying for Mylo Xyloto. (DISCLAIMER: I already deleted it from my iTunes so I don't actually possess the stolen material in question. :P)
  14. Ooh, I have an apparent forum nemesis! Been wanting one of these ever since I first signed up for the forum. :D I love AROBTTH to death and it's one of my favorite albums of all time, but again if you read carefully, I'm saying they've never been lyrically mature. This includes a lot of AROBTTH (big exceptions being Amsterdam and the title track which are lyrically Coldplay's strongest works). Songs like Clocks and In My Place may not have toddler lyrics like "When you try your best and you don't succeed" or "Those who are dead are not dead", but they're made up of abstract phrases that ultimately don't mean a thing. But I'm speaking of an even further shift away from mere nonsense into outright stupid stuff like "I could've been a princess".
  15. I wonder if this was a label decision. I'd heard those songs live earlier in the year and loved them immensely, especially S&C which may be in my top 5 Flo songs. Several album listens later, I still insist one of those two should have replaced "Breaking Down" which is oddly produced and just a huge momentum killer that early in the album. I didn't think Lungs was quite perfect, either, so I'm still preferring Ceremonials at the moment.
  16. Lyrically, Coldplay has never been mature. Fix You is obviously an early low point there. But they're shifted its content toward an audience that sucks up Black Eyed Peas lyrics and similar nonsense, so now they pump out stuff like "I turn the music up, I got my records on". Lights will guide you home And ignite your bones And I will try to kick you
  17. ^ Good, you can pull those last 7 songs from releases in the final 2 months of the year. :P
  18. OH GOD. :shocked2: I would actually vote Paradise in that instance. And then I would promptly drown myself.
  19. I already have a playlist in iTunes that has my favorite songs this year, so I'd just have to put those in order. But near the top would be Holocene, Grown Ocean, Spectrum, One Sunday Morning, All and Everyone, Whirring, Jejune Stars, Midnight City, Codex, and Think You Can Wait, among others. So yeah, in favor of trying this idea again this year.
  20. His voice has changed, and you - just like the other fake "fans" on this board - cannot accept change. Please leave this board forever since even though you've been following the band for 10 years and had bought all their albums and plenty of concert tickets up until this point, you were never a real fan like those of us who will love them no matter what they do. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go jump off a cliff because Chris Martin told me too. :D
  21. It's a Coldplay song. Stop looking for meaning in it. :P
  22. So...uh...you guys are nominating me in the Coldplaying awards for Biggest Florence Welch Fanboy, correct? ;)
  23. New 4-minute audio interview from one of my favorite local stations: http://www.987fm.com/pages/newmusicreports.html?article=9290685 Chris and Jonny discuss putting the new album together, as well as what "M.M.I.X." means (we still don't get much of an answer), and a bit about their Twitter activity.
