2012 tour date rumours (please post dates for ALL countries in here)
LA. Anything better than a nosebleed was $125 with fees. Nosebleeds were still like $90.

I know. I know because I paid for one of those. Great show, but UGH. And I'd complain less about Coldplay's ticket prices if I couldn't see different bands in the exact same venues for half the cost.

Princess of China: Worst Coldplay song ever?
Did you even read the post I was responding to? I was saying according to the post I was quoting, everyone would need brain scans, including yours truly. My opinion is holier than thou, but at least look at it in context.

Princess of China: Worst Coldplay song ever?
Judging by the responses so far, it looks like at least half the fanbase is going to need an MRI in that case. I don't like Rihanna but she's not what ruins the song. It's just a plain-old terrible song with or without her.

Florence + The Machine
Yes. But no, I can't share it here. Rules are rules. :P All signs point to no. Personally, I can't wait for my order to arrive so I can rip this thing in FLAC. :awesome:

2012 tour date rumours (please post dates for ALL countries in here)
They've been playing sold-out arenas here for a few tours now. It's time to let them step up to the ultimate highest stages. This, of course, will do no favors for what were already expensive-as-hell tickets for arenas.

Coldplay: 'The Strokes' 'Is This It' is the best album of past 15 years'
Chris Martin said he loved Miley Cyrus a couple years ago, correct? Yeah, they love everyone. Or are just too cowardly to talk negatively about other acts. :laugh3: That said, I always thought Chris was an OK Computer fanboy who thought it was the best album ever, so he needs to double-check his math because OKC was (just barely) within the last 15 years. :P Oh and BTW, I've always preferred Room on Fire. ;)

PoC vs Paradise vs E.T.I.A.W vs Charlie Brown
Thanks for showing me the light, dear friend. I shall be leaving this forum now. :D (not really)

Worst Mylo Xyloto song?
Yes, they are better. I will GLADLY take 30 second of ambiance of many of the 4-minute songs on the album, thank you very much. :nice:

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
I will punch a Wolstenbaby if they ever drop MOTP from the regular set. We know what you mean, and most of us agree.

Worst Mylo Xyloto song?
Damn, this poll wasn't set to multiple selection. PoC it is. Was pretty sure they wouldn't outdo ETIAW in horrificness anywhere else on the album. Was dead wrong. Personally, I'd like to see the results of this poll WITHOUT the 30-second interlude pieces. Those are distracting votes from the core songs. I hate Major Minus too but I think a lot of the ETIAW hate was diverted after people heard Paradise and PoC.

PoC vs Paradise vs E.T.I.A.W vs Charlie Brown
"Yes" is definitely one of them. The other one is either "What If" or one of the crappier B-sides.
-
Best song starting with U...?
Those disagreeable people are dumb because UATW is easily the best thing to come out of this album and one of the very few bright spots I can find on the entire effort. And I did notice that the only tracks I cared for began with "U". They should have called this album "Ula Uvula" instead.

WoM Mylo Xyloto ranking
Nah, you've just been misled because Chris Martin has a girlier voice than most female singers.
-
Which song will be most popular?
Princess of China. I know how the mainstream consumer works. The mainstream consumer likes garbage. So PoC will be an immense sensation and inspire future collaborations with such industry voices as Usher, Kesha, and the Old Spice dude.

Florence + The Machine
I love Lungs to death but there's a few things I would have changed about it. "Kiss With a Fist" was written in her earliest phase so it feels rather out-of-place and should have remained on her Lot of Love EP, and "You've Got the Love" feels slapped on the end for no real reason other than that it was a UK radio hit, so hey, more album sales! I'm pretty sure the album was meant to end with "Blinding", which actually DOES feel like a proper closer.
-
Which singer would you have chosen to do Princess of China's female vocal?
New Florence album beats the shit out of new Coldplay album. As well as almost every Coldplay album before it (even the good ones haha).

Florence + The Machine
Verdict time. Gonna spoiler this sucker for those who want to wait 2 weeks for the actual release (personally, I feel no guilt because I already paid $30 for the deluxe edition and exclusive poster). Non-spoiler version: Better than Mylo Xyloto. Then again, I'm pretty sure my dog poops out more listenable albums than that. So as a bolder statement...potential challenger to Feist, St. Vincent, and PJ Harvey for 2011 female supremacy. Possible dominance over male contenders too.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Fucking awesome song, especially the Grand Omega Bosses Edit (i.e. the original version of the song)
-
The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
I do like the solo in Invincible (it's way better than the Guiding Light/NSC solos) but the rest of the song is kinda...bleh. (surprisingly, Invincible has one of Muse's better music videos and I always feel like singing it when I'm on the actual It's a Small World ride) I used to not like Soldier's Poem, but it's grown on me as a brief "breather" piece. Really, though, at least half of BH&R is really incredible.
-
The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
You know, I actually really like BH&R when you take away the 3 pop/cheese tracks (Starlight, SMBH, Invincible). Yeah, those 3 songs paved the way for some bad habits on The Resistance, but the rest of BH&R is damn good. MOTP is the only post-Absolution Muse song to crack my Top 10.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
October seems fair. Over 3 years since The Resistance, plus they have family lives and a 6th goddamn Wolstenkid. I checked and there were only 4 (:stunned:) performances of CE in North America last tour (I saw 2 of them). That number needs to increase drastically next tour. Should be interesting to see what stays on the setlists next tour. I predict only the 3 singles from The Resistance will survive, since only the first 5 songs on the album were still in rotation by the tour's end (though I still want them to eradicate UD forever).
