  1. As someone who was actually there, I can confirm that nearly every person holding onto a balloon was carrying it out of the festival. They continued flashing rainbow colors after the show, so it was funny walking through the campgrounds and seeing giant glowing orbs through lots of the tents. (I don't know how you sleep with one of those things in your tent, though.) I also wondered how long they continued glowing.
  2. Well, I know The National are playing Hollywood Bowl later this year, and I'm gonna see if there's any way I can get a good ticket that's not too unreasonable. (I generally hate Hollywood Bowl, though.) "Squalor Victoria" was a worthy candidate for the best song of the entire weekend from anybody (but competition is stiff), though "Mr. November" was pretty damn awesome both for getting the whole crowd going and because Matt Berninger very nearly crowd surfed over me.
  3. Too bad I don't live anywhere near LA. OH WAIT. :D
  4. Everyone who has never seen The National live before needs to see them immediately, and everyone who HAS seen them needs to see them again. They are the absolute last band I thought I'd use the ludicrous term "face-melting" for, and yet they were easily the best non-headline act I saw all weekend. Oh yeah, The Strokes were pretty awesome, but I was also ridiculously tired by that point. Must do this festival again, though.
  5. Loved their show yesterday! They played a smaller tent but they had one of the most active crowds so far.
  6. OH. MY. GOD. There is no way to humanly describe the amazingness of Arcade Fire's show - especially the synched light up balloons - without actually having been there. Theatrics-wise it was unlike anything I had ever seen (suck it, Yellow balloons), and performance-wise it was completely stellar the whole way through. Intervention still gets me every damn time. Oh yeah, Conor freaking Oberst was standing in front of us during Arcade Fire. I smiled at him but he just turned away, but whatever. I'll fill you guys in on the rest of my day later.
  7. Most likely seeing these guys today at Coachella. A friend got me hooked a few months ago. :D
  8. Hey guys, thought I'd pop in from the hotel early in the morning. First day was great! Interpol and especially the Black Keys were the highlights so far, though I also got to see some good sets from Tame Impala and others, including Crystal Castles' blinding strobe show. We unfortunately skipped Robyn because we both wanted to rest for today's insane lineup as well as beat douchey KoL traffic. See ya guys! :)
  9. Getting up inhumanely early and bolting to the festival tomorrow. Will take pics, and will hopefully have an amazing time. Until then, I'll see you again on Monday, Coldplaying. :)
  10. I GOT MINE TOO! :awesome: Going with 4 other Musers. Gonna be a crazy road trip. Paaaaaaaaarrrrrtyyyyyyy! Lolla and OSL on back-to-back weekends. I'm stalking Muse's brains out here. :laugh3:
  11. Watching a video of Citizen Erased played down there as support is hilarious because people erupt in applause like 5 times because they think the song is over when it really isn't. :laugh3: It also makes me rage, of course. I think the lesson everyone learned this past tour is always go to the final night when Muse is playing the same city. Night 1 of Wembley, LA, and Brisbane all got standard sets. Night 2 of those got all the good stuff. And Night 3 of these support shows has gotten the goods too. That's still so far away, though. (not to mention CE and Bliss were occasionally trotted out last tour, but only if you happened to capture a leprechaun at your show) If they are to "warm-up" songs for R/L, it would more likely be at Lolla and Outside Lands fests a couple weeks before (or maybe I'm just hyping my hopes and setting myself up for massive disappointment :laugh3:).
  12. Final U2 support show is being played right now. Citizen Erased AND Bliss so far, if .mu people aren't lying sacks, of course. People get 18-song sets that are nowhere near as awesome as this 8-song set.
  13. Well, it's not "angry music". It's "music you listen to when you're angry". That could even mean a calm or soothing song. Me? I prefer a good rocker, though not necessary a "loud" or "angry" one.
  14. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fv_ko47ThDk]YouTube - Muse You Fucking Motherfucker Hidden Track[/ame] And for something maybe a bit more substantial... :laugh3: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xy6tiTbWU0I]YouTube - Franz Ferdinand- Evil and a heathen[/ame]
  15. Liz0_o, the girl in charge of the LA screening, is one of my good friends. Did the Grammy-stalking session with her. :awesome: So yeah, obviously I'll go to this. :D "Premiere night highlights feature" has me thinking I might unknowingly be in a bonus video? That's kinda awesome.
  16. Set times are up. MAJOR conflicts for me on Saturday (I'll probably miss Elbow. DAMMIT.). Seem pretty okay with Friday and Sunday, though. The National performing at sunset should be friggin amazing, though.
  17. I heard "Give Me Strength" in the mall today. I'm also deeply sorry I have nothing more substantial to say in my token post in the Snow Patrol thread that only occurs once every 5 months.
  18. That was the original version of the poster. They fixed a few typos in later versions, as well as dropped a few artists like Klaxons.
  19. I want set times to be revealed like NOW. :bomb:
  20. I have like 4 favorite albums that rotate each day, so I'll think I'll go with something that hasn't been used in this thread already - ACHTUNG BABY. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHa1ThS9avA&feature=related]YouTube - U2 - Acrobat[/ame]
  21. Muse (and Arcade Fire) confirmed for Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco. That giant hole in my wallet? I think my wallet just incinerated altogether.
  22. Really like the new album, been listening the entire past week. Not really a fan of "A Matter of Time" or "Back & Forth", but the rest is their most solid output in quite a while. Looking forward to seeing them whenever I can this year.
