District 9
liked it...tho all them humans & aliens going "kablooey" all over the screen was a bit much for my taste. my friend & i also found it amusing that all the aliens' weapons looked like they're from the PC game Half-Life. esp the Tesla Gun. & then there's that Mechwarrior battle suit he got into. :sneaky: tho Wikus' transformation seemed pretty familiar...i.e. The Fly. pretty much in a similar vein to the remake with Jeff Goldblum. 'cept i didn't freak out with District 9 half as much as with The Fly even tho there were some pretty "ewww" scenes the more he changed. & i think the ending SO leaves the movie open to a sequel tho. cos i sure as hell want to know what happens when Christopher Johnson finally returns in 3yrs' time. :P

oh & i'm in for tweeting @ Wembley too. :D will be getting my own line once i get into UK next wk since i'm going to be there for at least a year. intending to see if Vodafone will let me change the registered owner of my mum's prepaid to mine instead ---> can anyone advise off-hand if this is possible? or just get my own SIM only / pay-as-you-go plan & will definitey be looking into getting an unlimited mobile internet add-on (or next best option cost-wise). :)

i believe it actually does, but if you've set your mobile/web browser to "remember you" always, then this shouldn't be a problem since you'll auto login each time you go to twitter. same goes for mobile twitter apps, but then you'd be in conflict with your existing account.

neither have i, actually... but i'm re-listening to my Songs For Polarbears CD for now. :) just realised that Bristol's the 1st venue to sell out on gigsandtours.com!!! :stunned: are Snow Patrol that popular there or is it just that the hall is a popular gig venue?

Hello Malaysia!
well, would it be a consolation to you if i told you that these super sized "world's largest <insert food item here>" things generally taste crap? cos the chef(s) are only out for the size...they couldn't be arsed to use good quality stuff to make it. :P

19-Sep-2009: Wembley Stadium, London - Tickets, Previews, Meetups, Reviews/Photos
i don't think they even bother sending an email if your tickets've been despatched. :\ i bought tix to a non-Coldplay gig in Nov & was shocked to find out that just a week after my purchase, my order status reads "your order has been despatched" (to Malaysia)...since i knew the Coldplay Wembley tix weren't even sent out yet judging by posts here. this now leaves me with some logistical issues since i'm relocating to UK by Sep, but i can't update my billing address details til i'm there...but that's another story. all i can say is that if the Coldplay tix were for sure being despatched as efficiently as this other order, i'd have gone with paying for Ticketmaster to send mine to me by post already long ago. (wishful thinking) :P pffft

SQUEEE!!! FIREWORKS!!! :D i'm kinda planning to be there in the morning-ish myself...to queue. but i think it's a bit of a risk that i'll be queueing at the wrong gate, seeing as i won't know which gate til i get my ticket. hopefully they're open earlier than the official line of "1hr before gates open" or i can pick up my ticket a day before. i'm not hopeful of the latter. :dozey:

Important information for overseas Coldplayers with tickets to the Summer Stadium Gigs
no idea how they determine what kind of delivery we're entitled to for those outside of the UK, but there was definitely a Standard Mail option at about just under £4 extra for some gigs' tickets. that's the cheapest option aside from Will Call which is just under £3...but isn't always available as an option, i've noticed. :dozey:

i've got mine on will call too. same with you, am a bit worried about the box office opening time too...what with me not being familiar with how things work in the UK. 1st timer going for a gig in UK. :\ but i guess the others' earlier suggestion to meet up in advance at the queue would be the best option for our situation.

Linux Users
yeah, but then installing the packages can be a pain in the arse to do & the stuff that you need to tinker around from the Terminal (e.g. sound) can be a bit daunting for someone who doesn't know what in the world they're doing beyond Copy & Paste the codes on some website or forum. tho at least the Pulse Audio with the latest updates/version has made things easier than before. i now have sound working fine with both my sound card & the onboard sound chip. finally. *fingers crossed*

From ipod to pc
Floola's pretty decent...you can even play the songs directly from the iPod. tho things get a bit screwy if you still intend to sync your iPod with iTunes, imo. http://www.floola.com/modules/wiwimod/index.php?page=WiwiHome else Pod Player's good too... http://www.ipodhacks.com/article.php?sid=1090

University overseas..
ok, that's really weird then. I got conditional offers for unis in UK & Aussie back then w/o needing to take TOEFL/IELTS on account of me already taking the A-Levels + my grades from the Malaysian equivalent to the O-Levels. I did have 1 UK uni during my recent applications who initially wanted me to take the IELTS, then they changed their minds to ask for me to just get written certification that my course was fully conducted in English, then changed again later to just needing to see my academic transcripts only after a couple of email exchanges where I emphasised that they're the only uni who've asked me for the English certification. :shifty: well, that's expected from us as overseas applicants from a non-English speaking country. + I think TOEFL is a standard requirement from US unis for us. but coldplay <3's case is odd since she's from a recognised English speaking country but still needs to produce English certification for an offer.

Your Wembley Journey?
"evil volcano lair"??? btw, i swear you have the world's most distracting avatar ever!!! :stunned: :embarassed: flying in from Malaysia early Sep to do some sightseeing (ideally) &/or catching up with friends & family 1st before parking myself in London on the week of the Wembley gigs...tho i'm only going on 19 Sep.
