  1. I think the setlist they had for Part II of the Viva tour was just amazing. Lovers in Japan, The Scientist and Life In Technicolor ii were the highlights of the show.
  2. I wasn't referring to the jury. I'm talking about all of you who were watching. In america, you all seem to have forgotten that you're innocent until proven guilty. Who told you she was guilty? CNN did. Look at her now, free.
  3. I think Casey's defense attorney did say something clever though. Something along the lines of "Today we showed the media that it cannot taint a case like this." And it's true. Wether she's guilty or not, most people are only seeing the evidence stacked against her. That's what the media does. Especially a media mogul like CNN. Interesting twitter trending topic: "It's not about what you know, it's about what you can prove in court." - Law Abiding Citizen.
  4. Yeah I'm a new fan of the structures. The entire chorus for Charlie Brown is built around Jonny's guitar riff, and the hurts like heaven chorus is nice and short.
  5. Can we get a poll? 1. Hurts like heaven 2. Us against the world 3. Charlie brown 4. Moving to mars 5. Every teardrop 6. Major minus
  6. There is a pretty significant difference between overdrive and distortion. The names pretty much speak for themselves. Overdrive more or less boosts a signal. Distortion does the same while making it dirtier sounding. Overdrive would be more of an AC DC sound while distortion is kind of like a Muse guitar sound. Jonny has a tube screamer which is more towards the overdrive side, but I don't think he uses it anymore. I know he used it during talk on the X&Y tour.
  7. Learn drums. There's never enough drummers. Too many guitarists out there (myself being one of them). If you're interested in joining a band, people are always looking for drummers.
  8. I'll record a few demos of Charlie brown & in my place with some reverb tomorrow. If you have a fender amp, use the drive channel with about 2.5 drive on it (use as little drive as you can), i find that's usually a good amount for Coldplays stuff. Distortion? I'm not too sure. I know Jonny doesn't have any distortion pedals in his line up. Using the drive on the amp alone is more than often enough. If you think you can't hear the parts of the song with drive in it, listen to the beginning of the chorus for in my place (the "yeaaaaahhh" part) and the bridge in Charlie Brown ("All the boys, all the girls") Again, I'll record a few short demonstrations tomorrow.
  9. Sounds like a normal piano to me. Might be drifting more towards the honky-tonk piano when the song really picks up, but during the quiet part it sounds normal to me.
  10. Yeah, for in my place he used to use some delay, but now he just uses a fair amount of reverb. And if you're referring to the glastonbury performance of Charlie Brown, I'm 99% sure he's using reverb and chorus. For the rock am ring Charlie Brown, I didn't hear the chorus but it's definitely there for Glasto.
  11. Lyrical content is still pretty subjective... For example, if the Every Teardrop is a Waterfall lyrics were in a song like amsterdam, you guys would still think the lyrics were amazing. I think the feel of the song has a lot to do with your perception of the lyrics.
  12. And here I was thinking the new songs would at least hold people over until the album is released... shame on me
  13. I wish I could buy this song instead of the entire crappy ep... -_-
  14. Surely this is the work of Brian Eno!
  15. studio for sure
  16. I'm calling it now, they're gonna wait til the end of the fucking program to play it
  17. who wants to bet that they will do the same thing as the interview and air it at the end of the program
  18. Why does everyone have to make every song into an acronym... I understand VLVODAAHF but seriously, MTM? MM? Why don't we all start using C (Clocks), T (Trouble) etc
  19. http://coldplay.com/live.php Theres over a month gap after August 5th, which is their last show until September 16th. I'm with everyone who thinks it's gonna come out in August.
  20. Again, not saying I hate the song. I thought 42 was weird the first few times I listened to the album. I may warm up to it.
  21. I dunno, really. I just haven't liked it since I first heard it. I will give it the benefit of the doubt since I have only listened to it twice, but still haven't quite liked it. Perhaps I will when the studio version comes out, but the live version just sounded too weird. Jonny's guitar was just drowned in reverb, which kind of takes away from the acoustic guitar too. And the vocal melodies, just don't sit well with me.
  22. Nope. I don't like major minus.
  23. Does anyone else still think ALL the new songs will be on the album? But I'd be fine if major minus was left off, not a fan. Also, I don't think they'd go through all the trouble to keep these B-sides a secret, plus they wouldn't develop art like the walking man for hurts like heaven.
  24. I'm still not a fan, it's a weird sounding song. I like all of the other new songs over this one. I'll probably still get it, but I really wish it was another song.
