I love this comparison and I love you.

Birds (Song and Video out now Jan 2) pg 17 for Vid
I'm super duper excited to hear this one. Was the snippet a tad misleading? I loved it then but from what I hear it sounds like it's even better than what we had ten seconds of.

Club of coldplayers in a coldplaying hiatus
Oh man, didn't they? I couldn't stop playing it when I first found the performance!

Ugh I love that so much. (I do have to wonder though, since Kylie is a pop artist, if the reaction to Coldplay covering a pop song created the same amount of controversy as it does now.)

Setlist predictions
Chris said something about the setlist having a bit of everything, sooooo PLEASE PLAY A RUSH OF BLOOD TO THE HEAD. JUST ONCE. PLEASE. :)

AHFOD Reviews by Music Critics
No kidding. I had to read their review of Up&Up like three times before I figured out how they felt about the track. Though, admittedly, I do think the critics are going to love this album.

I totally get that. Most of the complaints I read make sense, but it's touched me in ways their others haven't, so I suppose I click with it for that reason! :) Regardless, I'm glad this thread is here! With all the weirdness happening all over the community recently, it's so nice to have a place to relax and mesh with others in the same boat.

I'm about to write a review for X&Y in a few minutes and what better way would there be than to listen to X&Y? I love the album to death, and it's a shame this site puts X&Y as one of their worst. Holy shit I forgot how good this is.

X Marks The Spot [HIDDEN TRACK]
Yeah, exactly. Though, they are a mix of alternative and pop rock for this album (which is A-okay). Fall Out Boy, Imagine Dragons and Panic! At The Disco are much more closer to full pop than Coldplay will ever be, so this argument is beginning to show its age at this point.

I hadn't seen this discussed anywhere, but it looks like AHFOD is about the same length of Viva at 45 minutes! I'm so glad we finally got a song over six minutes!

omg  I've found my home. Hello everyone! lol, right? Those complaints are so silly. I feel like the animosity towards pop music here is toxic, but there is so much that isn't known about pop with these complaints it makes me laugh. Maroon 5 and Coldplay have never been and will never be on the same level. Not that Maroon 5 is bad, but come on. It's like comparing apples to oranges.

Yeah, I'd go with Tokyo or Melbourne like Kansas said.

I'm in the middle of writing my review for X&Y so I have that going for me! :wiseguy:

Reading all these reviews are making me happy and anxious at the same time. I can wait. I can wait. I can wait.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
 It's always changing, but it's weird too. Realistically I would put Viva above AROBTTH, but it's far from my favorite era as a whole. All I know is Parachutes is my least-played album. What about you?

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Yeah! I can't really blame anyone for that, but at the same time, that causes many unnecessary comparisons to be drawn.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
X&Y is my favorite Coldplay album, but I do agree 'old Coldplay' is far too praised sometimes. And it's not just for Coldplay. I cannot think of one single artist who didn't have a dip in quality at some point in their career. I don't care if it's U2, Radiohead, Bob Dylan, James Taylor or fucking Foo Fighters. Everyone will always remember the first few albums over the rest, even if the 'others' are genuinely great. I think nostalgia truly does blind us often and lets us not escape. That said, I do feel like I'm in the minority of people here who prefers post-X&Y for the most part. I love the first three albums of course, but I get tired of them very quickly.

Hey, no worries. I wasn't going after anyone in particular! I can't say much just because I've only heard the songs they've played for us, but even then, the reaction is still the same on this forum. It's really odd.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Count me in. I'm trying to avoid the leak anyways, but the reaction to the leaks for every album drives me insane. The process is always like this: - Wait impatiently for the album to leak while having overplayed the single(s) released. - Album leaks, Coldplaying goes down, social media is a frenzy. - Reviews come pouring in with mass amounts of negativity, making it near impossible to actually find a good review. (You'd even think there wasn't a good song on the album!) - The hype dies down a bit, and suddenly the reviews and reaction levels out. "Maybe it's not that bad after all! Actually this album is really good!" - The album releases and things feel normal again. I saw this with Mylo Xyloto, Ghost Stories, and now A Head Full of Dreams. I swear I should be used to it by now but I'm not. Obviously not everything Coldplay makes it gold or even bronze, but shit. I just want it to be December 4 already!

Everglow
On first listen, I was a bit underwhelmed but at the same time pleased with it more than I expected to! It's growing on me, but it's immensely better than Amazing Day (for me), and I like Amazing Day! Overall I like it and I'm sure I'll love it after a few listens. ...but I can't make myself listen to anything else. Only one week!
