I had the same sort of reaction to this news (at first) but my roommate pointed out that Chris is super selective of the people he duets with and even Lhuna with Kylie Minogue didn't make the album.. makes me think that Princess of China is really something special. I'm not the biggest Rihanna fan, but I'll always love Pon de Replay and she was awesome on All of the Lights Plus, with a Coldplay/Rihanna combo there's no way that song won't stay at #1 on the charts for like 10 years

I know this is a crazy idea... But why don't they try mixing their set lists up for once?? Like keep HLH for the opener and leave Teardrop as the closer (I know Chris loves it in that spot) and keep certain songs in, but why not have a few slots that they can play around with? Throw Sparks, Green Eyes, Warning Sign, A Message, Swallowed In The Sea, Lovers In Japan, Chinese Sleep Chant and maybe even older songs in to make every concert unique. They should play the hits for the average concert goer but not every song they play has to be a #1 hit single.. they have an incredible back catalogue and they should use it!!

Princess of China & Up In Flames are my two favorites! (that we haven't heard so far, still love Charlie Brown)

I know we're all beating this into the ground, but I feel like Every Teardrop will work terrifically in the middle of the album, I would bet my appreciation/enjoyment of the song is going to sky rocket with it there instead of the end of the record

Cannot wait to hear the whole story, these bits and pieces and names are so exciting.. what would be super cool is if they made a film to compliment the story (like Kanye West did with Runaway or U2 did with No Line On The Horizon)

Yeah, I like the idea of heavy bass, bring Guy & Jonny out more.. I remember Chris saying that only 2 songs they've ever written started with the bass line, wonder how this one started

I'm hoping for some bright acoustic guitar-y intro that explodes with a riff from Jonny that's like a hybrid of In My Place and Strawberry Swing. As a lead single, I would be really surprised by a dark song named Paradise (but that could be interesting and with Coldplay you never know!)
