  1. Charlie Brown It has to be one of my favourite Coldplay songs of all time
  2. Loved the AROBTTH album and single covers, but VLVODAAHF tips the balance. The covers were great, but more importantly - THOSE OUTFITS!!! Oh God, I still get all fluttery just thinking about the Viva era :dazzled:
  3. Sorry, too late for N! Q - The 6 Q awards that Coldplay have won
  4. Can't WAIT for Babel (Mumford & Sons new album - 24th September) and I'm also looking forward to Rachel Sermanni's debut. She's a Scottish singer-songwriter type whom I've seen supporting Mumford and she's really wonderful, such a talented girl!
  5. I Will Wait - Mumford & Sons Can't wait for their new album... :D :dazzled:
  6. Oh God, when I first found out there was FINALLY information about the new series I hyperventilated and squealed with joy for about 20 mins! So excited, it looks amazing (although DW pretty much always is!) and although it would be great if the Ponds were fine, I'm not as fussed as everyone else about it. I just can't wait to see more of Matt's incredibly nuanced and wonderful acting... His emotions last year were in equal parts ridiculously cute and absolutely heartbreaking!
  7. Brideshead Revisited... It is such a brilliant book, I really love it :dazzled:! Waugh is fantastically good at character studies and his language just makes me melt into a pile of geeky English-fangirl-mush! (And, OK, this isn't *exactly* relevant, but I recently read To Kill a Mockingbird and it was just so perfect. That has to be read by everyone at least once in their lives. Loved it so much!)
  8. Upcoming: Anna Karenina The Perks of Being a Wallflower On The Road The Hobbit Life of Pi Les Miserables The Great Gatsby Already out: The Deep Blue Sea The Artist Shame The Avengers Salmon Fishing in the Yemen Milk Hawking ... Yeah, I have a lot of films that I want to see. I need to start saving up for cinema tickets now!
  9. Everything's Not Lost. I'm not feeling down at the moment (on the contrary, very VERY happy!) but I just love it because it's so quietly positive and lovely :)
  10. I'd like to think I do, but really I don't think we can properly. I am a firm believer in the opinion that, unless you've talked to someone properly, over an extended period of time, you can't know them properly (and this applies to 'normal' people as well.) Yes, we can get an idea of how they are through interviews etc and certainly we're given an insight into Chris' mind in particular through the lyrics, but watching lots of interviews with someone is not the same as knowing them. We always want to put out the best image of ourselves, even if we do it unconsciously, so the guys will be editing, if you like, their lives and opinions when they're interviewed. Also, like it or not, they will want the best media representation possible, so will obviously censor certain things. Finally, sometimes even the people we know IRL don't know who we are on the inside - I don't think even we know our full selves sometimes. So, long story short, no, I don't feel like I know Coldplay personally. Whilst I would love to, and whilst I enjoy talking about the individual band members (I know some people don't like doing this, but personal opinion), these things always comes a clear second to their music. It's what I fell in love with them for, and I just find it a great 'extra' that they happen to be (or seem like) such wonderful, lovely guys.
  11. OK, so I am kind of super-mega-ridiculously excited because (although I haven't got tickets yet!) it looks like I will be going to this gig! Have applied to volunteer with Oxfam so hopefully will get that and then I will be seeing my babies!!! (yes, I call 30+ year old men 'my babies'... there's nothing wrong with me!) I am just so, so, so, so excited it's actually ridiculous. Sitting in my room listening to them (as ever) and it's really beginning to sink in! It's been less than a year since I last saw them (actually, only 9 months!) but it feels like so much longer and I still have PCCD (post-coldplay-concert-depression!) So I'm thrilled that I get to go! Raise hands all those who are going?! Anyone else going who's not from Sweden?
  12. Really desperately hope they play the UK again in 2013 (please Scotland, PLEASE Scotland!!!) but I think, realistically, it's unlikely we'll have many (if any) dates. Not sure about the rest of Europe. On the other hand, completely agree, if I have to wait another 3 years for the next album I will DIE!
  13. ^^^ Agreed  ie. Chris Guy Jonny Will but sometimes, depending on my mood, Chris and Guy swap places :P
  14. Rainy and not very warm at all. Call this summer, Britain?!

Well, I have to say, I probably win prize for the saddest person on here... Because I have 2 Tumblr's! My 'hipster' (aesthetics) one: http://dreamer-of-the-dream.tumblr.com/ My fangirl (Coldplay, Sherlock, Benedict etc) one: http://frailty-of-genius.tumblr.com/ Follow if you want and chances are I'll follow back if we have the same interests on either!
  16. I have absolutely loved JVM since I heard Follow You Down at the end of Third Star (which, by the way, Megalomania is TOTALLY right about, it is phenomenal but it will leave you emotionally traumatised if you have something even resembling a heart!) and since I bought the album I've just been listening to it non-stop. At the moment I am loving And If My Heart Should Somehow Stop, but I love Sparrow and the Wolf as well. Actually, forget that, I just love the whole album!
  17. I have to say I'm loving Bon Iver's 'Holocene' today
  18. Mmm... Coldplay (obviously!) Beirut, Florence + The Machine, James Vincent McMorrow and Sigur Ros.
  19. When you plan on telling your school that the reason you're probably going to Stockholm is for a university open day (I live in the UK)... Really, of course, it's for COLDPLAY!!!! Which brings me on to another point, YKYAW you never thought you'd be someone who'd travel abroad for a band until you started listening to Coldplay and then flying everywhere didn't seem like that bad an idea!!!
  20. ^ Thanks so much for the friendly advice guys, I love the fact that Coldplayers are so friendly! It turns out that my mum might be coming as well, so that should be OK, but I was perhaps just a bit worried that I might feel a bit out of my comfort zone - but from what you've said, I think I should be fine! Linneah, I realise that you posted this quite a while ago, but I was wondering if you still had those 2 standing tickets? I tried to get some this morning because I realised they were selling more, but unfortunately they'd already sold out! If not then I completely understand and will probably just buy tickets from another website, but I thought it might be worth asking. Oh, and I don't understand most of that, but I'm going to make a guess from 'rumpa' that I wouldn't be talking about how brilliant the music is? :laugh3: Thanks again for the advice :D
  21. Such A Rush (just saw I haven't been on since the 6th, I'm such a bad Coldplayer! But I've been listening to the boys, of course!)
  22. Hi all, I unfortunately didn't manage to make it to any of the UK shows in 2012 (although I saw the guys in December last year :D) but have been looking up some of the European shows and trying to figure out which ones I could maybe make it to. Amazingly, I've just found out that my uncle is going to Stockholm around the time of the show, and says I could go with him. However, he wouldn't be able to actually go to the concert with me. My question is, do you think that I (as a 17 year old, non-Swedish-speaking girl) could cope in a concert situation on my own? Also, what are the chances that the venue staff would speak enough English for them to help me if I needed? I could obviously learn some very basic Swedish but probably not enough to do much. I would just absolutely love to go to this concert! Thanks in advance for any help or advice :D If you want to PM me that would also be wonderful :)
  23. I went to give blood earlier today and after I'd done it I sat down to have a drink. The first thing I noticed was that the guy opposite me at the table had a nose exactly like Chris'!!! So that was kind of my random Coldplay thought, but I suppose it also counts as obsession when the first thing you think about someone's nose is: Chris' nose is like that! :laugh3:
  24. This is *brilliant*! If they ever were to deny the Buckin love, I think this pic should be used to disprove a blatant lie :P (and just a little further there, Chris... :sneaky:) The pics and GIFs where Chris barges into Jonny always make me laugh, it's like, there is actually a person there Chrissyboy... He's so mad sometimes! asdfghjkl; I LOVE this pic, it is ridiculously cute! They really look like a couple here and Jonny especially looks gorgeous
