  1. For me, no, a band's latest album doesn't determine whether I go to the concert or not. While bands usually play the most songs from their latest album on a tour, it is still worth going to see their old stuff (if you really love it). And most of the time I find that live performances are better than studio versions because there is more energy, little tweaks to the song, etc. Nothing compares to live shows!
  2. I don't know, it doesn't sound like an album title to me. I suppose we'll see.
  3. But maybe she wants a more...detailed...review?
  4. Love it, from what I can hear. I hope they play it at the next show that has a live stream so that we can get a higher quality version...I don't want to put this one on my iPod just yet. :P
  5. dreamt_too_late: I will review your mixtape if you like! I've already recevied and reviewed mine and also sent my tape in, so I'm free. :P
  6. ETIAW is incredible live! There is so much energy in the performance, and they all really seem to love the song. Chris kept smiling and even Guy (who I always find looks very serious on stage!) seemed really into it. It makes it an even better performance when the band is excited about what they are playing!
  7. I love it! And I'm soooo happy they played Life is for Living afterwards. It's one of my favourites so I've always been waiting for it to make a comeback!
  8. She deserves a medal.
  9. Uggh mine's frozen. :( I hope someone is recording everything...even if it's just the audio! It's really good quality.
  10. Ok clearly I'm behind because everything is taking ages to load and my livestream is freezing and stuff. :P But I'm liking this jaunty version of GPASUYF!
  11. Singing la la la la la la laaaayyyy! They're sounding great on CoL! I just wish the video wasn't freezing on me!
  12. So this one is called Major Minus? I like it. YAY Lost just started! Ah you guys I'm so embarassed I am actually at work right now, and I didn't have any customers so I just creeped over to the live stream but the volume is quieter so I cranked it way up. And then a customer walked in so I quickly switched back to the shop iTunes...but I forgot to turn the volume back down so it just BLASTED for a second! :uhoh: The customer was like :wtf:!!!
  13. This made my day: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/story/2011/06/03/pol-senate-page.html
  14. ^ It's hockey. :P My dad is soooo excited because now when the Jets play the Canadiens, he can go see his favourite team play.
  15. I'm having a really hard time understanding the lyrics. :P And trying to hear through the bass "fuss" in some of the videos...but what I can make out sounds great! I can't wait to hear Princess of China in better quality.
  16. The video won't load for me over in the other thread...I guess I'll try again in a bit!
  17. ^ All I know is that it's from tonight's festival show and that it is one of the new songs!
  18. Didn't The Beatles sample the French national anthem in All You Need Is Love? In response to the thread topic, I think it sounds good live. Obviously it will sound better without the feedback or whatever from the speakers when the drums come in. Jonny seemed nervous, but I would definitely have been nervous too! Performing live is scary, no matter how many times you do it or how big the crowds are.
  19. Ok to get back on topic, I'll post my (positive) thoughts on the song as this thread was meant for in the first place. I really like the lyrics, first of all. I especially like the "I'd rather be a comma than a full stop", and also the verse about the gap between two trapezes. The lyrics are great to sing along to at festivals, but there are also some lyrics in there with some depth to them. I was disappointed with the fact that they sampled the beat at first, and I still am a little. But hey, if Chris was inspired after hearing the original song and had the idea to do something more with it, I respect that. It's better to sample something and follow your inspiration rather than to put the lyrics to something that they weren't meant to match with. I love Jonny's guitar riffs. It reminds me of Strawberry Swing (which was lovely), but more upbeat. I'm looking forward to hearing more of Jonny's influence on LP5 because I think that he has a lot to offer. I also like the way that the song builds throughout, without becoming too loud or dominant (if that makes sense). It's kind of a subtle build-up that is powerful yet not overpowering. While it may not be a musical masterpiece, it is still far better than half the crap out there. It is an uplifting tune with good lyrics, a catchy melody, and some lovely instrumental bits. It's going to be fantastic for the festivals this summer as it is fun and easy to dance and sing along to. I think that Coldplay wanted to have some fun with this song, and they have definitely achieved that goal.
  20. I'm hoping they release Glasto as a DVD! I remember something about cameras at some of the VLV Tour concerts but that never went anywhere, so maybe they will release something for this album. Also if you look at the videos from tonight's gig, there are camera men filming up at the front of the stage. Maybe they were hired by the festival people, but I'm hoping they are Coldplay people filming a dvd. :) It would be cool to have a live DVD chronicling all the festivals this summer.
  21. You don't need to explain anything, I'm pretty capable of thinking for myself. Also I don't understand how I've been "butthurt and incapable of seeing Coldplay get a negative response". I'd love you to explain or prove this point. I never expected this thread to be free of negative posts because I figured people like you would find it at some point and feel the need to put in your two cents if only to annoy the rest of us. I have said many times that I can see why people don't like it. I will easily admit that there are some flaws in the song, I'm not trying to praise everything about it by making this thread. All I was trying to do was make a thread where we could instead swift our focus to the positive aspects of the song. If you have nothing to contribute then I suggest you leave. This thread wasn't intended for you. And that ends this silly dispute. I'm not in the mood to argue with someone who is obviously too immature to leave people who don't share his opinions alone.
  22. I know, I can't wait! Also the Glastonbury "movie" will be amazing! I'm so excited I will be able to see it.
  23. Sorry, I think it may have been on the thread for the festival. I'll see if I can find it again.
  24. So now you're criticizing what other people choose to post in their threads? Wow. I don't care if there were sarcastic comments because I can choose to ignore them. Clearly you can't do the same thing because it seems as if you are incapable of keeping your mouth shut if you see something that doesn't live up to your "superior" standards.
