The Official "Doves" Thread
A Doves thread! How did I miss this?! :stunned: I've been absolutely in love with their stuff since December last year. I saw them in Manchester with my parents (my Dad's also a big fan), but other than the Kingdom Of Rust album I hadn't given a lot of their older stuff much of a chance, apart from the best-known singles. Since the concert though I can't stop listening to all of it. I can't wait for their greatest hits album in April, there are a few new remixes on there and a couple of brand new songs as well, plus some of their music videos. It looks like a really good collection. :D

Yes is simply brilliant!
Haha, I know what you mean! It kills the mood a little bit... I think it might be about being punished by someone for the lustful thoughts or whatever; that's what it makes me think of, anyway. Still love this song, it's always been a favourite of mine from VLV. :)

2009 : Twenty-O-Nine In Review
Was just coming on here to post about Kingdom Of Rust haha. To be honest, I spent most of 2009 listening to stuff I'd fallen in love with in 2008, VLV included. I didn't discover much new stuff. :\ But Kingdom Of Rust is an absolute masterpiece! Only really gave it a chance in December when I went to see them. After that, I've realised how amazing all their stuff is. :D

A Bridge Too Far?
I'm really gutted he's given up his England place. I agree, it seems like he's punishing himself. I hope that in the coming weeks/months when things have died down and he's had some time to think, he'll change his mind. He shouldn't have to miss out on such an experience because of a personal issue. I hate the fact that sky sports, match of the day etc keep making such a big deal out of everything. It's hardly going to help Bridge (and everyone involved) move on with things. They're loving the drama! On the other hand... :sneaky: as a City fan, today's match was quality. I know it's nothing to do with me, but I can't help but dislike Terry. As a player he annoyed me anyway with his stroppy temper and bullying ways etc. Loved seeing Tevez stand up to him and celebrate with Bridge after the goal, he's been really loyal to him throughout the whole thing. I suppose I can't really slag off the news stations to be honest. ;)

Spanish Rain?!
WOW. On first listen, I love this song. It's so joyful. Fantastic! :D Thank you so much for the video and MM link! Jonny was really enthusiastic about those olé olé olés haha. I had a little spooky moment today, was flicking through my TV channels and I saw the words "Don Quixote", it was the film version of the story haha. If I'd seen it just a day earlier I wouldn't have even thought about it. I switched it on just as it was finishing though. ):

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
A lot of the musical ideas for Day & Age were shared via email etc, whenever the band were apart from each other for whatever reasons. I'm sure they'll all come up with their own ideas and have their own inspirations during their time off this year, and my guess is that they'll still share their ideas in similar ways and keep things flowing. They aren't going to drop it all and have a doss! I think it will do them good to, first of all, recover from all the touring, and then just to have more freedom for a while, spending time with their families and developing their own ideas. A little time apart from each other could be really beneficial - I'm guessing a year and a half of being with the same bunch of guys every day, doing the same routine over and over, isn't much source for inspiration. I think (I hope) that it will be a nice change of pace and will let everyone recharge their batteries for a while.

Warning Sign
I only recently realised how much I loved this song. Things definitely do grow on me, it happened with Strawberry Swing for me as well. I could cry every time I listen to this, it's so beautiful! I find the music really haunting and the emotion in his voice is amazing. I was walking down an empty corridor in college during lesson time a while ago and I heard it coming from one of the classrooms; I couldn't believe it! I peeked into the classroom, they were watching some video with it playing in the background, but I didn't recognise it. It made my day, anyhow. :)

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
Great to hear the last few concerts went well. Graceful, your photos are really good, you're so lucky to have been so close! That is my DREAM, haha. I haven't seen any videos yet but I will get around to it sometime in the next few days. Singing Dustland must have been very emotional for him. Its significance really hit me when I was listening to it the other night, considering the circumstances. I have a lot of respect for him going out and performing; I hope they all enjoyed the last shows. :) They really deserve that break!

The Official Club Football 2014-2015 thread
I do take an interest in North End, and I always want them to do well, but my Dad's been a City fan since childhood so I suppose that was always going to be the most likely team for me to end up supporting. It just got passed on.

The Official Club Football 2014-2015 thread
Yes I am... and I wasn't pretending to be anything else! A supporter of any club isn't going to feel any different about their club's local rivals, no matter where they're from. You get supporters from all over the world who are just as excited and passionate about local derbies even though they're miles away. Just because someone wasn't born and bred there, it doesn't mean they are inferior/don't have the right to feel the same way that a local fan can. Anyway, I didn't want to start off any arguments/bad feelings here. I am genuinely a football fan and not just a whinger, however my first post came across! :) I would just like to join in some light-hearted discussion from time to time.

The Official Club Football 2014-2015 thread
Yowza! I thought this was a thread for everyone! I'm not a glory fan expecting success overnight. It's just difficult to come so close to the first final in years and lose it to United. Ah well, onwards and upwards... and I'll think before opening my mouth next time!

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
That was me yes :) but the Coldplay thread is dead now! Most of the chat on there is just general now rather than about the band. :\ I think the timing has made people think it's worse than it actually is. All the talk about the "hiatus" and then the concert cancellations so soon after, people thought it was a bit suspicious. But I agree that now they have explained the reason for the cancellations, which is a serious personal issue, it's awful that people still don't believe them. Why on earth would they use something so serious as an excuse?

Elbow
An Elbow thread! Sorry to be off topic but I'm just discovering all these great threads. :D I was at the MEN gig and I loved it, although I've not been a fan for too long so wasn't that familiar with some of their older stuff. I still haven't seen the South Bank Show special, was away when it was on, I will get round to it though. :)

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
I have to admit... The Killers are my favourites  I love them. I'm Laura'93 on their boards as well and "LMC" on the Victims, if anyone is on there! Iriden, I think I recognise your name from the TKC board! :) I feel really bad for everyone who was travelling from far away to see them in Asia, and for the people living over there who don't get them there too often. I really hope things get better for whoever is unwell, too. The circumstances are very difficult. :(

Hello everybody, my name's Laura - thought I would just say hello and introduce myself. I joined up here last night and I'm just finding my way around the place at the minute! Hope to have a nice stay, I've thought about joining for ages and I'm glad I finally got round to it. :D
