THR Music Editor's Top 10 Albums of 2011( mylo xyloto no 4)
Meh, I found Wasting Light to be mediocre at best. Mylo Xyloto doesn't deserve to be number 1 either though.

CHECK OUT THIS PARADISE COVER!!!
I much prefer the instrumentation on this version. Overall I think I prefer it to the original because somehow the 'para para' isn't as annoying. Great cover.

Anyone have the sheet music to "Christmas Lights"?
What file format is it in?

Car Kids.
OH WOW CAR KIDS I HAVE SUCH AN ERECTION

Just tell if this can be coldplay...does it sound legit?
It's fake.

Bon Iver - Skinny Love
It's in an open C tuning. C-G-E-G-C-C Be careful with it though, the high E string has a tendency to break when it gets tuned so low, particularly on lighter gauge strings.

Grammys: Rock Performance
Only like 2 of those songs are actually rock songs. What a poor shortlist.

What Coldplay songs do you enjoy playing most yourself?
Postcards From Far Away and Paradise are probably the most fun to play on piano, but I just love how those opening chords from Amsterdam sound so I like playing that too. On guitar I'll go with Major Minus and the riffs from Hurts Like Heaven as being the most fun.

The Scientist Live Ending?
I have no idea what you're talking about when you say 'basic progression'. The chords for the song are: - Into and Verses: Dm7, Bb, F, Fsus2 - Chorus: Bb, F, Fsus2 then C, C7 before it goes back to the chorus. From what I can tell in the live version ending that you posted he just sort of plays around with the chords for the chorus. There's no definite way to play it.

Studio Version sounds Really Intimate
Needs more Will harmonies like the live version. :(

Guess the Charlie Brown Single Tracklisting
This. Charlie Brown will either be on a CD or it will have a b-Side. Or both. I'm thinking that a CD without a b-Side is more likely though, since Coldplay seem to have been reluctant to release b-sides over the last few years. Most of the people that are interested in the song will already own it because they bought Mylo Xyloto. I can't imagine Charlie Brown selling many copies unless there's a new reason to buy it.

LP6 Worries me
I have a feeling that some of the songs from the whiteboard in the studio will reappear at some point, possibly for LP6. They clearly put a lot of effort into those songs before they scrapped them and in an interview a few months ago they said something about 'gathering songs like a squirrel gathers nuts' for future albums.

Mylo Tour Programme
If Love In A Lethal Dose was supposed to be played before Til Kingdom Come it was probably an acoustic song from when the album was more intimate. If they were considering playing acoustic songs for Glastonbury back in 2010 then quite a lot of the acoustic songs survived for a while. MX could really have been something special.

Coldplay's Chris Martin: 'X Factor is important for music industry'
I'm betting that he said this as a way of retracting his comments that criticised the X-Factor in the past. Very few musicians actually think that X-Factor is anything that's worth praising.

ITV: Coldplay confirmed to perform on X Factor Final on Sunday 11th December at Wembley Arena
Well in the UK, the X-Factor is considered to be an awful show by anybody over the age of 18. There's an emphasis on becoming famous or a 'star' rather than actual talent. Also, looks seem to be more important than singing ability and the 'judges' are pretentious douchebags. Basically it's just trashy television for trashy people. Yes, the band will get a huge amount of exposure from the show but it certainly won't be 'good' exposure. The X-Factor is synonymous with generic, manufactured pop-acts and it isn't a show that Coldplay should be associated with.

ITV: Coldplay confirmed to perform on X Factor Final on Sunday 11th December at Wembley Arena
This a very poor decision. It's a shame that the band feel the need to lower themselves to perform on trash like X-Factor. I'm very disappointed. If they're going to perform on TV they should stick to quality shows rather than pieces of shit like this.

What is the most underrated Coldplay song to date?
Definitely Amsterdam, I'd also probably give Swallowed in the Sea a mention if it wasn't for the ridiculously awful lyrics. Musically though the song is fantastic.

The Best 2011 Festival's Tour concert was...
Glastonbury in my opinion, the band's performance wasn't as strong as it was in Rio but the crowd were incredible. The sing-along during The Scientist was simply magical.

Tomorrow tribute lyrics I wrote...post your thoughts
Surprisingly, those lyrics aren't actually shit. They're much better than Paradise at least. Not a bad effort, definitely sounds like something from the MX era.

Is it just me...
As with all the songs, I think it would have been more powerful if it was heard for the first time on the album. It was already played live so we all sort of knew what to expect and that cheapens the song a little bit. They also should jave kept Will's harmonies on the 'float away' part. It was my favourite bit.

Chris & Guy Xlyophone clip months ago, what song is it on Mylo Xyloto???
It's a nice little melody. I have a feeling that it was more prominent in an earlier version of the song before they went crazy on the bass and strings part.

With the upcoming tour.. Any chance for Christmas Lights?
There's no reason not to play it if they're doing a show around Christmas. It's one of their best songs too.

Did Brian Eno improve Coldplay's music?
I think Eno's input on Viva La Vida was absolutely extraordinary. After X&Y the band definitely needed somebody to come in and change things up a bit and he did that extremely well. Eno focused the band and LP4 probably would have been as much as a mess as X&Y was, maybe even more so without him. On MX though I think he hindered the band's progress by insisting on all those beeps and sound effects. It could have been partly his idea to move away from the acoustic album which was a bad move in my opinion. For LP6 I think the band should try making the album without his input and go for a more acoustic approach. It's probably the most logical next step for them. And yeah I know that one of the reasons to scrap the acoustic thing was because they thought it wouldn't be exciting live but at this point I think they need to learn from what Radiohead did with Kid A and forget about what it would sound like live and just make a fantastic record.

'Collection of Mylo Xyloto reviews after the dust has settled' thread
Too much emphasis on the lyrics, especially since Coldplay have never had good lyrics and yet the reviewer constantly mentions 'classic Coldplay.' Other than that though, there are some very valid points. It's actually one of the better reviews of the album I've read.

Q MAGAZINE Rates Mylo Xyloto 5/5 Stars (Scans now in first post)
This was expected considering the enormous pulsating hard-on Q have had for Coldplay recently.
