  1. I don't actually care that the word doesn't mean anything. I think it's really clever what they're trying to do here. Since both words aren't actually real words (except Mylo being a name maybe), for decades to come Mylo Xyloto will always be synonymous with Coldplay. It can never be related to anything else because it never existed before Coldplay invented it. Just like how the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury can never be lit up again without references to Coldplay.
  2. This. MX doesn't have a registered length at all on the database.
  3. Thanks a lot. I'm not sure if this was the intention, but you've raised my hopes and expectations of the album quite considerably. I have a feeling that either Up With The Birds or Up In Flames will be my favourite on the album. And seriously guys, where have you got the idea that Mylo Xyloto is a full song? The Oracle has never said anything about it being a full song, it isn't registered on the PRS as being 3:30 long either. Personally I believe that the review is genuine. It's only natural that you talk about songs in more detail if you've heard them previously. I'm sure nobody would be be able to remember all the new songs perfectly, especially when there's loads of other of new songs to take in too.

This. Although what I'd like to hear is Chris Martin farting into a microphone for 15 minutes, just so I could see the fangirls proclaim it as genius.
  5. Hmm... I don't know if I should go. Do you guys think they'll play in the UK again next year? That would be a much better time for me.
  6. Moving to Mars is more interesting, less predictable, and has better lyrics. I may be being too harsh on Up In Flames because I haven't actually heard a high quality version but to be honest I can't see it topping Moving to Mars.
  7. Guys, please shut up about the review. We're lucky she's even doing one at all. Stop complaining.
  8. Who's we? Viva La Vida was a great album.
  9. There's quite a few references to old songs there too. They'll probably use that graffiti in their live shows. It feels like we're being mocked with all those Moving to Mars references, as if they know how much people love it and still won't play it live.
  10. ETIAW and Major Minus might not be getting new mixes after all. On the Coldplay website you can listen to audio clips of ETIAW and Major Minus on the Mylo Xyloto album in the recordings section. There's no difference what so ever between the clips and the full released songs. Although I wouldn't be surprised if they're doing this to mislead us.
  11. This. B-flat major scale: B♭, C, D, E♭, F, G, A, B♭ G minor scale: G, A, B♭, C, D, E♭, F, G The notes are exactly the same, but in a different order. In theory it could sound as if Hurts Like Heaven and Paradise are the same song.
  12. "I sometimes feel perhaps we should stop touring and just go and live for a little while. Just to get some new ideas before we start recording again." Is there a hint in there about Coldplay breaking up for a while before LP6? I actually think that would be quite a good idea. They could start totally from scratch on LP6 with new ideas, forget everything they've done before and just write an album as if it was their debut album. Similar to what Radiohead did with In Rainbows I suppose, which turned out to be a fantastic album.
  13. ^He'd be fantastic in the female vocal role.
  14. This is about as close to a source as we're getting.
  15. Here it is to anybody who doesn't have Spotify. I think this makes it a very strong possibility that there will be a different mix on the album, especially considering they were still working on the album until very recently. I have a feeling that rather than taking things away they'll be adding more unfortunately. In my opinion taking off a few layers would improve both the songs greatly. One of the most likely changes is probably going to be an ambient intro and outro to the songs so they flow into the next song on the album. This is supposed to be a single piece of music after all.
  16. Because Clocks is more complex musically so when Chris is singing 'you are' there's bass, drums and and that iconic piano riff playing too which keeps the song interesting. There's also a longer period of time between the choruses. With Up In Flames there's nothing there other than that dull tick-tock drum beat and piano chords so it sounds a lot less interesting. The verses are quite short in Up In Flames too which means that there's a chorus, a 30 second gap, then the chorus again which gets tedious. That being said, I think Up In Flames is one of the better songs from this era.
  17. It will definitely 'leak' on the 19th of October when it's released in Japan if it hasn't already, but technically it wouldn't really be a leak. I'm betting it will leak a few weeks before release due to the CDs being printed and one of the workers in the warehouses taking a copy home.
  18. ETIAW and Paradise would be great as instrumentals. They'd be better without all that para-para wa-wa bullshit.
  19. 1) Moving to Mars 2) Us Against The World 3) Hurts Like Heaven 4) Charlie Brown 5) Major Minus 6) Paradise 7) Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall
  20. No, frankly it's not even half as good as their old stuff. And before somebody comes and says it, I don't want Parachutes II either.
  21. Did anybody notice how Will said something about the album being 14 or 11 tracks that can be listened to in one go? Maybe he's hinting that 3 of the tracks are just short instrumental songs that aren't technically songs at all and that only 11 songs are full length pieces. If this is true, I think that the most likely candidates to be short songs are MMIX, UFO and A Hopeful Transmission.
  22. Cleggy replied to LetsTalk212's topic in Paradise
No surprises here, Paradise is better live. It just sounds more intimate and organic and you can actually hear the instruments. I just don't undersatnd why Coldplay insist on throwing synths at it that drown everything out in the studio version when it's clearly better without them. Same with Major Minus, it really doesn't need those vocal effects. ETIAW is crap both live and in the studio.
  23. I sort of like the fast version, Coldplay don't have a lot of fast songs so it's refreshing.
