Mylo Xyloto Limited Edition Release Date 12/12/11!
LOL! :laugh3: Exact same for me. Except I got a text too. And that text woke me up at like 2 am. Why are bank transactions always in the middle of the night? I get my direct deposits from work between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. as well.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
I work at a movie theater called Cinemark. So I went to work today and was behind the concession stand minding my own business when I start to hear a familiar tune, I look up and low and behold a shortened version (1:30) of the ETIAW video is playing on the T.V.s in the lobby that play the pre-movie advertisements (these play on the big screens before the previews of a movie start as well). The first time I heard it I completely forgot my customer's order as I gawked at the screen. :P I was so shocked! Usually I have to listen to the likes of Hanson, Joe Jonas, Plain White T's (I swear to God I had to listen to Hanson's "Give a Little" for around 7 months) mixed in with Android ads, car ads, and local business ads. It continued to distract me every time it came on the rest of the day. :laugh3: It made my day so much better, though. It's one little piece of relief in those annoying ads (and bad music) that repeat every 30 minutes or so. It was funny because the song after it is so sucky in comparison. It's a country song by an artist I don't know called "falling in love on a ferris wheel." Yeah even the name is bad.

Coldplay GLEE episode next week?
This is pretty much how I feel about the situation. It doesn't bother me that much to be honest.

Coldplay on the 25th anniversary of Q-magazine
Dumb question, but is this issue out in Barnes and Noble right now? If so, I'm going to run to the nearest one asap and snatch that sucker up!

The Community Thread
Inspector Space Time was hilarious! I knew what was going on there as soon as Britta mentioned that it was a British Sci-Fi show that had been going since the late 1960's. I loved Abed's reaction too, "This is the best show I've ever seen" :D

I know a lot of you guys who haven't been charged yet are wondering when you will be charged. I just thought I'd let you guys know that I got charged today for my pre-order. Under my order status on the Merch Direct website it says Preorder Paid. Just a heads up. Make sure you have enough cash in your account.

Who else is sick of the stereotypes surrounding their home state/nation/whatever?
Yep it did. :P I agree with the consensus that your accent is slight. I like to think mine is too, although I don't know if that's completely true. I hate going out of state and being associated with all the Texas stereotypes. It's so embarassing! I think we have some of the worst stereotypes of any state (not that other states don't, ours are just worse).

Who else is sick of the stereotypes surrounding their home state/nation/whatever?
I second this! I think we've had a similar conversation in the Muse thread. Yes, I'm Texan. No I do not wear those ridiculous hats and boots, ride a horse, or speak with a Texas "twang".

Coldplay - 'Falling' song in Breaking Dawn Pt. 1 Soundtrack?
 "Neutron Star Collision" was a disaster, and I like Muse! I can only imagine what a Coldplay song made for the Twilight soundtrack would sound like.

Mylo Xyloto Limited Edition Release Date 12/12/11!
I agree that waiting is more about the quality of the "Limited Edition". Those pop-up books look extremely fragile and look like they pretty much have to be put together by hand. Also the studio dairy seems extensive too.

Mylo Xyloto Limited Edition Release Date 12/12/11!
I was wary of spending the money, but I think it will be worth it! I love the looks of the pop-up book! I also would love to read the studio diary. I love all the interesting things you learn from those things. As far as payment goes I used my debit card and I thought I had been charged immediately, but I looked back at my bank statement and I wasn't. Weird. So I'm in the same boat as you guys.

Have you ever met...
I've never met them. The best (and easiet) place to meet them is the Bakery/ Beehive and I live way to far away from London to try and run into them there. I really do wish I could meet at least one of them in my lifetime. I'll have to try to catch them at the airport or at the venue when they come to my city during the official MX Tour.

UIF WORLD DEBUT - watch the video
Listened to the song once because I couldn't resist. I found it quite boring. As some other people have stated, even though it's back to basics with just the guys, a simple song needs to have a good foundation. This song just isn't cutting it. So far (I'll reserve my full judgement until I hear the album) this is actually my least favorite that we have heard so far during this era. My favorites are Charlie Brown and Hurts Like Heaven.

A Couple Months Later...
I found myself feeling the exact same way after a couple months and many listens. The vocals don't bother me at all anymore. They seem to fit right into the song for me.

Paradise is the most haunting song from the MX era so far
Thank you so much for saying something positive about "Paradise". The negative comments have been getting me down all day. I wasn't impressed by the song the first time I heard it, but I never hated it, and it's growing on me. :) I agree with what your thoughts about the way that "Para Para Paradise" is like a chant more than a chorus. The way it is repeated and the ethereal wall of sound is hypnotising to me, almost like meditating or something. I also find it amazing that the music has the same emotion to me as the word "Paradise". That's powerful stuff. I have found through listening that maybe this is where the beauty in this song lies. I was kind of wanting for more lyrics in this song, but maybe it doesn't need it after all.

What do you think of the new song 'Paradise'?
It's true that I might like the song in the context of the album. I sure hope so, since it's a concept album! I still feel the lyrics are lacking, though. The best way I can explain it is that I was expecting something more like "Viva" lyric wise. They're intelligent and it also tells a story within the lyrics. And I did say that maybe the song would grow on me. I know I haven't had enough time to completely get used to it or soak it in yet. At the end of that trial it may become my favorite song or I may hate it. I don't know. In response to comparing ETIAW and Paradise, I feel I chose the word "weaker" poorly. What I meant to say is that in my opinion as of right now, I enjoy ETIAW more than Paradise.

What do you think of the new song 'Paradise'?
Here are my thoughts. I've been listening throughout the day, so I have listened to it a good 15 times or so. I really do love the beginning and the build-up to the verse. I don't really even mind the dubsteppy synth or the hip-hop beats. I actually like them. It's pretty cool. The sound is ethereal and immense and I really enjoy it. I just don't like Chris's lyrics. I was expecting so much more lyrically from a song that starts with "When she was a girl she expected the world but it flew away from her reach so she ran away in her sleep". To me, it seems like there's a whole lot of story that could have been explored in this song, but no, just a lot of reapeating. I'm fine with the Para para paradise to a certain amount of repeats, but this song just has it one too many times. Instrumental - 8, Lyrics and vocals - 4, so I gave it a 6 all together. I think that this song is weaker than ETIAW. I've actually come to love ETAIW. It grew on me quite a lot in the last few months. Maybe this song will grow on me. I don't know. I still have hope that Mylo Xyloto is harboring some freaking awesome tunes that we haven't heard yet. I also know that I like all the other songs I've heard so far. I'm hoping that "Up in Flames" and "Don't Let it Break Your Heart" are good. I'm going to hear them on Friday at ACL.

SERIOUS OPINIONS
I'm right there with you. I'm kind of afraid to listen after reading these comments. I'll buy it when I wake up, give it a few listens, and then see what I think. Hope it's not terrible!

Abstaining from new material until album release?
I had already planned on buying and listening to Paradise. :) I wish I could abstain from DLIBYH and Up in Flames, but I'm going to Austin City Limits. I can't escape them! I'm not going to download them when I get home from the festival though, so that I will only have had heard them each only once during the live performance so they'll at least have some kind of freshness when I listen to the album on Oct 25th.

Official Tracklist!!!
I'm way late for the party. I went to work and then went to see Contagion right after work so I've been gone like 11 or 12 hrs. :P It's so nice to come home to this! Here's my two cents. I'm so glad the album has 14 tracks. There will be 5 songs of which I have never heard once I pick up the album and that makes me happy. I thought there would only be one or two tracks that I hadn't heard. I'm going to hear Paradise, DLIBYH, and Up in Flames all before the album comes out since they're playing them at Austin City Limits and I'm going to be there. I'm glad that ETIAW is not closing the album. The use of A Hopeful Transmission near the end of the album gives me hope that the album's story will have a happy ending.
