Show us your art!
That's good! And remember that it will take practice, so be patient. Take it from me. I was in magnet art in high school and I'm a junior in the drawing and painting program at my college. It has taken me quite a long time to get where I am now.

I'm glad that you embrace your cartoon/ animated style. I understand why your art teacher is pushing you for realism. He probably just wants you to have a good foundation. Just do your best and don't fret too much.

Don't be ashamed! Not everyone is meant to draw realistically. I really like your cartoons and you are really good at them. That's just your style. :) It may be hard, but try to embrace it! I'm not a master of realism at all, myself as you can tell by my paintings. :P

I'm enjoying looking at the work here! Some really amazing stuff! I thought I would share some of my own as well. Here are some paintings I did this semester. The bottom one is one of my more recent ones.

You know you're addicted to Coldplay when...
I still find it amazing that Chris doesn't know how to read music! It boggles my mind. :freak:

2012 tour date rumours (please post dates for ALL countries in here)
I have my money all saved up, and they have still not announced the dates. I'm gonna have to be careful not to blow it all during Christmas! I know the moment I give up and start spending it is the moment they will announce the presale. :P I'm really hoping they come to Dallas again! They came twice last tour. *fingers crossed*.

The Hunger Games books are awesome! :D Definitely read them. Judging by the trailer the movie will be awesome too! Of course movies are never as good as the books, but it looks good.

The "things I wish I could say" thread
I agree that the series is an easy read and somewhat enjoyable read up until the last book. Awww LOL! The thirteen year old boys by themselves. They just didn't want to admit they were fans. :P

The "things I wish I could say" thread
I have read the books. I read them before the movie was planned as well. The fourth one in my opinion was a terrible fanfiction that I almost refuse to aknowledge exists. It turned me off of the whole series. I have seen the first three movies, all of wich sucked. These are the reasons why I refuse to see this one. Yep. I saw the same kind of people you mentioned. I find the 40 year old women fanbase kind of creepy. It's so weird. I also felt bad for the guys being dragged along with their girlfriends/ wives.

The "things I wish I could say" thread
I work at a movie theater and today was opening day. Crap was it busy. I don't plan on actually going to see the movie. I hate Twilight. I can't bring myself to watch the movie at all, even if I have friends who want to see it and I get to see it for free. The crappy work day didn't improve my opinion of it either. You should see the annoying pre-teen/ teen girls and other crazy people that movie brings in. It drove me nuts.

Post pics of the city you live in
I would post pictures I have taken of my city, but I really don't have many. I don't ever think about taking pictures because I see the same things every day. :P So here's some pictures found on google. These first ones are of the closest big city I live to, Dallas, TX. Dallas Skyline from going over the bridge on lake Ray Hubbard Texas Star Ferris Wheel at Fair Park Sculpture in front of the Dallas Museum of Art Inside the American Airlines Center. Coldplay Played here during Viva tour. The next ones are of my university and surrounding areas in Denton, TX About 40 miles away from the big city. The courthouse on the square. Administration building and the main mall Installation in front of the Art Building (where I spend a majority of my life). The Fish and Chips bus. My favorite! It is there every weekday from 5 pm- 10 pm Fry Street. The main drag for all the student bars. Apogee Stadium. Our fancy new football stadium that we spent way too much money on seeing as our team is complete crap. :P

I have also never won anything. I've been entering the contests every single messenger since the beginning of Viva Era. If I ever win something I'll let you guys know. I really hope somebody on here wins something eventually.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
I second this! I got the e-mail about their iPad app that had the album, but seeing as I do not have an iPad, I can't download it. Wish they made it available for iPod/iPhone.

Promo for the Ellen Show - airing Thursday
This looks like it will be quite enjoyable. I like the questions she is asking. And I love the answers. Especially Jonny's: Jonny - "I think the longest relationship we've had is with eachother." *looks at Chris* (or something similar, don't remember the direct quote). Ellen - "How long has it been?" Jonny - "Around 14 years" Chris - "Jonny, How can you forget our aniversary?! It's 15 years next week!" :laugh3:

First Impressions of Mylo Xyloto (and vote in the 1-10 sliding scale poll!)
Same for me! I didn't get to buy it on release day because I was out of town, but I was in love since first listen and I still absolutely love it. And I miss it so much now that Viva Era is well said and done with. It comes in just a smidge behind AROBTTH as my second favorite. I became a fan during X&Y era, but I was more of a casual fan until Viva. Viva era was also the first time I got to see them live. We have a lot in common!

I agree. I think Viva is going to stand the test of time and I'm not sure MX will, although it's too soon to judge. I put on Viva yesterday inbetween my many repeats of MX and it was so refreshing. I think I love it even more now that the era is over. You know how they say you realize how much you love something when it's gone. That's kind of how I feel about Viva.

New Coldplay eh?
Very nicely put. This is how I am feeling as well. I want to love the album so much, but it really doesn't do anything for me even after 11 listens. I had high expectations after Viva (which is now my second favorite album) because it was so amazing and I loved it on first listen. I am just dissapointed. That doesn't mean there aren't good things about the album, because there are. To me though, there seems to be more wrong with it than right. I sorely wished they hadn't squandered their original idea of an acoustic album. I would have really loved that album. I also think it was a bad idea to mix parts of that album with the other electronic album idea they had going. If they had kept those two ideas separate albums I think each respectively would have been stronger than this one. If there is any purpose this album serves is that I hope it is a stepping stone to a better direction. I'm looking forward to Lp6.

First Impressions of Mylo Xyloto (and vote in the 1-10 sliding scale poll!)
This is pretty much how I'm feeling about the album. I had really high expectations after Viva la Vida and Prospekt's March. Viva has become my second favorite album. It was so amazing! I was expecting to be wowed as much with MX as I was the first time I listened to Viva. I just feel a little dissapointed. The album still hasn't "clicked" completely with me even after 11 listens in the past 2 days. :/ There are things I like, but this is the first time I've heard a Coldplay song I can't stand, Up in Flames. Also, there isn't a clear standout track like Viva was for it's respective album.

Songs that have grown on me. (and vice versa)
I'm with you! Major Minus is one of my favorites! The studio version of Hurts like Heaven has grown on me a little. I wasn't a fan first listen, because I thought the vocal effects slaughtered the beauty of it, but I'm quite enjoying it now. I was not a fan of Paradise the first day I heard it as a single, and it's still not a favorite, but I enjoy it a lot more now. Charlie Brown has been a favorite for me since the summer and continues to be. Up in Flames is no better than the cruddy recorded live version. And I still don't like it after 11 or so listens to the album. PoC has gone downhill for me. I was tolerable of the track at first, but now I actually get kind of angry when I hear the track and skip it because I can't stand the pain any longer. I agree with others that the ending AHT, DLIBYH, UWTB has really really grown on me. They all flow well together and it makes such a beautiful ending.

What Is The Best Coldplay Album ( according to fans)
A Rush of Blood to the Head.
