  1. It hasn't got that much edge, really. It's very U2-lite, and doesn't remind me much of Radiohead, especially HTTT-era. I agree that ETIAW is better. People are being unnecessarily harsh to that song :(

Even if he did make it up on the spot, it's good enough to work on. Some of Muse's songs have come from piano interludes that Matt Bellamy plays on stage (Space Dementia, New Born, Butterflies and Hurricanes, Neutron Star Collision).
  3. 1. Mylo Xyloto 2. Hurts Like Heaven 3. Princess of China 4. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall 5. Charlie Brown 6. Us Against The World 7. Up With The Birds 8. Major Minus 9. Up In Flames 10. A Hopeful Transmission 11. Tomorrow I'm hoping they leave off Great Expectations, as it sounds like a Viva cast-off.
  4. I think they'd be missing out on it not being a single. It's a sure-fire number one, in any country, and you know, it's one hell of a third single. It's like keeping Lionel Messi on the bench behind two other players :P
  5. And the problem with this is...? :P
  6. Everything In Its Right Place is in 10/8 I believe.

Here's a decent album cover: Banksy did the cover of Think Tank by Blur.
  8. Well, Godsend was based partly on Green Eyes, and the chorus (after closer inspection) we realised was the middle eight of Clocks (also used in Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z and Acquiesce by Oasis, but what can you do?). The vocals aren't me, I am keyboardist. Yeah Leave The Floor's currently being recorded, as the kick drum is kack. It's a lot heavier in influence, and not so much Coldplay. The most Coldplay songs we have actually aren't up there (Euphoria and Nebulous Rave) but Euphoria's being released tomorrow. Perhaps they don't sound Coldplay-influenced, but Chris Martin's the reason I began playing keyboard and writing music. He's the influence in my life. But thanks for your kind words and criticism, much appreesh :)

Does anyone know the name of the artist who's done the covers? I heard it was someone called... Paris? Should've got Banksy in, really.
  10. Hey, if any of you are interested, my band's Facebook page is http://www.facebook.com/circuitchase Coldplay are a big influence. I try and write big stadium-filling choruses.
  11. Top albums of last year imo were: Plastic Beach by Gorillaz The Surburbs by Arcade Fire My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy by Kanye West Plastic Beach is 16 tracks. The Suburbs is also 16 tracks. MBDTF is only 13, but does have a running time of nearly 70 minutes. As much as I agree short albums are good, long ones can be too if they're consistent.
  12. 1. Paradise 2. Paradise (The Prodigy remix ft. The Wu Tang Clan & NWA) 3. Gold Digger ft. Gwyneth Paltrow & The Bee Gees 4. Remember You're A Womble ft. Miley Cyrus & Radiohead I have my sources. EDIT: Gwyneth rapping, of course.
  13. The cover looks great! Love it.
  14. I don't get The Pierces. They're really boring, and Coldplay are out of their league. I hope to God this association ends. Soon.
  15. "Slowly walking down a cannonball, faster than a cannonball" "And on the palm of her hand is a blister" "And she makes me laugh, I got her autograph" Please never suggest Noel Gallagher to be a good lyricist.
  16. People seem to be getting the wrong end of the stick (man) here. I'm not trying to plug anything, I just found it funny and wanted to share it.
  17. As I said, it's in no way advertising the band, as we have no music to advertise. I'm literally advertising our name and our logo. I placed it here, as it's related to MX, so no need to talk down to me :/
  18. X&Y's the dullest album in my opinion. They sound too comfortable for me. Viva's fantastic, and as for the whole Eno influence, he didn't write the songs, Chris did. Eno was an influence, you can't blame him for that. It shows that they only perform one track from X&Y these days imo.
  19. Yeah, I am 100% joking. I knew it would come off as trying to plug my band, but hey, we've got bugger all to promote - as it says, the album's half done :P Obviously, it's our logo because Fernando is "chasing" and we're Circuit Chase. Nothing original and exciting. Quite tacky really. I prefer fuzzy man.
  20. Oh and I'm the one in the photo with the Viva La Vida t-shirt, to add even more fuel to this!
  21. As you're well aware, the fuzzy man is a new icon of the MX era. Well, my band Circuit Chase came up with our own running man about a year ago! We named him Fernando, and he appears in our logo, available here: http://circuitchase.com/ Thought it was rather amusing that they'd come up with something after us - given the copyright claims of Viva. Just thought I'd share that with you all :)
  22. Yeah there's definitely 4/4 in there, it just carries two extra bars at one point, methinks.
  23. Could you tell us some more about the song that we may not know :P
