  1. Dunno what you're trying to say because I agree with you...
  2. Best thing I've read on this forum. I mean, has anyone LISTENED to the charts? Coldplay don't use autotune, rapping, say their name at the start of their songs, and they - especially recently - are very guitar-centric, something that is out of favour in the charts. For people to say that this era is "mainstream" goes totally against Hurts Like Heaven, Charlie Brown, Major Minus AND the two singles. Music can be beautiful whether it's played on one acoustic or by a full orchestra.
  3. I'm directing this at the both of you, and I can assure you, I couldn't give two shits whether you dislike the new songs or not. I'm simply asking the both of you to grow up a little and stop spamming this thread with mindless rubbish. I won't reply again, and neither should you if you want to be adult about this.
  4. Perhaps. I think we need to see how MX goes first!
  5. I'm someone trying to have a discussion about a band I love. Take your petty argument elsewhere.
  6. Both of you, shut up. You're both Coldplay fans with differing opinions, accept that, move on, and stop acting like childish morons.
  7. I'm not really a fan of any of them to be honest. The best suggestion we've had so far is Godrich, but it totally depends on direction. I'd say they'd need to scale down after this, go more atmospheric, and I think Godrich or Dangermouse could do that.
  8. The awkward moment when Chris rhymes "all is lost" with "everything's not lost". Inventive that.
  9. Fantastic post and I agree with every dripping syllable.

Can't work out if they hate it or love it. It tends to over-analyse every little detail and doesn't make a conclusion on it. Not the best review I've read...

I also love the strings. I don't see how people can call this average, then praise In My Place or Yellow. It's a typical Coldplay song, and we're Coldplay fans, so what's the big problem?
  12. Maybe they like her? It's not as simple as "This song has feeling, get Adele". I don't like Rihanna as much as the next Coldplayer, but let's reserve some judgement for when, you know, we've actually heard it.
  13. I love Hurts Like Heaven and Charlie Brown. I'm excited for Princess of China - I don't care that Rihanna's on it, I'm listening because I love Coldplay. I listened to Paradise on Radio 1 this morning, and I nearly cried. It's a new step for the band, and I can't wait to be there for it. Music's more than just guitars, pianos and whether you're sticking to your roots. It's about expressing yourself in more than words. Chris Martin will always have a gift for being able to do that, regardless of what direction Coldplay take.
  14. I've also been a Coldplay fan quite a while, and actually, I do think this new direction is good. It's bringing Johnny to the fore, it's mixing contemporary chart music with the Viva blueprint, and it's more intriguing than the simple Yellow. I know you couldn't "give two shits" what I think, but seriously, that band make music to please themselves and if this pleases them, let them.
  15. I think this is pathetic. They're still the same band, they just don't want to produce an album full of Clocks replicas. They're moving off into a new direction, and regardless of whether it's "pop" or not, they write the greatest songs known to music, so why don't we all just reserve opinion for when we've heard the album and accept that times change, eh? Honestly...
  16. AHH brilliant! :D Thank you thank you thank you thank you!
  17. I can get it as an album track from MX... ...But I've already ordered the book. So can I get it as a single? I know it's daft, I just want the Paradise artwork etc.
  18. Oh God I hope so.
  19. How can you say that? The Pierces are dull as dishwater...
  20. Why compare? They're totally different bands. I love Paradise.
  21. They know what they're doing. Like he said, she sounds different. Keep the faith!
  22. Not being mean to the lovely Guy Berryman, but what's the most he does on a Coldplay song? From what I can see it's all very simple... He must be capable of more surely? Don't get me wrong, he carries Clocks. I just wondered whether he's ever had a bigger contribution that I've missed somewhere.
  23. This song makes me want to cry with happiness. Coldplay at their most beautifully fantastic.

See I haven't heard an alien-esque intro, but that's the sort of thing I expect.
