REQ: Forever Young by Youth Group
Hellooo.... *sigh* it's been quite a while since I've last been here. Miss y'all so much :) Does anyone have the song Forever Young by Aussie band Youth Group? I bought their album thinking this song would've been in it. The album's really good but the song isn't in there... What a travesty! I've been hearing it a lot lately and it's been getting under my skin... I'd really like to have it on my com so I could listen to it whenever I want. WOuld someone be kind enough to send it to me ([email protected]) or upload it here please? I'd be most grateful, thank you :D

Radiohead
^ Glad you love it Julia :) It is one helluva album! Me, I'm going on a retrospective Radiohead adventure... I started off with Kid A, then HTTT followed by Amnesiac, and it's been backwards ever since. Got OK Computer the same time as X&Y and just got the Bends a couple of weeks ago... Next up is Pablo Honey for me... Hopefully before the new one comes up :D <-- this is not exactly a trail I'd recommend to anyone who's starting off on a tour of the musical greats... It might put you off Radiohead permanently (like it almost did me). Try the Bends first, especially if you like guitars, nice hooks & a great voice. OK Computer's harder to listen to, but you might appreciate it right away if you're already into relatively heavier/less radio-friendly stuff e.g. Muse and other guitar-gnashing bands. Kid A is not for novices, ever. Not unless you can already take in complexities in rhythm, sound and instrumental parts altogether at once... You might then appreciate it for its complexity and learn to love its beauty later. Otherwise you'll find it plain weird & all a bit too much to swallow at one go... Trust me, I listened to half of Kid A once, and never touched Radiohead again for another two whole years  :D Boy, how much good music I missed all those years... Long live Radiohead!

^ Ooh, yes!!! Very much. You guys live in such a beautiful country :o . And the people really take care of things... It's so heartening to see a place where people still care about stuff and make an effort to preserve what they have and try to make everyone's life better. Thanks Bonita :)

First Impression of Coldplay
I heard Yellow on the radio and was resolutely unimpressed... I actually felt disappointed since the local indie media was just short of raving / salivating over them (and they're usually spot on) But then Trouble came along on the telly and that changed everything :D

Coldplay Disappointed At Three Albums
I think many of us were disappointed coz we kinda felt that they "sold out" in a way... I mean the potential for the songs in X&Y was just enormous... It's like they put out a half-finished album that only eventually got completed as they went on tour and played out the songs "live". One thing's for sure though, they went right ahead and headed exactly in just the musical direction that they wanted to go... Good for 'em I say :)

WTF, dude?Drug addict?
^ Not to knock him or anything, but maybe he just wasn't quite interested enough in either compared to doing music?

Coldplay Disappointed At Three Albums
Haha... great they're saying that. But there's no way they can churn out an album in a few weeks. Once they get into the studio, all the pressure to make a 'great/mindblowing album' will come... I just hope they can recognise that and try to take a more 'fun' approach to recording their stuff, it would make for so many new songs. Their b-sides are so much less 'loaded' with expectations and it shows... They need songs like that in their albums... X&Y was just too operatic (worryingly, the albums are getting heavier, and heavier... even Til Kingdom Come was heavy  ) So for the new album(s)... Keyword = FUN! On the other hand, one of the key reasons why their albums tend to be listenable & durable (compared to so many bands out there) is because they do take the trouble to hone their sound and get a good balance. The more I listen to X&Y, the more ok I am with it. It's still one of the few albums that doesn't bore me after so many listens... For me, that is the mark of a great album...
