  1. The worse parts of the songs... Now for the good parts: It has a catchy bass too, except there's an even catchier one on White Shadows which now overshadows The World Turned... too much repeating of a good thing? Pour Me would be quite good actually, it has some few interesting ideas musically but the guys just didn't spend enough effort gelling it all together... Instead, this combination jars and nothing really stands out. It is one of their most crappy releases to date- the ideas are there but they're not ready for listening yet- reminds me of the time I first heard the pre-AROBTTH version of Amsterdam live in Sydney. I cringed and thought, "thank god these guys keep working and improving on their songs, it's unrecognisably bad". Then, I didn't know how crappy their unready songs could be... Same comment for the rest of X&Y, the foursome really didn't spend enough time refining & rehearsing their songs, and it shows in most of the songs on this one. I am disappointed with how they let slip all the potential
  2. ^ Not similarity... More of influences, quotations of snatches of Radiohead if you like :D
  3. I don't think I'll miss it, somehow - that Man U incident last season was ridiculous and made a mockery of football......................... Which one was it again, I'm embarassed as a Man U fan I can't remember :embarrased: Well, I suppose there'll always be the off-side rule to start the tongues wagging  *If I remember correctly, Roy Carroll was in goal, it was against Spurs?, a long shot? and the ball was so far over the line even Carroll couldn't believe it hadn't been given?? Oh yeah... Now I remember... T'was something like that. It was quite unbelievable
  4. Your Score Your scored -1.5 on the Moral Order axis and 1 on the Moral Rules axis. Bush (60.91%)
  5. But the governor of Lousiana didn't ask for help before the hurricane hit... I still say the federal government should have done more... How is a local government supposed to deal with something so devastating no matter what it says about being able to "handle the situation"? Granted you could argue that the authorities never expected a hurricane of this magnitude to hit, but federal agencies should still have been prepared to act in the event that help became evidently needed. After all, this is what disaster preparation is all about. The president has a responsibility to get the agencies working together in some semblance of a co-operation. This is what a leader is for- to get people working together so they can better achieve a common goal, not get in each other's way.
  6. It's compguy347's birthday today! Lets make a thread to celebrate... :jester: :juggle: Happy 20th to you and many happy returns of the day!
  7. I don't think I'll miss it, somehow - that Man U incident last season was ridiculous and made a mockery of football......................... Which one was it again, I'm embarassed as a Man U fan I can't remember :embarrased: Well, I suppose there'll always be the off-side rule to start the tongues wagging
  8. Watching Season 4, I think... It's the one with the Salazars and the Chase and Chloe thingy right? Watched part of Season 1. I think Season 4's better :P Donald Sutherland deserves an Emmy for this season (if he hasn't already)
  9. OKay then i will write that way if you want me to I will try my best but, you could of said that in different words okay I WON'T WRITE IN CAPS NO MORE! Welcome Reilly, I like the boards much better when everything's more fuzzy and nice :) coldplay#1, thanks for removing the CAPS, it's much easier to read your posts now :D
  10. Well, since you want it and have made a post for it... Here's 200 bling for ya... Would have given you more, but I've sent all my previous bling to other more-deserving people- ahem :D
  11. Where Is My Boy? "You're not just anyone..."
  12. Well said Kevin, I don't get why education systems/policies can't have both in schools. And I extend this to the Creationism vs Evolutionism theories being fought out in US schools as well. I think having both'd be great for promoting greater understanding between people and moulding more balanced individuals. Why can't we admit to ourselves that both belief systems might be possible... -Ai Ling
  13. It's old, but your president is unbelievable... He knew, yet he did not cut short his holiday to organise/review preparations for any potentially-needed rescue operations to cope with a huge national disaster that could strike the country??? Forget the fact that he's the president, does he even have a heart?!! Fuck, anybody with half a brain, some knowledge of history (i.e. how federal organisations tend to be notoriously underprepared to deal with mass disasters), and who cared even just a little about a fellow human being's welfare would definitely have taken more action than Bush did if he/she were in Bushy's shoes! It's disgraceful. And I'm speaking from the point of view of another human being, not on his ability/responsibility as prez... He should be ashamed, even third-world countries respond better :embarrased: .
  14. OMG. It's like a contagion... Now it's happened in this part of the world :(
  15. It's about time... Though I will miss all the gabble that surrounds controversies over goals that should/should not have been :D
  16. Yep, the Iraqi government gets money from the taxes it gets from the oil companies. But you see... what do they use the money for? Is enough of it spent on healthcare, infrastructure and education for the people (assuming they do have healthcare and education systems in the first place), or do they use it to expand their military or worse still siphon off the money into their own pockets???
  17. Let me diffuse the situation... I think he was being inflammatory about why you're typing with the CAPS on...
  18. Quiet, reserved, shy to the point of being perceived as aloof unless I'm very comfortable with that person, tendency to be depressed & be a nervous wreck, laughs hysterically at ironic humour... Can't stand people who complain but won't do anything to improve their own situation , can be lonely but needs own space, exhibits most signs of bi-personality disorder ... Oh, and can't stand fluff coz it's just meaningless. As to the add-on question, yes, I do act differently towards different people across differing situations though I try not to vary too much coz most people need to see 'consistency' or they think you're not trustworthy. Often feel misunderstood/ that very few people understand me because of this...
  19. Nothing :P this is a secret politics thread :wink3: That's why there's a World of everything else section on this forum... So people like us can discuss our political slants oil we're paying for and iraqi's will use to rebuild their country and start a new free society....that oil? Nick, just to make a point... Yep, the oil is paid for by the US... But by the taxpayers i.e. common people/individuals. I think Kapone's point is that this money goes into the pockets of certain well-connected parties allied to the Bush government. I think ordinary Iraqis will not profit much from this sale of oil unless the country manages to form a united and cohesive goverment that is more interested in the people/country's interests than in squabling for power amongst themselves.
  20. What goes on in the minds of all 4 Coldplay members... As well as the leaders of the world.
  21. Well... I'm older :D ^ Is 4 years younger than me!
  22. ^ I felt the same way too... But now I've decided to let it go... There are some lovable bits to this over-produced sound. The "bigger picture" sounds better, try listening to the overall sound of everything together instead of straining to hear the individual lines like you did in the previous albums... The layers merge better :)
  23. For back-up, it's Will or Jonny are it coz their voices are quite different from Chris'... But their voices wouldn't suit the typical lead vocal parts, that's probably why it took Guy so long before he started singing back-up... they probably thought he sounded a bit redundant doubling Chris :P
