  1. Haha... the thing is, I only got OK Computer AFTER I bought X&Y. I was nicely settling down to it (OK Computer) and then all these things on X&Y started popping up... that baseline is unmistakeable  I love the similarities between these two albums- they're so different yet so alike :D
  2. Only one thing to add to this... Wow, we don't buy a lot of albums do we?
  3. Exactly :idea2:... Like Jonny has said, this album is full of dense songs, A Message being the one that gives space to breathe. That being said, A Message still can't compare to their previous songs listed ^, it really still is too heavy. Listening to X&Y tends to be exhausting whereas their previous songs/albums tended to be rrefreshing overall
  4. The Tesseract - Alex Garland
  5. Happy birthday :D
  6. I tend to group them with Britpop.. It's just convenient considering their from Britain and the quality of their songs puts them in that category. But Wikipedia/Answers.com call them "post-Britpop" And well, they won grammies under the best "Alternative Music Album" back in 2003 for the 2002 Grammy Awards. So Alternative music? along with Radiohead, Bjork & Sigur Ros?
  7. They're in the "New Photos" thread http://forum.coldplaying.com/viewtopic.php?t=10673&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 And this one's just for laughs "The 'ALL NEW' Coldplay Piccie Caption Thread..."(my personal favourite :D) http://forum.coldplaying.com/viewtopic.php?t=18691&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
  8. I think I pretty much did  23.06.1983 UK: Every Breath You Take - The Police US: Flashdance...What a Feeling - Irene Cara Whoa... I didn't know I was born at such a momentous time for pop music. No wonder music's my life :P
  9. Shiver "...drive a faster car..."
  10. I think it can happen... the only thing is it takes more than that for the love to last. Nothing can substitute hard work and commitment
  11. I love the part at the end when he sang "Everytime I close my eyes, lies.. lies..." during the MuchMusic exclusive. It made the song so much more poignant was that the one in australia? No, it was at the Toronto buzz gig. Yep, live at Much Music this year... The gig's posted on the "Coldplay Live In Canada Much Music Concert (video request)" thread. http://forum.coldplaying.com/viewtopic.php?t=19666&highlight=toronto+music Victaniac (super her) kindly recorded and posted it... http://www.savefile.com/projects/891037 It's in the 1st file if I'm not mistaken. The whole thing's quite good actually :D Politik in there was just amazing...
  12. I keep rehashing this but NOBODY seems to have got it... What's the point of shooting someone in the leg when he potentially can and will still blow himself up and kill many innocent civilians who happen to be standing near him??? You might as well tell the police to save their time and just 1)stop following suspected terrorists around 2)stop attempting to apprehend terrorists 3)stop trying to protect general public safety.
  13. I've only got Some Cities but I've read the reviews on Pitchfork (http://pitchforkmedia.com/cgi-bin/search2/search.cgi?terms=Doves) and The Last Broadcast has marginally better reviews than Some Cities (8.0 vs 7.8)... I know Pitchfork can be pretentious but it's got street cred. Maybe you should get TLB first, especially if you're thinking of going for the long haul with this band and grab the others later. I think they're another rare band that's not likely to make bad albums and these guys are still young with plenty more in them :D
  14. Alright... I thought maybe it had ;) Why so angry? I wasn't trying to be sarcastic... I really thought there was something you were trying to say which I didn't get. Sorry
  15. YES!!that's it, thank you,I was going crazy. Haha... I know. That was the first thing that struck me when I heard that song. But I rather think the similarity was unintended though coz I can't imagine them trying to imitate a Disney song
  16. ^9.5 For Jonny... wearing a joy division T-shirt! :D
  17. That's so funny :laugh3: Chris looks like the sixth n'sync member... singing "I'll never stop..."
  18. Vintage man... that's just classic  And Will sure looks as if he's gonna drive that fist into somebody... "It's clobbering time!" :D
  19. Aww... be nice. I thought what he did was cute (in a fuckin' hilarious way)
  20. Feeling permanently lost and not knowing where I'm going or where I belong
  21. Weird, for some reason I thought they had Apple before they got married...but then I looked it up and I'm wrong Edit: I realized why I had thought that before. Married: December 5th, 2003 Apple born: May 14, 2004 You do the math :stunned: I know. I don't need to do the math :P Just technically, Apple was born after they got married though she was conceived before
  22. Well, it must be that the world turned upside down... Coz today, I saw Ian originating a thread called FUUUCK... Oh my, Ian, what happened today?
