  1. Another thing that shocked me was ...how good A Sky Full Of Stars sounded...they really ironed the kinks out since the last time I've heard that live. Just damn... all good songs played.
  2. What's strange is...Yellow live.. is the worst part of the concert for me...always. I just don't care for that song ...I've worn myself out on it. It's the only Coldplay song that's done that. It's Coldplay's version of Radiohead's Creep ...to me, basically. But, I do think the way they played it tonight...is better than it's been. They went down on the tempo from the Mylo live concert. And it just sounded production-wise good. But awesome concert- and if Yellow is the worst song of a concert- you're doin good as a band!!!
  3. I think I'm about to get boo'd for this but I really think some elements of Up and Up are inspired by Taylor Swift. It has that country twang note...at times. Call me crazy, but...just sayin..
  4. Coldplay is so at the top of their game right now. Why were we worried?? I'm watching the 2nd time around..didn't get to see the original stream. But this is one of my fav live shows already. And I loved AHFOD... Amazing Day even sounded better. Awesome production on everything...lights are a bit too much but always the case since AROBTTH.. but other than that- awesome segways...added original takes ...just everything wow ..so far.
  5. Damnit I missed it!!! Is there anyway I can watch this? Let me know if a youtube video or something pulls up. :(
  6. how can I watch this without Tidal...is there going to be an alternate way?
  7. As someone that likes pop music, I'll live. Do I feel that ...circumstances in this timeline of events for Chris' parallel universe numero uno... has brought about the death of the Coldplay we once loved? Yes, It's different now. But.. if you love pop like me. Then it's just going to be the best pop ever.. and I will have to settle for that. Like 5 years ago or something..I was listening to that song ..Empire State of Mind ..pretty sure that it's Alicia Keys.. and I'm like.. really diggin the melody. After listening closer- I realized they took the melody from The Scientist. And that's when I first remembered thinking that one day Coldplay would take this route, musically. The fact they're such close friends with Jay-Z and I'm sure he has his influence on him. And even Gwenyth and that whole life... he, along with the bandmates, all became mainstream because their lives were becoming that. But there's another timeline out there where...Radiohead embraced Coldplay. And Thom and Chris were best friends... and Chris had Thom do backing vox instead.. and Philip Selway did percussion on a few tracks. And it was the most brilliant thing ever. I take a little solace knowing that Coldplay took a lot of sharp ..and widely curved turns with producers that were giving them crazy directions.. to get to this album we're all bracing for right now. But the good news is they haven't stopped changing yet..
  8. My thoughts exactly. It's like...Coldplay used to be a small rock band- but the mainstream opened up it's arms to them... and slowly over time-.... they became a huge pop act. I blame Chris' social life. Hanging out with Bey, gonna make you want to be in the same league as her. Just in the terms of...album sales, etc.. But even the sound part too.
  9. They're all insanely great musicians...but Chris is that 1 percenter. He could write songs in his sleep. The only problem to me is that...I feel he's made so many friends in the pop community- that's why he's making pop music. He feels like he fits in more with that world. And us that grew up listening to Coldplay ...this is sad. But ..I do have faith they'll return to rock. It'll probably be after their career dies down a bit...though that's not looking like it's happening soon.
  10. I think this show may've changed Coldplay's outlook a little bit too. It's probably been some time since they've played an intimate set. At least ..in such a public setting. I hear they play intimate shows for private parties, etc.. But Coldplay was built off the intimate/glowing nature of Chris and his subtle and raw beautiful melodies. It's a nice reminder.
  11. Through all this new talk about Coldplay not being what they were and how crappy Ghost Stories is- listen to that last song, O. That whole concert was beautiful but O really stood out for me. It's weird too because as comments were coming in about others having chills- I was like "me too!" Coldplay is as great as ever.. Their music really has magical properties in the face of tragedies.
  12. Well, I wonder if this TidalX concert is going to get cancelled. I didn't realize it was going to be Paris' version of 9/11 today. I know many people who've travelled to Paris and they've all come back feeling in love with that city. I know Chris and his girlfriend recently went. It's going to hurt knowing people have been bringing pain in that part of the world. I'm sure it's going to weigh heavy on Chris. And these happy songs may not be felt in their spirits tonight.
  13. When is it happening? And when can I watch this?
  14. In any country that has put itself in the place to be the world's police- atrocities will occur. But Obama didn't choose to be in the middle east conflict. The most that is Obama's fault is the drone program. Which was created to kill targets that are directly trying to ..or have harmed troops. Though, the real issue, to me, is they miss a lot. And that should've been a reason to shut the program down. To the military- missing your targets is never a real reason to stop war. But, does that make Obama evil? I don't know. Though, I get the feeling, more of the evil is in the American system- and not in this one person. And America's real evil is how much it fears the rest of the world. It has this bloated, overinvolved military. And it's just been that way for years. It's how things are done. But I feel Obama ..most of the decisions he's made has been based on a more honest place- than one of ill-intent. He's pushed for Healthcare as a human right for all Americans, and the ability for anyone who is in love to finally marry. He's cracked down on the over-populated prisons in America...and shutting the doors on one of the worst chapters in American History- the undeserved- overpriced Iraq War ..and the horrors done on our watch at Guantanamo Bay.
  15. Someone may really feel this sort of moral integrity ..to stand up and fight for a woman's struggle to own a part of her body. Yes, a baby is a part of a woman at first. And even scientifically, at first, a baby is physically much like a mass of cells. It's exactly that actually..in the same way your organs are, or even a tumor. And we never question that someone should have control over their organs. And much like a tumor or your organs, they can be harmful to the host or completely harmless. And on the opposite side of the colour spectrum, some may feel really strongly about...feeling the need to stand up for an unborn child...and that struggle. There's only perspectives. And no side will ever be right. There's only just ...what we feel.
  16. Looks like they're having fun to me. I guess they said..if anyone's going to be a YETI in their videos, it's going to be them. [video=youtube;VxQwtl_giK4]
  17. How many of these songs are correct vs songs ..conceived prior? That's what I got from the last bit.
  18. You know what's funny? I stay at my older brother's former pad now. And I've kept some of his artwork up- it's not even artwork I'm a fan of really...it's just ..I'm lazy. Anyway, the room I'm in now...is littered with paintings with the flower of life symbol. Not only ...is it not rare...it's HUGE in the hippie community. Yes, my brother is a hippie. So ...no. Your little band I've never heard of doesn't get to complain when the very room I'm in has about a thousand of those symbols. And I would just post pics of it..but that means I'd have to take it with my phone..then connect my phone to cpu..then find pics in the hdd of phone..then transfer...then upload online..then post. And let's face it- I didn't even take these paintings down ..because why? I'm lazy. But I suppose if someone decides to try and call me out, I will.

Everybody relax. Did you see the recent video of him doing boring lyrical songs off the top of his head on the radio? The guy could make a song called Dip Ding Fwat **** Doll an awesome fuckin song. He's got this, people.
  20. To me- Chris is singing the same way he would ..on any other song. I don't hear him trying to sound like someone else...which is what the naysayers, or NayPlayers are saying? :P
  21. I supposed it does sound like every other band that uses indian-influenced disco laden pop and funk..with Chris's vocal style...and anthemic choral bits... or we can just go ahead and say... it borrows a lot from all kinds of music- like a lot of already existing Coldplay songs. It's just not the styles you're fond of and it's shocking to you. We get it.
  22. Well, I said it before I played. I said .. "So not only is today your birthday. Today is a very special day I've been waiting quite some time for... Today is the day... Coldplay's new single dropped." Haha, and really the only reaction to either of them... was just how infectious and fun the song was. They didn't care would made the song. They were far from Coldplay fans. One was a hippie.. who listened to a bunch of bluegrass bands and ... pink floyd. The other...not too sure. But very likely not ...popular music like that. And to everyone saying... this is the end of Coldplay, oh meh gurd... save the drama fo yo momma.. This is probably going to be the only song on the album that sounds like this. Think of Amazing Day...sounds nothing like this. So Coldplay started playing around with some sounds...and found something that was really fun...and just ran with that. Oh no...such a tragedy.
  23. Instead of a normal review- I'll post an experience that happened tonight. I went out on a date to the movies with this girl. Only the 2nd time we went out and we had a pretty good time. We went back to her place then realized we were hungry. She had been putting back shots because it's her birthday. I was only drinking coffee and I was pretty wired. We asked her roommate who had just gotten home...from hanging out with her bf, if she wanted to come along and she did. So as I was driving - the roommate in the backseat asked me if I had heard this song ( don't remember the name of it playing...) I said "no, but let me ask you what you think of this.." Then I put on AOAL .. Well, I naturally started singing along... then both of them...naturally started dancing and grooving... we all started just....having a blast. Then as it got near the end.. I started holding a pretening mic- singing "whooo ohhh" ...then pointed the mic at them...and without skipping a beat.. they came in repeating with the 2nd "whooo ohhhh" ...and it was just...amazing!! So fun!!!! When Coldplay plays this song live... if they do that too... sing one of the "whoo ohhhs" and let the crowd sing the other...and do a back-and-forth... it's just going to be so interactive and amazing. So yes, I very much love this song. I don't really think it's any more poppy than ETIAW, and the lyrics are certainly better. And it just has this amazing energy. You can just tell Chris is having the time of his life. And .... uhh...I'm just. That's all. It's been a great night. And I leave you guys to it.
  24. I think this will be their most- critically acclaimed album...since AROBTTH. They're leaving the sadness ...and everything Coldplay is probably known for with this one. It had an almost 70's dance sound. And they used similar vox effects as Elle Goulding's Bittersweet.
  25. Well, normally I'd be asleep now. Now- I'm just practicing my british accent while speaking along with the radio host and repeating every thing him and that woman are saying. I sound crazy. But it's helping pass the time.
