  1. AH! I wish I could help. I've even looked at youtube videos for anyone tinkering around with GR 4 or 5 for these sounds. Nada. I have worked out a good U2 edge sound from the already pre-built one in GR 5 though. If i find a good Johnny one, I'll update this thread. I can tell you ..using Altiverb in conjunction with GR 5 will create nice atmospheres for your guitar. Gives it a great stadium sound.
  2. New song i've done. I've gotten a lot of comments about it being Sigur Ros-ish Thought i'd share oh, and there's actually a picture of me on the page i never, never post pics of myself. http://kingdomofback.bandcamp.com/track/future-of-the-uncertain hope you enjoy
  3. First song i've done in 4 months or so.. Thought i'd share Hope you guys like http://kingdomofback.bandcamp.com/track/heart-of-the-great-attractor
  4. One of the things i talk about to other musicians before making music with them is the power of simplicity. I love many, many bands and for many different reasons. The main reason i love Coldplay is their ability to be stupidly and un-apologetically simple. More so the older Coldplay but still... I tend to point towards the chorus of 'Clocks' The lyrics being "You are..." Bands get lost in complexity. Empires fall and relationships crumble because of it. But, keep it simple and people know you're being honest. And honesty will get you far.
  5. William7, you ok? were you there when it happened?
  6. A simple little 3 minute piano song. i do have a new epiphone guitar which i used in the song that im happy to have. other than that..nothing too fancy. There are vocals..though not many. Rather spacious vocals, i guess. hope you guys enjoy http://kingdomofback.bandcamp.com/track/raspad
  7. Thank you for the feedback. i would've said that long ago but haven't had internet for awhile. Struggling here in Atlanta. I have a new song up. It's definitely ...different. i got the Native Instrument's Session Strings so i've put it to use with violins and cellos and what not. I talk a bit about my song process on the page as well. here it is if anyone wishes to hear it. http://kingdomofback.bandcamp.com/track/glissando-machinate
  8. a lot of piano, sorta soulful i stepped out of my comfort zone a bit with this. i only post in here if i think a coldplay fan would enjoy the kind of song ive done and i think this qualifies for that. hope you enjoy http://kingdomofback.bandcamp.com/track/i-still-matter
  9. after a week and not a single comment :( feel free to speak up, give some feedback, and let me know your thoughts
  10. I remember posting that remix here about a month ago and saying it was the best thing i've ever done remix-wise. Now i get to say it again but this time it's the best thing i've done with an original song. I guess i'm on a creative high right now. i'm just so proud of it right now..it's sickening. i think a lot of 'Achtung Baby' influence got in there with the lead guitar and notice the intro drums and their similarity to 'Acrobat' off that album as well. anyway, here you go i hope you enjoy. i know all art is a matter of taste. this really hit the nail on the head for me and i hope it does the same to your ears as well. http://kingdomofback.bandcamp.com/track/saving-you-saving-me
  11. thanks, guys sorry for the late reply. techni, sure you can. the beat is from this song: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gh2atRW2Qg]Nine Inch Nails-Zero Sum Year Zero - YouTube[/ame] and if you wanted..you can download remix stems online for it for free. that'll have the drums on a separate file for you.
  12. I came up with a great idea and made a youtube video. It's hilarious and only 27 seconds. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-4Y7uYNhgM&list=UUFcGwOsO4xwv81NHllWANnw&feature=plcp]Do Not Mix Rocky and Tornado Chasing - YouTube[/ame]
  13. yes, you can download it from the bandcamp site for free. i've never charged a cent for any music i've ever made nor will i ever. and in case you meant...can i upload it anywhere? yes, please. share it. nothing would make me happier. thanks for listening, guys. really just glad you enjoyed it.
  14. this is my 'reckoner' remix. i completely forgot about this. http://www.radioheadremix.com/remix/?id=19
  15. yeah, it's really good. i do think maybe use a different medium if you do it again. it's not more depressing but the acrylic colors just aren't bright enough. i would imagine spray paint will make the colors brighter.
  16. This is a remix. As the title suggests...it's darker than the original. don't worry...i didn't turn it into a metal song. I think this is one of the best things i've ever done remix wise and i've done quite a few remixes. hope you enjoy <iframe width="400" height="100" style="position: relative; display: block; width: 400px; height: 100px;" src="http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer/v=2/track=3191109890/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=4285BB/" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0"><a href="http://kingdomofback.bandcamp.com/track/the-scientist-dark">The Scientist (Dark) by Kingdom of Back</a></iframe> http://kingdomofback.bandcamp.com/track/the-scientist-dark p.s- extra points to anyone who can figure out where the drums come from.

i'm all about guitar rig. i've used amplitube but i think GR is much better. either that or better presets which maybe that's my fault for not tinkering enough with amplitube.
  18. thank you for linking that. right after i posted that i went on the search... and 10 mins ago i found wav. files of the same stems woot! i'll def be making a remix...as long as this are halfway decent stems.
  19. oh, please tell me how i can get the scientist stems.. pretty please? loved this version of fix you.
  20. well, i would like to do vocals. and it's usually easiest to find instrumentals around here so hopefully if we can get someone to upload something they've worked on but is incomplete and maybe go from there. i have no piano/keyboards because i've sold them...going through a bit of a rough patch so i would love to start with something of that nature since i miss it.
  21. just so you realize...there's 12 notes in all of music and Coldplay typically only incorporates a few in each melody coincidences are easy occurrences in music. event the viva la vida ordeal...after the lawsuit other bands came forth and said they're songs sounded really similar to it as well...it's because it was a simple melody that's easy to come up with.
  22. I'd like to do this but with an original song. unless the cover just really hits home with me. and since everyone uses different DAWs...i'd like to use WAV files
  23. This is my 'Reckoner' remix. http://radioheadremix.com/remix/?id=19 and here's my original music which is very Radioheadish. http://kingdomofback.bandcamp.com/ sorry for the whoring
  24. awesome. if you're interested...send me the separate guitar and keyboard files and we'll add some vocals and drums
