  1. Here's my random thoughts on the new album. I think Coldplay usually has a movie soundtrack song or a sorta.. side song, such as 'Christmas Lights' - that would come out a bit before a new album would be released. Those songs always hint to the new sound. Like...after hearing Atlas- I knew Coldplay was gonna try more serious..down tempo songs on their next CD- which they did. And before that- it was 'Christmas Lights' and ...it's even hard to pinpoint how to describe that sound- but sure enough- the new album sounded like that. And after 'Miracles' - I'm expecting that pop-clean sound. Which...I don't like the sound of 'pop' and 'clean' ...in a vague term kinda way. But Miracles, to me, is a damn good song. I love it. So...my body is ready. Although, Amazing Day wasn't amazing to me. But it sounded similar to ...Always In My Head, and I didn't care for the live version of that either. Those slower tempo songs...with thump- need to be felt. And when I watch a youtube video of a live version of that kind of song....not gonna sound good.
  2. Right- I remember first seeing the article with Chris saying "This is like the final stage of ..something. I don't want to say it's the last album, but it's the last of what we're doing, etc.." Next thing I know - I go on Facebook, Twitter, Google News- 2 hours later- 'Coldplay is making Final Album' Headlines everywhere!!!!! The News Fear Machine!!! Keep them all afraid and consuming!!!!
  3. I think the difference is- if you have Ad Block Plus installed on Chrome, it won't show.
  4. Agreed. Most of the reasons I fell, and most people probably, fell in love with Coldplay is because their first two albums just ...dreadfully...devastatingly simple. But that's the beautiful thing. And I remember an old interview with Guy or Johnny and they say that ...the thing about Coldplay is ..not what we play, but what we DON'T play. And I totally get that. Unfortunately, they've kinda gotten out of that zone...starting with X&Y and more so with every album after. Though, I'm one of the few that think GS was a return to their simplicity and form. The only difference is...the simplicity of GS isn't as finely tuned as Parachutes or AROBTTH. For instance- let's take a look at Politik, Warning Signs, In My Place or any song off of AROBTTH- All are pretty simple songs as far as structure- but what do they all have in common? Their build up- each song has a story, really. Politik's last chorus is built up by the tension of the hauntingly beautiful bridge- then with the layered vox on top- it's just simple melodic structure but cleverly put together. GS is missing a lot of that. For instance- Always in My Head- there's no build up. Most of the changes in that song- are subtle background production tricks. Things you wouldn't notice in concert. Magic- (love this song) but no real build up either- if it wasn't for the fact that the honesty and sorrowfulness in Chris' "I do ..yes, I do" towards the end- probably a very stale track. Even True Love- nice little build up with that guitar solo- but it just repeats that last chorus. Nothing new going in there. No extra backing vocals, etc.. The only song that really builds is ASFOS- and I do like that song too. I wish it would've been produced less like a dance track because again- the Coldplay I knew- didn't need to 'hippest production' techniques in there songs. It was about WHAT THEY DIDN'T PLAY. Hear my cover of Famous Old Painters here- https://belo.bandcamp.com/track/familiar-new-places
  5. What is this 'True Believer' you're referring to? Is that a song?
  6. Awesome work. I wish I could play piano like that.
  7. Hey now, Another's Arms has been and will always be my favorite song off of GS. I love the natural build up of the last chorus. I only wish Chris would've yelled at the end- like a majestic scream.
  8. I thought the same thing about Mylo Xyloto. I've noticed that about Coldplay. My favorite artwork- set design, etc.. will probably always be AROBTTH era. It had that 'Apple' quality of design. Simplicity. And as far as their music- this past album is my favorite in some time, because it is a lot simpler. But overall- they just don't do very simple songs anymore, and if they do- they drown it in production. I think a lot of this has to do with just...the amount of pressure they're under from studio heads- to ...well everyone. And the problem is they listen to them all too much. They're too nice! Haha. I always said- if Coldplay would've never had that level of success on their first couple of albums...they'd probably be making much better music. Because I really do think they impress more when there's less expectations.
  9. I don't understand why they played the festival without playing any new songs. Just seems weird - they even ended the set with the same song from last year. I thought it was a good show- but the sound guys messed up big time in Viva La Vida. Chris was not pleased- he kept looking to the back of the stage.
  10. New song. It’s a song written by Coldplay, Famous Old Painters, that was scrapped in the album that would become Viva La Vida And Death And All His Friends. I put vocals to it..which I don’t think vox had ever been put on it. Does anyone know if vocals had ever been put on it? There's like close to 15 or so vocal tracks on it. I've been messing around with texture ideas in my mixes. I changed the title to Familiar New Places. It just fit the vocals that came out of me. And close to Famous Old Painters Anyway, check it out. Hope you like it. https://belo.bandcamp.com/track/familiar-new-places
  11. My new song from my music project, Lo. It's more Radiohead influenced than Coldplay, and even then..a lot of other influences, but still some of you might like it. Hope you enjoy. And as always, feedback is much appreciated. https://belo.bandcamp.com/track/unimaginable-proximity
  12. Thanks!
  13. So I wrote a new song. It's called 'To Continue' and I hope you like it. In the bridge- there's a nod to 'Ink', I'm sure any Coldplay fan would probably notice. But otherwise- it's not much like Coldplay- other than the ending- it's got the build up that most Coldplay songs have. Which that's what I love about song-making- is having songs that move and transform to an ending different than how it started. Anyway, here it it- and if it's like any other song I've posted- no one will probably comment but comments are very appreciated. :)
  14. Well, it's been quite some time since I've posted in here. I recorded a new song. First one in over a year, actually. I've posted a few songs with quite the positive feedback on here before...so I thought I'd try again and see if my sound is still appreciated. Song can be heard here: https://belo.bandcamp.com/ Anyway, the song's called Transmission in Space. It's about trying to connect with someone when all other avenues of communication have already failed. It's about that feeling you get when you're dying to express how you feel to someone but there's no way you can. So you go into a state of mind where you try channeling your emotions to them internally. Wherever you are, my love, I will split the seas and I will bring you back to me. Lana, this one's for you. Aren't they all, though? Daniel :)
  15. I know what apple is singing at the end of this. Which maybe others do too...I just remember people saying it was background vocals to Always In My Head. Which seemed correct at first too...considering the end ...slides right into the beginning of that song. But it's Apple singing the hook to Midnight. "Leave a light, a light on" Anyways, It had been bothering me so much...I finally figured it out! In other news, the song is soul crushing and usually brings a 50 percent chance of showers....from my eyes ..everytime I listen.
  16. It appears as thought the Target release torrent is up. I'm just trying to download the last three songs. Download's going slow...especially for an album. Every squirrel's trying to get the same nut here. :)
  17. I don't think I could ever imagine Chris Martin being unattractive enough to where women would turn him down like that. Touche, self. I see your point.
  18. A couple of things- How can so many people rank Always In My Head so near or at the top of their list? It's ok but moves at such a bland mid-tempo pace. That song compared to just the other songs released from Ghost Stories seems pretty lacking to me. I don't know. And how have so many people ranked O as being on their top? Where are you guys hearing O?
  19. It's not so much that it's catchy or anything, but like most good Coldplay songs, it's the soundtrack to my love life. When I'm thinking about that girl I like....I hear A Sky Full Of Stars now.
  20. It's a strangely addictive song for me. I've listened to it 30 times now. I don't like EDM. But the melody is just awesome and chris's vocals really shine. I think this would be one of my fav Coldplay songs if they took out the EDM drums and put in Politik style drums.
  21. I'd much rather have 9 quality tracks than 17 so-so tracks. I can't believe you care about a song being named after the album. Just edit the title to one of the songs and make yourself happy. You've listened to live tracks of those two songs, if I heard Clocks for the first time in it's live version...I probably wouldn't have cared for it. Actually, it took me listening to Politik before I fell in love with AROBTTH.
  22. I think they've tried sorta an open relationship for the past few years. They're probably still in love with each other. As much as anyone who's been together for as long as they have been. But breaking up as a celebrity is different. There's less self-esteem issues, mainly. Both are beautiful, talented, well taken care of people who get much love from many people. I think they probably will continue to act as a family unit but they're going to have their cake and eat it too.
  23. How can I change my avatar? I hit customize profile but it's all color hue options. Me sad sad

I think once the studio version comes out, everyone's gonna like this a lot more. The live version fails in that the vocals are mixed so low. If there's a lot of effort from the producer's which I'm sure there will be as well. I'm sure the the reverb will give Martin's voice so much presence in the track. Which that's what's lacking and making his voice sound weak here...or lazy ..as someone put it. As far the live version we're hearing, it was a failure of the sound techs. Or in how they recorded/streamed it, possibly. Anyway, I would hope they would have it mixed much louder in the studio version. I can tell I start liking the song much more towards the end..when the vocals start getting louder...then the song just sorta..popped. :)
