The lyrics are meh but just earlier I was listening to Magic while walking to some place and it is sunny today and the "no I don't no I don't no I don't" part felt better than in the first listens? Definitely growing on me, then! I do agree that, alone, the lyrics are definitely of a low level compared to what Chris Martin can do. However they are more enjoyable the more I listen to the song, it seems? Tbh the lyrics to Midnight are, I think, amazing, so I still have hopes for great lyrics in GS (omg we can say GS now :awesome: )

I think that at the moment I prefer Midnight. I got really attached to that song, and I don't necessarily have that personal connection with Magic atm. Regarding Magic itself, the lyrics are honestly, to me, quite average compared to what Chris can do. He does sound lovely and adorable though. I much prefer the music. Relaxing and positive, I really enjoy it, and OMG that part around 3.25 i think? :dazzled: It kinda reminds me of Lukas :dazzled: Exactly what I've been dying to hear from them in a while :dazzled: I don't think it's much of hit material though. Coldplay do better commercially with anthems, so I really wonder how well it's going to do on the charts and if there will be an actual anthem this time on LP6..well..on GS :D I really really like the song overall and I'm pretty sure it's about to seriously grow on me!

The initial reaction may have been quite a shock, but I think the track's definitely growing on a lot of people :nod: And I don't think it backfired on them at all. They knew it would surprise everybody, not because of the "surprise" release, but because of the sound.

I LOVE the track!! Beautiful and relaxing. I'm usually not much into that sound, but they made it in a way that I actually enjoy. Like, it's not *too* calm for me for instance. Anyway, it's so beautiful. The lyrics are also great, very good job from Chris here. I'm among the ones who think it will be on LP6, most likely as the intro track. I feel they really sent a message with that one, that they're back and we should not forget they always reinvent themselves. This song is sooooo different from anything they've ever done! Really cool. Thanks Jon Hopkins for starting on that track in 2003 and for working with Coldplay again. ;) Jon Hopkins and Coldplay together always give something beautiful and different (from what Coldplay usually does). :wacky:

^ They probably all liked the look of it :thinking: I mean, while we know Chris seems to be the one with the craziest ideas, and the frontman, he doesn't actually decide all by himself. All of them must have liked the look of it all. In any case, I agree, the theme will definitely be different. It's interesting though that, in a way, for their last 2 albums they chose 2..um..styles of painting? I mean, while they won't go for graffiti again, I might see them going for a third style of...visual..art, in a way, for the aesthetic of the LP6 era? It'll probably be something completely different and unrelated though :lol: It's just a theory that goes with the whole "trilogy" idea.

:lol: Yeah but seriously, they mention several rumours and then say "the one that...": they could totally have gone to one place, read lots of different opinions from members, and the "mixture of old and new coldplay sound" sounds like anything I or any other member could have said :lol: I do feel flattered, but I'm glad that some record label people finally start talking, so the media can stop stalking us :laugh3:
