New York show winners are ....
It's most certainly the arena. Maybe not as intimate, but still going to be amazing!

if death will ever conquer me
No way it's a cover. I just searched the lyrics on Google and there's no matches. At least as far as I can tell. Song is WAY too short though!

16-Jun-08: London - Brixton Academy
Come on, let's be honest, 73 minutes onstage for the best band in the world? That hardly cuts it. U2 and Radiohead both play well upwards of 2 hours. Coldplay has 4 albums now, plus a massive catalog of awesome B-sides and cover ideas they could do if they wanted. Anything like 16 songs and 90 minutes is a disappointment. No one can complain now because these are free shows, but if they do this for the actual tour itself, I can foresee problems. When you start charging upwards of $100 a ticket, you better play like the big boys. All this coming from a diehard Coldplay fan. Don't mean to slag off on the band too much, but it's just an honest opinion.

Absolutely excellent. I only hope someone was good enough to grab a recording!

ANOTHER DOUBLE POST Is Coldplaying running especially slow today? God.

16 songs in an hour and 13 minutes? I'm sorry, but I'm really hoping NYC+the rest of their tour is a BIT longer than that. That better have been simply because they were airing it on Radio 1. Still a class show, though!

An odd place to stick Square One, don't you think?

"Even when we're not trying, we plagiarize Radiohead!" And the sad thing is, I knew he was referring to 2+2=5. Sounded exactly like it for a second there.

And by playing Viva La Vida now, they cleared the way for an Everything's Not Lost/Life Is for Living closer! Or I can at least hope, right??

"Please respect the bell technique of our drummer." :laugh4:

^That's the Wembley practice show setlist. Already deviating by putting In My Place as the 4th song (and it's sounding brilliant!), but it might give us an idea of what's to come. Really hope they extend it past 16 songs, though!

What's with Chris doing the stuttering? "Buh-buh-buh-bury me in armor" and then "Sh-sh-sh-shoot an apple off my head" Is this his new thing? :laugh4:

New York show winners are ....
Just got mine! Section 210, row A. I was a little disappointed when I looked at them, then checked the MSG seating chart and found out that they're DIRECTLY NEXT TO THE STAGE and row A means having no one in front of me. Meaning these are officially my best seats ever to a Coldplay concert! And considering I would have had to pay nearly (if not over) $100 if this wasn't a free concert, I can't really complain. Roll on next week!

*double post* Sorry!

New York show winners are ....
I've flagged every post selling tickets as "prohibited" just for the sake of things. I recommend all to do the same! I mean, let's be honest, there's people selling pairs on there for $500, $600, even $1000!!! Hardly "real fans" getting the tickets...

New York show winners are ....
Well, according to every e-mail we've gotten about tickets, "THEY WILL BE CAUGHT." I find that really hard to believe, but I guess we'll see. Certainly not looking too good so far.

Pitchfork review of VLVODAAHF
I've been waiting for this review. Can't believe they actually cracked a 6! I was thinking a 5 at best. Oddly enough, it seems that review is pretty positive. Minus faulting Chris (as they've always done) and calling him a "hopeless sap," they actually seem to somewhat like the record. They even call Strawberry Swing "spectacular!" Let's be honest, Pitchfork has never labeled anything by Coldplay "spectacular" before. So that has to be something of a start!

And to let everyone know, I know someone that got section 7 on the floor. Didn't ask him about the row, though, sorry! I'm still waiting for mine. Mail usually comes at 2 around here! Why did yesterday have to be Sunday?? :laugh4:

only gripe i have with the current live performances (really VLV)
I think that's actually Will singing backing vocals for Chris during the chorus of VLV, rather than a backing track...

Simon Pegg Penned Song With Chris Martin
Don't get my hopes up! My favorite rock star and favorite movie star on the same stage? I couldn't handle it. Although I really do hope this song sees the light of day at some point. I'm feeling that this might be the second single from The Nappies! Or would this be too much of a dream?? :laugh4:

What row are you in?? My tickets didn't come yesterday, so I'm forced to endure an agonizing wait until tomorrow afternoon. All the tickets I've heard about so far are in roughly the same area. Two people on the official Coldplay forums had seats in Section 101 and Section 133. I'd be really pleased with 101. I mean, those tickets would be costing close to $100 each if I bought them, right? Anything in the lower level is an amazing deal!

Circuit City Free Coldplay T-shirt Offer
Maybe Brian Eno actually does say something at the beginning of Strawberry Swing. :laugh4:
