Perez on Coldplay...again.
http://perezhilton.com/2008-06-13-selling-like-hotcakes Perez Hilton might write some funny columns now and then, but one thing is for sure--his music taste sucks. Anyone who promotes people like Robyn over Coldplay has some serious problems! Coldplay's actually been getting a lot of defense in the comments section--obviously for good reason. Glad to see the fans are responding.

Coldplay will be on The Tonight Show...
I just got tickets to see Conan on July 9th...maybe they'll decide to play there that day! :laugh4:

New York show winners are ....
For those without shipping confirmations: I just called and they do have a tracking number for my order. Apparently, they sent out all of the tickets today, but they sent out half of the e-mails last night and they'll be sending out the other half of the e-mails tonight. So I was assured that I (and everyone else with no e-mail yet) will be getting a shipping confirmation around 2 or 3 AM, as for some reason, they send them out in the middle of the night. Now I can breathe a sigh of relief, as all is well in the world!

18-June-2008: BBC Gig - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
Agreed. Too bad France can't capitalize on anything!

New York show winners are ....
E-mailed them about an hour ago. No response yet. If it starts to get toward 4:30 and there's still nothing from them, I'm going to call. Can't believe I'm freaking out about this so much. :laugh4: I just have these horrible visions of tickets lost in the mail...

Hmm, should I be worried if I didn't get a shipping confirmation then? I have the order confirmation from 3 days ago, but no tracking numbers from the USPS today yet... Maybe I should give them a call.

Did you get a shipping confirmation today?? Ahh, still not one here. YET anyway.

General Chat: non-specific concert queries
Completely agree with everything said right there.

General Chat: non-specific concert queries
I'll honestly be really disappointed if it's only 90 minutes. That was too short for the Twisted Logic Tour. With another album's worth of material, if it's anything less than 2 hours, it's too short. There's really no excuse for anything less. I don't mean to sound bitter, but with the current state of ticket prices, etc...you have to expect some baseline. And when Springsteen and U2 can play well over 2 and a half hours, Coldplay needs to do the same.

The Free 6/23/08 MSG SHOW
Doors at 7, show starts at 8. All there in the confirmation e-mail! ;)

23-Jun-08: New York - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
This is my next problem exactly! Would they give the contest winners the entire floor? Or maybe the first 4 rows across the entire lower level? I can't imagine they'd stick the "real fans" in the upper deck, but that's how things go today. I honestly don't really care as long as we're all in the building!

I'm trying to figure this one out myself. Perhaps they're just some really fancy tickets? Or backstage passes...you know, for 7,000 people? Although I do like the CD idea, too...

25-Jul-08: Philadelphia - Wachovia Center - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
Just wanted to throw out that if anyone can't make it to the rescheduled Philly show and would like their tickets to go to a real fan (who you hopefully won't rip off), please PM me! A friend of mine was supposed to come through with tickets for me, but unfortunately, that ended up falling through, so I didn't buy tickets when they went on sale. Stupid idea on my part, honestly. So please let me know! It'd be very much appreciated. ;)

VLVODAAHF Lyrics
"where Victorian ghosts pray" now sounds so painfully obvious in Cemeteries of London!! How did we not figure that out before? But seriously, "My nerves like poles unfroze" cannot be right. Chris writes some bad lyrics sometimes...but they can't be THAT bad. Can they? :laugh4:

The Official Opinions about the new album thread
This sounds surprisingly like a Pitchfork review. Does anyone know when THAT one is coming out? I've been waiting for it. My Pitchfork prediction is probably like a 4.1 at best. Probably somewhere in the 2s or 3s I'd imagine, unless they surprise me.

XFM X-Posure Album Playback
"I think over 12 people tried to download it--and it crashed the server." --Chris, on Violet Hill One of the funniest things I've heard!
-
XFM X-Posure Album Playback
It's 3 of them...although I'm not sure which three. He just said, "We have three quarters of Coldplay in to talk about their new album."

New York show winners are ....
Good to know! Thanks a lot for doing that! Did you happen to ask if we find out our seats in the order confirmations? Jeez, I don't know if I can wait until possibly next Monday.

New York show winners are ....
I'm with you! I just checked my e-mail...no confirmations in there. And as long as no one else has gotten them, I know I'm safe. I just have awful thoughts of typing in the wrong address or something... I wish they'd get these out though! Now I need to know where I'm seated. It would be amazing if all the contest winners got floor seats/really good ones at least? Doubtful. That's probably where Kanye will be sitting... :laugh4:

Best of Coldplay Playlist
I just made a Coldplay mix CD for my friend. I wouldn't necessarily call it a "best of," but it's a bunch of my favorite Coldplay tracks from all throughout their career. And it's meant to show you the best Coldplay tracks BEYOND the ones people already know. 1. Politik 2. Shiver 3. I Ran Away 4. Here Comes the Sun (Cover) 5. The Scientist 6. Sparks 7. Yellow 8. Gravity 9. Clocks 10. Lovers in Japan / Reign of Love 11. 42 12. Swallowed in the Sea 13. Fix You 14. Death and All His Friends 15. Life Is for Living (Live 2003)

16-Dec-08 - London, O2 Arena - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
I flew all the way over from the States to see Keane at the O2 last June. Wish I could do the same for Coldplay this year! It's an awesome venue. One tip I have--get there early and find a good restaurant to have something to eat. If you're in the right spot, you can hear the soundcheck going on inside the arena itself. That was a real treat.

Nothing here! I had the same question, but someone pointed out that they changed it on the website to "on or around June 9th." So I'm assuming the confirmations will be heading out tomorrow.

Coldplay live At Paradiso videos Up On Youtube (Chris voice seems a bit shakey still)
I thought Chris sounded really good on Lovers in Japan, minus that one really awful crack in his voice. But that's the most endearing part about Coldplay live, right? I've always thought so anyway...
