What are some favorite/classic songs of the 90s?
These immediately pop into my head: Bitter Sweet Symphony--The Verve Common People--Pulp One--U2 Buddy Holly--Weezer Heck, even some Spice Girls should be in there. I still love some Wannabe every now and then... :laugh4:

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
I just chastised the Oracle for picking really easy questions. Let's see if he responds.

The official **KEANE** thread
In that posted interview, Tim called Spiralling a cross between Prince's "When Doves Cry," Labyrinth-era Bowie, and Keane. I'm totally intrigued, somewhat scared, and really excited by the prospect of legitimately dance-able Keane! Oh, and a new update to their website...the daily updates have been erased, replaced by this: I think new stuff is coming!

30-Jul-08: Toronto - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos [originally 29/30 Oct]
Wow, absolutely killer setlist. Glad to see they're switching things up little by little. Would have loved some Green Eyes in there, but Don't Panic is even better. Although, I'm hoping they go back to Life is for Living at SOME point on this tour. I'll hold out hope forever!

Dave Matthews Band...
Around here, they're very OVERrated. But personally, I can't stand 11 minute jam sessions that go nowhere and nasally annoying voices, so...no DMB for me. :laugh4:

Wow, they stuck Fix You in there even earlier than usual, huh? Interesting...

Grammy predix
Record actually means song in this case. The Grammys are confusing. "Record of the Year" is like best song, overall. Then "Song of the Year" is a songwriting award--which Coldplay won for Clocks, I believe. And then there's "Album of the Year" for best album. Hopefully they'll get one!

21-Dec-08: O2 Arena, Dublin - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
Likewise! I'm looking for any news anyone has as well (or maybe 2 unwanted tickets! :laugh4: ). Ticketmaster.ie currently lists both concerts as "currently not on sale" as well. What's going on there? :huh2:

VLV VIDEO COMING SOON!
I'm really starting to think this is part of a surprise launch of the new Lovers in Japan single/video. That page from the tour book is too enticing, and honestly, I think the ship has sailed on a VLV video. If they wanted it, it should have been out about two months ago. It's already faded from #1, so what's the point? My two cents, anyway!

You forgot to mention how he also wants to shoot his own daughter off his head! I mean, you think child protective services would have caught onto that about now... :laugh4:

Post live performances of songs you find beautiful
Yep, there's the DVD, it's called simply "Keane Live." And I actually found one on Youtube from it, should have posted this one in the first place: http://youtube.com/watch?v=XD0POGSb8_g

Post live performances of songs you find beautiful
As I said in the Keane thread, Bedshaped live is nothing short of a religious experience: Oh, and U2 is obviously incredible live, especially when they're at their most emotional:

Really interesting...and long! :laugh4: Thanks a lot for that.

The official **KEANE** thread
That was an unbelievable show! I was there and luckily I have the DVD to relive it over and over again. That show, more than any of their others, really shows Bedshaped live for what it is--something quite near a religious experience!

Only a week away?? Hope I'm not getting excited for nothing!

Does anyone else get like this ??
Well, we did have the Today Show VIP contest exclusively for here. And I think all 25 people that won were most definitely actual fans and deserving of tickets!
-
21-Dec-08: O2 Arena, Dublin - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
:laugh4: Well, at least you know I deserve those VIP passes now, right, Ian? We did the same thing last year for the Keane show at the O2 in London. Found tickets three weeks before, and there I was! So if anyone finds out any ticket news on this show, let me know! Still 5 months away, so I think I can get lucky...

21-Dec-08: O2 Arena, Dublin - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
Anyone else find it odd that you can't even pull up single tickets for the Dublin shows? Either it's really sold out, or they've barely released anything. Hopefully it's the latter, as I've decided to make a trip to Dublin almost strictly for this concert if more tickets open up!

The official **KEANE** thread
Hopefully they'll be making their way to the States soon, too! I've had the full spectrum of Keane gigs...saw them front row at this little intimate show in Chicago and then I've seen them from the upper level of the O2 in London. Can't wait for this new album. Did you hear Tom's new update on keanemusic.com? The one where they ask how well things are going for Keane right now. He says, "A lot of very big bands releasing albums at the moment, and I don't think they're gonna touch what we've made." He's really putting himself out there--but it really made me exciting to hear it. All the buzz about this "Perfect Symmetry" song has got me really thrilled.

Where would coldplay be after 10 years?
Yep, and Charlize walked right by me at the media entrance of MSG after the show. Didn't get to see the band, which was disappointing, but she certainly made up for it.

My question was, "You guys gave us 42, but we knew that already. Now what's the Ultimate Question?"
-
The Goldrush Lyrics
I will admit defeat in this case then. :laugh4: Although, I just remember at one of the early shows that someone put "The Goldrush" on the setlist instead of saying "Death Will Never Conquer." But I'm quite happy this is a completely different song--more new Coldplay!

17-Jul-08 - KROQ show at Jessica's house
My Lord... ...that's about all I can say.

Coldplay's best lyric and what it means to you
Excellent one right there! First one that came to my mind, actually. Also: "But life is for living, we all know, And I don't wanna live it alone." --Life is for Living and "People moving all the time Inside a perfectly straight line Don't you wanna just curve away? When it's such, it's such a perfect day It's such a perfect day" --Strawberry Swing

The R.E.M. Thread
I've been checking out bits of their new album and their classic stuff as well, and I'm liking it, but not totally convinced. Can an R.E.M. fan give me a good jumping in point (i.e. specific albums/songs) to listen to in order to help me get into the band?? I'm thinking I'd enjoy them if I knew in which direction to head in their prodigious catalog!
