TODAY SHOW (27th JUNE) COLDPLAYING EXCLUSIVE OVER - VIP PASS WINNERS ANNOUNCED
When does Ian announce these winners?? I just got back from NYC at 4 this morning after an awesome day in the city after the show...and now my friends and I are heading back at 6 PM tonight! Winners announced right after the contest ends at 3:30, I hope? Otherwise I'm not sure what I'm going to do! I've been going crazy thinking about this contest for the past two days. And I'm glad to see someone else had the sign idea if we get lucky enough. I was considering that as well myself!!

New York show winners are ....
Here's an absolutely perfect performance of Yellow from the BBC show a few days ago to get us all psyched up! http://youtube.com/watch?v=1df40FbxAVQ

I can't believe it's less than 24 hours away!! More than that, I can't believe we got our notifications less than 20 days ago. Seems like a lifetime that I've been waiting for this...

Coldplay Gets first UK #1 Single! (updated!)
It hasn't been officially announced yet, since it hasn't even been out for a week here yet. Tomorrow will mark the end of its first week. However, for all intents and purposes, VLVODAAHF is most certainly going to be the #1 album in the US. No doubts about it. I think the last estimate I heard is 700,000 copies this week which is phenomenal!! Shame it comes after Lil' Wayne's million-plus week, but still an achievement nonetheless. Congrats to the guys on their #1 UK single, too! Can't believe I'll be seeing them tomorrow when they'll literally be the biggest band in the world at the moment.

New Coldplay ARTWORK
These are all amazing! Thanks a lot!

23-Jun-08: New York - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
So does anyone else think that MSG might be the first actual runthrough for the arena tour itself, considering it's going to be the first proper arena they play? Meaning that hopefully it would be a bit of a longer setlist, etc? I mean, let's be honest, I hope they don't pay 4 million dollars to rent out MSG for a free concert and then only play for 90 minutes! And also...maybe it'll be the first appearance of the magic balls???

Coldplay will be on David Letterman (06/30) and Jay Leno (07/17) 2008
I'm still praying for Coldplay on Conan July 9th. Mainly because I have tickets to see Conan that day... :laugh4:

Track Skipping.
Used to skip Yes a lot, but I'm really starting to warm up to it now. I never really was that into it, though it's gradually coming around for me. Am I one of the only people who has loved Reign of Love from the beginning? Such a breath of fresh air in the album! Absolutely love the piano in it.

So, would you want Chris Martin to be a guest on The O'Reilly Factor?
I assure you, if you hate Bill O'Reilly, it'll give you a good laugh. Trust me, one of the funniest things I have ever had the pleasure of watching.

Viva La Vida hits number one: Your Reactions?
And the last #1 in the US by an actual British ROCK BAND (though I'll admit--the Spice Girls might rock sometimes?) was in October 1988 with Love Bites by Def Leppard. Go figure!

New York show winners are ....
Thought the same thing! Although apparently then, they'd have to give 7,000 people the chance to meet Coldplay. I think we might get SOMETHING from it though? To discern us as the "fan winners?" Though really I have no idea and that's pure speculation because I'm always looking for free stuff. HENCE the reason I got the tickets! :laugh4:

Coldplay in Guitar Hero 3 Tomorrow
I really want it, but I only have GH2 and I'm kind of wary of shelling out 60 more bucks for GH3 and then 6 more bucks for the Coldplay tracks... Then again, GH3 DOES have Knights of Cydonia, too. Hmm...decisions, decisions.

US Hot 100 - Viva La Vida
Apparently, they're allowing it to chart in the UK now that the album is out and it was targeted to hit #1 last I heard, but that's still well up in the air. Going to be #1 in the US at least, though!

New Coldplay Merch.
I think the black shirt will definitely be at the MSG show. It's labeled as "Free Show Tee," so hopefully that means they'll have it there?? I'm planning on it!

16-Dec-08 - London, O2 Arena - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
Well, looking at a seating chart, I'd be more than happy to take those tickets off your hands for you, dfective, if you decide that you don't want to risk a visit to the chiropractor. :laugh4:

Anyone going to see them on the Today Show in NYC?
I'll be there as well!

Billboard: SANTOGOLD to open North American tour
In the newest Billboard article confirming Coldplay's #1 (!!!), it also says that Santogold will open the North American tour: http://www.myspace.com/santogold I personally am not a fan at all. I don't really think this is Coldplay style, but then again, you know Chris! :laugh4: I have a feeling this could end up possibly worse than Black Mountain though, actually. Bring back Richard Ashcroft!

check out the iTunes international chart
Melanieau, I think your signature says it all! "If you don't like Coldplay, now's the time to leave the world . . . we're about to take it over." Seems like that prophecy came true!! :laugh4:

Bad Rapper + Viva La Vida= EPIC FAIL
Oh my Lord...what was that? Just him essentially repeating EVERY line of the song? And the "held the key" bit was horrifying. And the fact that everything he says echoes twice makes it almost unintelligible. Well, to each his own. :laugh4:

Coldplay accused of copying 'Viva La Vida' melody
Wait, so if you accuse Coldplay of plagiarism, their management will send you a demo version of one of their best songs?? Here's hoping this guy puts the VLV demo on the Internet. Or someone on here just "write" a song, film "footage" of a concert "two years ago," and let's get the VLV demo for ourselves!! And for the record, I don't really mind the Creaky Boards song, actually. Pretty catchy! Although I still only hear a passing resemblance to Coldplay in two lines...

New York show winners are ....
I'd go with Section 220 myself--for the exact reasons you mentioned. You'll be closest with 220. 211, you risk being behind a little bit, which wouldn't be good. And you'll be infinitely closer with 220 than 228, even if that means seeing Chris' back for a little while. (Although I heard they faced the piano the other way at Brixton!) I'm in 210 myself, so I'd have the exact same, though opposite view, as you in 220!

New York show winners are ....
34th? Would it be 33rd, since MSG borders 33rd and 31st? That's off the top of my head anyway. I always confuse myself. Off to check Google Maps! :laugh4: Is that what you'll be doing, berrywoman? Really want to meet the guys, haven't had the chance yet unfortunately, so really hoping it works out in 6 days!

New York show winners are ....
My friend and I were considering it, but weren't really sure where/how to go about it. Seems like at most arena-like venues, they grab the bus in a restricted area where we'd never get to see them. Nothing like Brixton where the backstage door was apparently right on the street!! Although, I'd love to hear some ideas, since you seem a bit more familiar with the Garden than myself. Only been there once to see the Killers last year...and was shoved way back in Section 343, so looking forward to a better view this time!
