The second half of this song is incredible. That's all that really needs to be said--I can't wait to see how they mesh this into Reign of Love.

Why are they giving one person a free trip to MSG? I just don't understand that. Because then, they're encouraging people from Timbuktu and everywhere else to register, possibly not win the trip, but get tickets anyway. Then they can't possibly go and fans who can legitimately go lose out. Or are they only letting US people win tickets? They have to think of a good way to do this...

In the US iTunes store, type in "Viva La Vida" in the search. Then, when your results come up, you'll have the "albums" bar at the top with FOUR albums. Two results for Coldplay, a Frida soundtrack, and something called Cafe Cubar. The one on the top right is 'Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends' in iTunes Plus format. The only catch? Listed for 99 cents. In DRM-free style. At least that's what it looks like to me!

Here's what Pitchfork had. It's not so much a review as an overview of the track. And while I wouldn't call it overwhelmingly positive, it shows a surprising lack of negativity nonetheless. Maybe Pitchfork will start to like Coldplay? Who knows??

Jonny's solo in the middle of VH is going to sound epic live.

Just to chip in here: I love the song. Such a change in pace compared to their other stuff...a sort of back-to-basics, earthy feel. Absolutely amazing! If the rest of VLV is anything like Shiver or Yellow, I'll be absolutely content. Also, are we sure this is THE first single? Well, I know it technicall is, but I mean, it's not necessarily getting a proper release. I just figured this was a hype builder until late May-ish and then we'd get a real physical release of 42 or something. Something like Keane did with Atlantic and then Is It Any Wonder just prior to the album release. Maybe I missed something along the way.

This is better than I could have imagined. Such an amazing turn in direction!!!
