  1. I'm on Radio One...Jo's playing it after the "showbiz update" which is on now. She just teased by playing snips of all the past singles... I'm thinking 5 minutes or less over here?
  2. Jo Whiley just had about a half-second "taste" of Violet Hill...leading me to believe she was playing it. Alas, a few more minutes!
  3. Stupid question, but should I be listening to BBC6 or Radio One? Or does it not really matter?
  4. I'm going to do all in my power to make it to the NYC show. It's scary to think that it's been...literally just over two years since their last official show in the US (which I was at!). Definitely want to be at their first one back, too. And it's free? Maybe I'll have to do MSG AND Today Show...wow, that'd be a heck of a Coldplay week.
  5. So noon on Tuesday means 7 AM Eastern time in the US, right? Hopefully she's right on the money, since if that's the case, then I can catch the song before I head to school.
  6. If it's released to radio on May 5th, anyone think there's a chance of us getting it on the Coldplayer sooner? Maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part.
  7. 18 by Moby! And for the record, 42 would be an awesome album title.
  8. I've got my tickets for the New Jersey concert. There's talk that Coldplay, U2, Oasis, and Springsteen are all interested. And then there's other (crazy?) talk about a Led Zep reunion? I just hope that if any of these five sign on, two or three will make it to NJ. Springsteen definitely would. But Coldplay, U2, and Oasis all seem more likely to play London, as does Led Zep. Come on, London already has RHCP, Foo Fighters, and Keane!! Regardless, it's going to be an amazing day.
  9. All at Sea is probably one of my favorite songs of all time. Actually, it's my most played song in iTunes. Over 500 listens! I've been trying to get to see him live, but everytime he tours the US, I have something going on when he gets near me! I'll make it someday, I'm sure.
  10. Just found these guys thanks to VH1's whole You Oughta Know series of artists, which I have to say is amazing. I've found tons of great artists before they became popular through that...Keane, Jamie Cullum, Franz Ferdinand. Anyway, checked out The Feeling, saw how popular they are in the UK. I'm really surprised there's not more about them here! Anyway, top notch band...just got the CD import. Fill My Little World is fantastic. I'm really hoping I can get an .mp3 copy of the single they're releasing on Monday...a cover of Video Killed the Radio Star? Sounds awesome. Hope someone can upload for us non-UK people! Also managed to snag tickets to the VH1 You Oughta Know show in Philadelphia they're playing. The Feeling, Mat Kearney, and Rocco Deluca. Sure to be an awesome show. What do you guys think?
  11. Anyone have the "A Bad Dream" single with B sides? Living in the US has its disadvantages when it comes to these UK only singles.
  12. Yep, you're right. On the US version at least, The Iron Sea is technically on Track 8. You know how all CDs have about two second gaps between each song? Well, The Iron Sea is placed in this gap between Put It Behind You and Crystal Ball. Did that confuse you? Oh well, I tried.
  13. I'm with Peter...any of the Crystal Ball B-sides?? Looking forward to the new The Iron Sea version. Us non-UK people would really appreciate it! Oh, and I must say, get well soon to Tom with the issues he's been having. Disappointed to hear of the US tour postponment, but it's all for the best. I hope he gets this all sorted out soon.
  14. It was pretty much around the crotch region. :laugh4: He handled it all in stride pretty well!
  15. Well, for a lonely soul, you're having such a nice time.
  16. Oh, and as a note, for all the ladies who love Tom out there...at the Chicago show, he ripped his pants during the second song. I honestly didn't even notice (until he went backstage for two minutes to change!), and as a guy, I really don't care. Poor guy, I would have been mortified. But the reason I bring this up is that I hear some pictures are out there! You should look. That, and it was HILARIOUS. Richard then made a comment on how Tom exposing himself in public made him the next Janet Jackson. Hilarious.
  17. Well, I was at the Keane gig in Chicago on Tuesday. Front row, right on the rail. Got there three hours early, but it was definitely worth it. My experience sounds a lot like an_cat's actually! Tom shook my hand right before their bow onstage. Pretty exciting, huh? Honestly, I think this was the best show I've ever been to. And that includes two Coldplay gigs and a U2 one. Maybe that was just because it was such an intimate venue, along with my spot. But I never had so much fun in my life! Some pictures...my digital camera comes out a bit blurry with movement, but it's all good. I especially love the first one. I think it's the best picture I've ever taken!
  18. The White Album and Magical Mystery Tour are my two favorite Beatles albums. Strawberry Fields Forever is just my favorite song of all time. Baby, You're a Rich Man never gets old to me, either. But some of the stuff the Beatles (well, mainly John) did were just ahead of their time. Imagine a commerically established band, like Coldplay, putting something like Revolution 9 on one of their albums. It wouldn't go over well. But they had the guts to do something like that! John wanted it to be a single...well, that might have been pushing it... The Beatles are definitely one of my favorite bands.
  19. I was kind of flip-flopping on downloading it, but I gave in in the end. I'm going to see them on the 27th and the CD doesn't come out here in the US until the 20th. I need time to memorize the album! I'll still definitely buy it once it's released here. Anyway, after listening it to a few times, I'm really liking it. From everything that was said about it, I was expecting something entirely different from Hopes and Fears, but that's not the case. I still hear a lot of the first album among all the new stuff. Certainly, this album is a lot more complex. Some of the songs on H&F had one piano line. You can hear at least three in some of the songs here. Standouts right now for me are Is It Any Wonder, Nothing in My Way, and The Frog Prince. I also don't think Crystal Ball is as bad as some people to think (granted, the chorus is a bit cliched, but the verses are great). I don't think there's really a BAD track on this album. Hamburg Song and Broken Toy are lacking, in my opinion, when put up against some of the other songs, but they're still decent. 8/10 right now.
  20. Thanks a lot for that. :)
  21. I was wondering...does anyone have the song The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore? It's on Keane's Myspace, and I hadn't heard it before. (Actually, I haven't heard ANY of their B-sides besides Something in Me Was Dying.) Regardless, if anyone has The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore, can you please upload it for me? That and any other B-sides you may have? I'd really appreciate it. :) Thanks!
  22. Did you mean Black Mountain? I'm assuming you did...in which case, I totally agree with you. They opened for Coldplay back at Camden in August. And people all around me just booed and booed them. Pretty hilarious, actually.
  23. Nice pictures, ColdplayJoe! I actually found myself in that one picture you have of Chris singing in the back during In My Place. Very cool to be in the same frame as him. LOL Thanks a lot!
  24. Here's a view from Section 105. Great work with the signs, guys! The band definitely appreciated it.
